This was such a nerve-racking moment as 7 girls on my list did not make it. But as I heard their video clips I could see why they were chosen. Paula mentioned they are looking for someone with a strong advocacy and a powerful, clear voice. RBonney was the best choice. Correction: The longest _ongoing_ streak has ended. The USA had 22 placements from 1977 to 1998. That's 22 years, 10 years longer than the Philippines.
Meanwhile, Venezuela placed from 1983 to 2003. That's 21 years.
Philippines is ranked 3rd with the longest streak in Miss Universe, from 2010 to 2021 (12 years), just behind USA and Venezuela.
Right now though, the longest _ongoing_ streak is _still_ 12. How? Because Miss USA has been placing from 2011 to 2022. Had Miss USA 2010 placed, their ongoing streak would've been 13 as of today.

I was surprised Jamaica didn't make it, her preliminary performance was so good. Maybe the interview with judges was not on the same level ... but very happy for Trinidad & Tobago, Australia and Portugal ! I noticed them but i was not sure if they would make it or not

Nope tbh Phillipines is overrated she did not have energy in her to be an ambassador, and also her speaking ability is not that on point, it's not just about looks is about being a complete package and whoever overall is best all around wins

@@silviaitalia.928 Alexia es hermosa y llamativa, lo que incómodo a muchos peruanos fue su poca preparación para el Miss Universo y al final eso peso; Clasificó al top 16 por su fisico pero no avanzo más porque no tuvo la actitud necesaria. Si iba al concurso en dos años más habria logrado entrar al top 3

We couldn't have had a better successor of Harnaaz and miss india this year. She has represented India so well with so much dignity even though she was being criticised by everyone. She exuded calmness under pressure and she proved everyone wrong by placing in the top 16 (only asian selected by jury) Thank you divita for continuing India's streak in the semis and holding India's flag higher at the international pageant. Everyone is so unhappy that Philippine didn’t make it or that other favorite contestants that was mostly featured on the media. The top 16 was definitely a surprise, but if you look at their platform and what they stand for it was really good. That was the theme this year, they stated that it doesn’t matter about your culture or background, it’s what you bring to the table…women empowerment and how you stand for your platform. It takes more than just a pretty face and strong walk to get to the top.
You can see that the deligates that entered the first cut are dedicated and passionate about their advocacies. Besides, I also noticed that the new era of Miss Universe is looking for a good ambassador of the organization
