  • This DeWALT DW705 12" 15amp Compound Miter Saw works great! But the power cord is in sad shape, with multiple breaks in the outer insulation. For my own safety I felt it was necessary to replace the power cord. In the process, I added a ground wire for extra security. I will walk you through the whole process in this video, and together we'll experience a very satisfying result! Thanks for watching!

Thank you so much! very detailed, well spoken directions for replacing a miter saw cord. I just got an old hitachi and the cord desperatly needs to be changed. Going to look up the cording needed and have husband help me makesure it's grounded probably.

Buck, you are the man! I just ordered a replacement cord from Dewalt for my DW705 and the cord I was shipped includes a ground wire. I was going to do the same thing with the ground, but I wanted to see what others may have done. I'm so glad I found your video. Thanks for taking the time to post it.

Thanks, Kelly. I bought my saw used several years ago. It works great for the DIY home improvement projects I do. I'm happy to have a new power cord on it now.

Thankyou! My dad was an electrician and sadly he died about 6 months ago. Now I can change myself! I had a good idea of how, but have more confidence after watching your video!

@@shelleycatari5693 Sorry to hear of your dad's passing. I'm sure he'd be glad to know you're tackling this project yourself. Good luck!
