KG is one of the most underrated guitarists of all times! His licks and sooooo many TD songs are literally nothing short of amazing. KG belongs in the G.O.A.T. club for sure.
It's kinda amazing how much command Kyle has over the guitar; not just in a surprisingly technical, shreddy way, but how he's able to make it very expressive. That little throwaway "That sounds good...glad I'm doing that!" joke means that he doesn't really think about what he's going to play, he just fucking PLAYS it.
One night recently I was listening to the D with a good friend of mine and I think it was the solo in "Wonder Boy" that made us talk about how underrated of a guitar player he is. Not only is his music expressive and not only does he play it like second nature without really thinking about it, but he does all that excellent playing and soloing shit on a fucking ACOUSTIC GUITAR!
I always thought it made more sense as ''golden fingers'' and ''silver voice'', not because of skill or anything. Silver voice is already a term I think, and I can swear I've heard golden fingers before
11 years ago when guitar youtube was barely a thing this lesson got me to open my guitar playing techniques up from simple strumming and power chords in to doing double-stop bends and mid-chord suspensions. Without this channel my guitar playing would have stagnated and I might have lost interest before I had the chance to become the player I am today. Tenacious D is the reason why I started playing guitar and Guitarings is the reason for why I know how. Thank you Kyle and Kones! 🤘
@Guitarings such a great amp. gives you the warm clean sound on the low notes that you usualy get from 6V6 in the form of el34, plus it gives you the great british rock sound and goes from clean to crunch to high gain! its realy just one of my dreams to own one of those! BTW great riff, got me playing on my classic guitar again! wish i had an acoustic.
Thank you for this lesson Kage! Such a skilled guitarist. The best part of Kielbasa is the catchy groovy guitar. 🎸🎶 Hope to learn these notes some day. 😄☺️
still cant figure out what exactly happens with KGs guitar in the original song. He plays it differently second time around when he comes to the C. Sounds like double notes or just off notes next to the first guitar, but I cant put my finger on it.. KG HUELP!
Damn it I wanted to see the second guitars little hammer on riff in the second part of the intro from the album. I know it's hammer ons/pull offs but it's hard to make out what he's playing with two guitars.
ermm guy i think it would bet for peoples learning if you put those little chord doodly pictures on the screen to show where the fingers go again, like in FHG and Tribute
Such a great riff that they don't get enough recognition for. If this was thrown into the mainstream it should be popular, but today its filled with pop bullshit and nobody would give any credit.
Ive got a question to you guys. How did you come up with this song title? Im Polish and i wonder whats the story behind this:) Im sure im not only one who wanna know it.
Every time you guys play it live you have a sound hole cover. I've never bought one because all of them at Guitar Center have horrible ratings but does a sound hole cover improve your acoustic sound any?
I don't know exact finger placements on these chords because I taught myself visually and its hard to see where to put my fingers because KG's are so fat :L
RelativelyHostile1 if you can’t play the note with your thumb, or can’t play the base note at all with the F chord, either keep trying and you’ll get it eventually, takes some repositioning on the neck, or just mute the string at least, prob sound better than hitting the open E, and I’m pretty sure he mutes it half the time
Did you know that the "pop" in pop music is just short for POPular. Also, shitty music has always been the popular music, i think. The 70s wasn't all rock, you know. Go back in time, turn on the radio, and the first thing you'll here is some shit disco. the 80s were the worst of all. even worse than today. Anyway, why do you think you need what you like to be more popular? Me, I prefer to stay underground, but I guess some people do get lonely done there.
I love when KG suddenly realizes how badass the riff actually is when broken down.
anyone else learning this in quarantine?
Yup
Yes
Trying now

@@varg1231 he is exceptional. No doubt
Thanks for explaining the joke, Captain.
The shot of Kones playing the riff at 1:25 is the best "show me" part of the video.
Learned how to play this, played it on the sidewalk outside of the school with one of my friends, and got a detention. Totally worth it!
Kyle's fingers be silver. That's all you need to know.
I always thought it made more sense as ''golden fingers'' and ''silver voice'', not because of skill or anything. Silver voice is already a term I think, and I can swear I've heard golden fingers before
Gustavo Ignacio Ruiz Cárcamo I suppose you could just look at it as a play on those terms, swapping them up like that
+Gustavo Ignacio Ruiz Cárcamo silver tongue is the expression you're thinking of

The only thing i don't like about Guitarings is i can never see where KG's fingers are!!!!
Ive got a question to you guys. How did you come up with this song title? Im Polish and i wonder whats the story behind this:) Im sure im not only one who wanna know it.
Quiet you, I have a large enough kielbasa sausage :P
Every time you guys play it live you have a sound hole cover. I've never bought one because all of them at Guitar Center have horrible ratings but does a sound hole cover improve your acoustic sound any?
Nooooo. It kills it. That's for when it's plugged in. Some of those have effects built into them.
Pause 2:58
im massively wondering weather this is kones real hair or just a toupet....
kiełbasa hahahhaa ;d
G mixolydian?
@mars0015 yeah, no shit...

I don't know exact finger placements on these chords because I taught myself visually and its hard to see where to put my fingers because KG's are so fat :L
i can't do a f chord with my thumb :'( my hands are physically too small. wtf should i do
RelativelyHostile1 if you can’t play the note with your thumb, or can’t play the base note at all with the F chord, either keep trying and you’ll get it eventually, takes some repositioning on the neck, or just mute the string at least, prob sound better than hitting the open E, and I’m pretty sure he mutes it half the time
