    I used this game to teach my 5 years old son base math.
    We played like this:
    Each player rolls and can put down sum of dots or the number of dots on one of the dices. Then the bext person rolls. If you cannot put down the sum of dots or the number from a dice you lose your round and pass the dices to next player. The winner is the person who closes the box
    You can change the rules and subtract insted of adding dots 😊
    He learned how to add and subtract on a basic level.

    My dad and I played a game called "Shut the Hell Up. It went like this. "Pop, the ice cream truck is outside" And He'd say "Shut The Hell Up"!

    That was perfect. Thank you. Most descriptions I had found for this game called for it to be played for stakes settled after each round rather than over multiple rounds. Your scoring system is simple but elegant.

    You mentioned TWICE, that you have to have two tiles to turn over ("an equal number of tiles to turn over"), yet TWICE you flipped just ONE tile. I've heard s/one from England go over the rules, and you CAN turn over just ONE tile on your turn...you add the two DICE together, and that TOTAL will allow you to turn 1, 2, or 3 or even FOUR tiles over.
    However you can get to the total on both dice, that's the tiles you turn over. You can also put a "spin" to the game and use multiplication. So I guess there are no hard, fast rules. As long as folks are havin' fun, & when played with children, it can be a great tool to hone their math skills.

      I've played this using multiplication and division too. I think there are plenty of versions of the rules. I agree, kids can improve math skills this way.

    Since the object is to shut the box...lowest score win... If there is 2 & 7 left... You have the score 27. Next person has to get a lower score than 27 or shut the box to win. If 1st person shuts the box...2nd player must shut the box or lose. Atleast, that's how we played it...or we added up the last still standing for a score...again, lowest score wins. ( 2 player).

    • @brucecampbell6186
      @brucecampbell6186 Před 4 měsíci

      I think most rules require you add the two dice for a total of 12. Then in any combination of number equal to 12 that are not flipped is ok. But you must pass if you can’t flip a sum of 12 in this scenario.
