12:00 See that big man behind Hughes for the pre race interview? When Kawasaki was the first to use a semi truck for the team, I talked a Kawasaki guy into giving me and a buddy a inside tour. He left us in there alone, and I picked up one of Mike Laracco's ported cylinders there sitting on a bench, (I was checking out the port work, not much done). That man walked in from the front of the trailer, saw me standing there with Mike's cylinder in my hands, and kicked us out. That is Mike Laracco's Dad. Pretty big guy too. :)
According to a MXA magazine interview with Ryan Hughes, (on the 500 for USA), after the race was over, Ryan was about 9 seconds off the pace during the first timed laps of the day. Roger DeCoster told him, "I think we picked the wrong guy", and Ryan dug deep to find the speed he needed for the motos. He was pretty good at that.
