- In this Video I will go over the best way in Runescape to AFK each skill in the hope that you will be able to max your OSRS account with the least amount of effort possible.
I never know what to actually write here. I made a guide at the end of last year (posted on the first of this year) Of how to max your OSRS account. It is by far the best performing video that I have made, and I wanted to follow it up with a similar video of how to AFK your max cape. In the first video I focus largely on the best methods and my overall favorites, along with some tips and tricks
In this video, we skip a lot of the big concepts, and go straight into the methods themselves. I hope you enjoy and please let me know if there's something that you would have done differently.

How is NMZ not as AFK as crabs..? Crabs is 10 mins before they lose aggression, NMZ is 20 mins before you stop auto retaliating. I just threw my character into NMZ and went down the street to pickup a sandwich, was gone for ~18 mins and came back and my characters still there fighting, plus you’re getting NMZ points the whole time + overloads every 5 mins for better gains lmao

Nmz and crabs are both the wrong answer. Complete sins of the father and afk vyres for combat. The questline can easily be done with lower stats than you would need to make nmz even slightly worth it and you actually make money here to put towards more skills and gear.

In addition to the stars, the mining method in Varlamore is really solid afk wise _and_ comes with bonus extra prayer xp. Not too shabby! When I AFK mining it'll be swapping between whenever i hear that a star is up.
Agility wise; I'm doing this AFK in my POH right now; between 2-5m afk time, for roughly 9-10K xp/hr.
As for Nightmare zone, it's way more AFK if done correctly; multi-hour sessions with 15 min. afk time per click. Cost wise, you just need an obby set pretty much. Look up Spellsey's guide on it (99 str in a week).
I definitely found NMZ more afk than crabs. Load it up with low level monsters on easy mode, fill up on absorption potion, and you're good. No point where they become unaggressive ever. The hardest part was not letting the auto logout timer run out, and worked fine with melee, ranged, and even magic with chaos gauntlets (definitely way higher xp/hr than splashing for equivalent zzz time. I literally got almost entirely maxed stats while at work.)
Blast furnace bike isn't 25 mins afk time, it will stop when your agility level runs out. So at most it's like 5 minutes AFK time with the endurance ring and stamina pot, also you will need to sip run energy pots along with stamina pots to keep your run energy up
I used NMZ for all my combat stats and sometimes could afk for 40+ minutes. I would go grocery shopping and come back still logged in fighting.
Dharok’s, super combat pots (not overloads), set timer for 25 minutes at a time.
Best afk method in the entire game.
I mean NMZ is just objectively more AFK and more XP than crabs for melee, ranged and mage. Makes it hard to trust the rest of the video when you really dig in on a point you are so wrong about.
They make some other alright points, but are also literally wrong about some things like the bike for agility for example. You can't afk that. Also sounds like they didn't really understand sq'irking so didn't give a great opinion on that when that's something I do on the regular. Honestly they could have done a bit more research tbh.
Yeah I agree, like they mention splashing is only possible for the logout timer but it’s possible for 6 hours having something on your keyboard

@@queensofthedthrone8267 Only if you have really low defense, you're dharoking (which you shouldn't really do with less than like 90 hit points or something anyway), or doing hard NMZ. Otherwise, normal NMZ, 5 good low defense only melee bosses, absorb up to 1000, don't touch your hitpiints at all, leave for 20 minutes and repot, repeat for 6 hours. Also you're wrong about hitpoints, 1 hit point comes back every minute, 2 hit points a minute with HP cape. Also if you're going for 1hp it's easier to flick hp regen prayer before your hp goes up, then eating to go back down. If you're still confused about anything there's tons of guides for this on the wiki and various reddit posts. Ignore what they say about headless beast though, kendal is way better than dealing with the headless beasts special imo.

You can also stack prayer bonus and just do bosses who attack with melee (hard mode is easier for that).
At lvl 80 prayer I can get like 12 min afk intervals through prayer.

For agility I believe there is also a method in your POH with traps and minion that make you go in the traps if auto retaliate is on. This would be 20k xp/hour completely afk but is pretty expensive to set up. I don't know the specifics, I would have to watch the guide again. I just stick to Ardy rooftop as it is relaxing enough, makes me about 400k per hour and can easily be interrupted by bird house runs so you can simply tele back after.

Dark crabs is best afk fishing method especially after wildly elites. It's the most fishing xp per click because the spots never move like karambwans, but way more xp

For thieving you can still do spam clicking, it just takes a bit of setup. You need 1) your layout to be "resizable (modern)" so your inventory is collapsible, 2) inventory bound to esc and the "esc closes current interface" option enabled, 3) a weight you can put on your esc key. So you just line up your camera such that the knight and your first inventory slot are in the same place, put a weight on your esc key and spam click away. The esc will flicker your inventory open and closed so half your clicks will open coin pouches and the other half will click the knight.
For slayer buy a venator bow and go to catacombs as much as you can. Super chill/afk.
Also I def recommend doing the 0-time macro efficiency - do barb fishing for the free agi/str, zeah rc for the free rc/mining. So much free xp
fishing and woodchopping used to be most relaxing skills. now they messed it up to counter bots. seriously, this skills dont make money to be strict on it like that.
i wish i had the money for a venator. this game has always made me think that i'm doing something wrong because i never make money, but i'm starting to understand that everything is just super slow and you really won't make 100m+ in a week.

@@pwnmclovin1 If you have decent capital to start flipping can easily make you 100m+ in a week. There are weeks where I can clear that in a couple days. Although, until you get a feel for how prices fluctuate you can expect to lose a few million here or there.
@@JenovaW you can if you already have all the prerequisites, i haven't done ds2 or mm2 yet. i only have a month on my main.
Its possible to AFK the full 6 hours in the nightmare zone.

(Basically highest defense modifiers as possible)
20 doses of absorption potion, stand in the middle (plenty of guides to show the exact tile) and hold down an arrow key and let it go for 6 hours.
Yeah unfortunately he missed this method. Works great. You could also say what NPCs you use. Mine aren’t the perfect ones so I’m unsure of that part.

@@nightfox6738 and you get the full 6 hours? I’ve been using sand snake, count draynor, king roald, trapped soul, and Khazard warlord. I have 81 def and with justi, dfs, rapier, fury, suffering, guardians, barrows gloves, I still only make it about 3.5-4 hours. Wondering if it’s just the def or is it the npcs actually hitting? Could be khazard warlord doing all of the damage. Either way I’m almost done with att/str at 97/98 so I’m going to be doing def next when I get the 98 att. Going for untrimmed HP cape before maxing
@@VictorSanchez-fi9lf 1: I'm at 94 defense so that is llikely the issue,but 3.5-4 hours is still great afk, that'll get better as you level up.
2. Make sure you're on normal and not hard
3. Do you have a fire cape? If you do that's bis defense. If not the myth cape actually has really good defense bonuses.
4. Get defense first then train shared xp. Defense will let you last longer giving you more afk xp. Unless you are able to come back to it every 3-4 hours. For me I leave it going while I'm at work or while I sleep so the longer it lasts the more xp I can get
@@nightfox6738 lol, I didn’t mention that part because I’m waiting for a tzhaar slayer task to do it. Yeah same for me, it’s on when I’m at work or sleeping. My plan is to get 98 attack and then leave str and att at 98 to finish defence until I get 99 hp. Do you remember what level your defence was when you began making it the full 6 hours? I’m thinking 90ish should do it
You can afk splashing six hours by leaving something on your keyboard to spin the camera. I did this on my pure with chaos runes 27k xp an hour. I’d run it all night and in the morning before I went to work. 99 mage in a month easily
I thought they patched camera movement input as counting as input for splashing. How long ago did you do that

Another good AFK herblore method is using swamp tar with Harralander herbs
I'd just say with AFK farming that you just *prioritize the highest xp/patch.* IE: I am a lazy bastard in no hurry to max ever, but planting the now 4 hardwood patches and noticing that they're done only because I stumbled by them on my birdhouse runs will net you like *61k xp* every few days. Add tree and fruit tree runs on top of that daily for slightly more and work your way down.
For melee nothing beats dark beasts, they never lose aggro and with all the new prayer gear you can sit completely afk for 25mins np

@@AsikoTFC so you'll drink 5 doses of super energy, which costs like 7k, then click the bike again, afk for only about 3 minutes, and then do it again, then bank for another inventory of super energy, which costs 150k, and repeat, for like 5k xp an hour

Ill be that guy and say it. nmz for melee is more afk than ammonite crabs, depending on gear. justiciar with guardian boots and suffering and the rest on your best melee gear, will let you afk for 3+ hours with 1000 absorbs once. just put something heavy on your left or right arrow key and boom no afk logout. I managed ~4 hours afk with mentioned setup, fang and ddefender on 80s melee, granting me around 70k xp/h

gnomemonkey's summer garden video explains why the plugin works. can take 5-20 min of failing to get all the guards set up. it's basically brute forcing each guard to be same ticked for their cycles.
With even the worst setup it really shouldn't take more than 5 minutes maybe a little more to set them all up. If it's that bad though literally just hop worlds and you'll prob find one ready to go. Cant believe he says this isn't really afk though, it's basically 1 click every 35 seconds. More afk than ardy knights with 100% success rate. Can get like 180k+ xp/hr here.
How feasible is it actually to get a max cape by afking? Like is it one of those things where it's theoretically possible to get 99s but not practical, or is it actually feasible
Some skills you can, others you cant, I afked rc, mining, some fishing, wc, but actually played the rest
There's only really four skills that can't be reasonably afked, those being Thieving, Agility, Construction and Farming.
Most other skills can only be afked for 1-2 minutes at a time while Combat and gathering skills can be afked for anywhere between 4 and 10 minutes at a time.
It's best to pick and choose what skill and method you want to do with how afk you can be.
If you do crabs, try the secret underground crabs at fossil island. Theres a triple crab spot that no one uses. If you bring boost pots and prayer pots you can last down here for hours while never having to hop worlds.
why need prayer pots
Splashing is still possible for 6 hours, you need something on your keyboard, for example pushing the space bar down and you’ll stay logged in.

Cooking gauntlets only work for Lobster, Swordfish, Sharks, Anglerfish, and Monkfish. I always forget about that.
Besides karams there really nothing else worth cooking anyway. Maybe dark crabs I guess too.
Kraken task for AFK magic training, provided that you have the requirements. Full experience + damage experience without being attacked.

I think an unspoken idea in this video is how worth it it is to AFK - example: I would never afk firemaking because the xp/hr at WinterTodt is just too good, but I will absolutely afk star mining because mining sucks

You can max low level enemies only in NMZ, and put a weight on your arrow key and have 6 hours of pure AFK training. Look into it

You can't get 36k xp an hour at blast furnace bike because it drains run energy. You can only do it for like 3 minutes before you have to restore your run energy.

for afk construction you can cannon hill/moss giants with a bonecrusher in the katacombs of kourend for long/curved bones four about 5-6k xp per hour once you turn the bones in. using bone crusher and proselyte you can stay here almost indeffinitley.

@@lightinggod1124 climb up the rope inside the katacombs to the giants den and you can cannon those ones, its the only spot you can cannon for totem pieces. there are several videos about it if you are curious as to know how.

Construction your best bet would probably be to find something aggressive that drops long bones and collect those passivley but thats a lot of time

For fishing there's also dark crabs, with the wildy diary is as afk is as afk as karambwans but more money and xp.
Just bring 54 dark fishing bait and fish barrel and wildy sword, if you get pked you wont loose the barrel nor the fish in it so its a pretty good method.
CBA with pkers it makes this method not worth it...

I will say this for everone that needs it: you can 2 tick swordfish for ~110k xp/hr fishing experience. Without even moving your mouse!!!

Technically Karambwan spots do move but only for a short time after a server reset.
Youre not actually killing the monkeys! From the wiki: "Unlike most hunter creatures, maniacal monkeys are not killed; rather, when successfully captured, they will shed their tails to escape, beginning the process of regenerating their tail." So actually, one of the more humane hunter methods.
Dark crabs are my favorite afk fishing and I’m sad they didn’t get a shout as they are even more afk than karambwans.
For Thieving I still like to do Ardy Knights. It’s super afk for me because I take my phone and walk away from my keyboard and go for a long walk while tapping my phone to thieve the Ardy knights. Got almost 300k on my walk last night while barely paying attention 😀

For hunting the monkeys, remember to bring basket of bananas. Full invy will last you around and hour. then just quickly bank with seed pod and glide back!
NMZ is 100% more AFK than crabs. While the EXP rates are debatable the AFK possibilities are not debatable.
Don't you have to keep your HP at 1 once every minute by rapid healing or relowering?
Every other method someone mentioned yesterday was literally a perm bannable offense that I am not putting in a video lol

but no you can use guthans then walk away for 21mins without touching a thing. due the the guthans youll get slower EXP rates unless you are training defense. Hence why i mentioned not being able to argue exp rates over afk viability.@@patyfatycake_OSRS
@@patyfatycake_OSRS I feel the same way. Everyone I talk to speaks so highly of NMZ and outside of my need to imbue items, I greatly dislike it and would prefer crabs over ever going back in there once I've done what I need to in there lol
@@patyfatycake_OSRSIf your maxing efficiency for points or xp rates you do that with overloads and 1 hp. Otherwise just look up afk NMZ. You just have to use absorption and and click every 20 minutes, all within Jagex rules. I'd honestly suggest you do a little more research in the future for your videos, as you make some poor and outright false claims in this video for several skills.

Plugging star miners discord isn’t great they advertise 3rd party gambling and gold selling in their discord and get really shitty when anyone else tries to do anything with star tracking in the community (of RuneScape I don’t mean in their discord)

Once again a tuber claims there is "no AFK Construction" WRONG! Long/curved bones from a bunch of afk combat activities give xp for no extra clicks except picking them up.

I'm mid lvl player my only 1acc I started to do autocliker for high alch and macro recorders for fletching herblore if I get banned that's ok so i don't have to play this I better risk it then stay on the screan for hours

I enjoy game like slayer or revs but this grind is annoying for some skills why not to try some help :D I can do some exercise in a mean time because after playing for 10h each day for 2 months I think i need some time for myself and if I get banned I get my life back because this game addictive as fuck:D
A bit of incorrect info on Sqi'rking being killed off. It didn't die because it was unsustainable. There was enough people there at all times that it was always sustained for the people who stayed long-term. Leagues IV is SOLELY and exclusively what killed Sqi'rking. Once Leagues started there wasn't enough people to sustain it. You need almost the full 1,000 but there was only 200-400 during Leagues.
For some reason Sqi'rking never recovered after Leagues ended, and shortly after that Jagex removed the themed worlds (W523 & W524).

Nmz isnt afk. If youre rich, u can afk better with pray pots. If youre not, you have to reset hp to 1-2 constantly.

W/ dharoks i was getting 110k /hr WITHOUT absorption and overloads. When i swapped up to soulreaper i was around 130k /hr without overloads but with absorption. If you want to keep up overload for more xp you need to pay attention every 5 mins, if you dont care about overload and want maximum afk then just eat absorption to 1000 and bring your HP down to 1 and you can walk away for nearly 20 mins before you need to reapply absorption and bring hp back to 1. You bring your hp to 1 so you reduce how much damahe you take which increases the time you can afk due to how slow the drain is on absorption.
For crabs i think i was maxing out at like 70k/hr and you HAVE to walk away every 10 mins or else they stop aggroing.
How is 10 > 20 ?!
