Hongjoong imo is her best feature.
She was supposed to do the song alone and rap up until the end but she knew she couldn’t do it so she got the perfect person for it, per her Grammy interview.
Hongjoong is also a younger artist and I feel like they did it out of respect and it went well with her ending chorus. It would’ve been weird progression wise if he was just dropped in the middle. The only crime here is his verse being so short. He needed at least 8 more bars.

Hongjoong took part in the production and the writing his part is not that long because his schedules was full but Chungha personally wanted him on the track so they found a way for him to have a verse but not take too long for the filming and everything
Chung Ha and Hongjoong are definitely gonna have some major plans to collaborate more in the future with their music and style as a performer and artist

Actually, from what I understand. Hongjoon actually helped write and produce this track. They didn't want him to overshadow Chungha because it's her song. Not that Miss Chung Chung couldn't hold her own, but it's more out of respect for her, I think.

Agree. Hongjoong's few seconds of rap was impactful enough and doesn't take away anything from Chungha's song. I'm sure that was Hongjoong's intention too.

I get what you mean. I LOVED hongjoongs rap tho. It was my favorite part of the song with the chorus. But a lot of us wanted a little bit more too. Such as them doing the chorus together. I think it's because hongjoong was in a time crunch as he was in the middle of touring/Japanese cb, so he literally had to write the lyrics and compose his part in between concerts, and then quickly fly out to shoot, and then fly back to Japan. I think they also probably didn't want to take much of the attention off of her since it's a title track and her first cb In 2 years. Either way though, in glad CHUNGHA specifically chose hongjoong for the part because she loved his rapping and style. Also, there are several references to ateez lore and mvs which is cool. The masked man guardian is also used in ateez vids, and chungha used dance moves from ateez crazy form and bouncy especially in the background while hj is rapping
'I'm ready' is a full song...and it hits!!!
The thing I love about this song is how different it is especially the beat. The producer stood on business 😅🔥👏🏾 Plus chung ha voice is so captivating.
