Interestingly, starting on Lexapro reminds me of my experience with psilocybin, specifically the “come up” phase of the trip, when the drug’s effects began. They both affect serotonin, so this makes sense. It feels like a knot in your upper stomach or chest, and a general muscular weakness. It’s close to nausea, but not the same. It’s a happy nausea, like the kind you get on a roller coaster.

Sexual side-effects with SSRIs are a lot more prevalent than is generally acknowledged. It's gotta be well over 50%. I think drug companies don't really want to acknowledge it or talk about it, and doctors definitely seem to minimize it. Otherwise, this is a great video. Thank you.

I experienced almost instant sexual side effects, and it’s much more difficult to orgasm. I’m a man, so this is very much a con, but I’m in a supportive relationship and my partner has other ideas of how we can maintain a healthy sex life. I’m only just starting on it, though, and I haven’t been exercising. I’m hoping this side effect is lessened.

There is no such thing as "extreme" panic attack. Panic attack is just panic attack. You shouldn't rush to the hospital. You should just chill lol. I know it's hard because I experienced them a lot but you should understand that they are not dangerous...If it's SO hard to you to deal with you can ask your doctor for low doses benzodiazepines and use them as needed (for panic attacks) during first few days/2 weeks while waiting for SSRI to work.

I have just started it. I have been on/off antidepressants for generalized anxiety disorder and clinical depression. Only on day 5 but it's a smooth ride. It's had less side affects for me than prozac, effexor which was like he'll for me I came straight off it after three days. Just don't take effexor or snri'' take ssri's but obviously consult your gp and make sure you only take any of them because your losing your mind or suicidal if your not these things get to the gym or find a purpose that will lift you out of your situation and definitely definitely don't drink alcohol I did that for years and nearly got sectioned under the mental health act. Think of the film gremlins there is certain rules to abide by. If you don't stick to the rules you will become a gremlin.
