Ron, really like your video. As a 47 year tech your upper rad hose needs protection from rub through at the fan shroud and the small metal tube. Also, do not put anti-seize on wheel studs as doing so will affect wheel nut torque just clean studs, and wheel and lug nuts. You can clean wheel and hub or rotor where wheel meets and it is ok to put anti-seize on those sufaces so the wheel will not rust together. Keep up the great work!
Just happened to come across your content and I have to say, I’m digging it. I think you would have made one hell of a machine shop/mechanic shop teacher that the kids could relate to. I subscribed to your channel and I’m looking forward to more of your content
Now this is my kind of video, great job Ron, you have me out looking for an old RV to fix up. I bet that will be more reliable than a new 150k class C, I see video's on new ones that are constantly in the shop.
I love that Rv I hope you and your wife and family driving enjoy that they so user-friendly I have a 28 ft class A and I loved it and it's a 88 city of State see your country black man always be easy to work on and affordable
Actually I have a 19' boat that kept me poor for a couple years. I need to put a set of primary drive bearings and seals in it. Pretty sure I was dropped one my head as a infant ;-D
@@RonsClassicRVs I hear ya, I sometimes think I got bounced on my noggin a few times. And then I married a cowgirl - wifey-poo now has two horses and a pony; they're basically boats with legs...
Another great video Ron. Your work is simply fantastic! I’d like to have just 10% of your technical skills: if I had it I was going to be a Master! Keep working my friend, ‘cause I’m looking forward to see the RV done.
Thanks Ron lots of great information. I just picked up a 1992 Dodge van for a camper van project. You helped start my check list. Great cerise keep them coming.
VFW...what branch of service Ron? Also, this is a neat video. Never thought I'd be interested in someone repairing an old RV, but it's Ron. You can make anything interesting.
I'm not surprised you had to go with a new radiator. I am surprised that you decided not to drop that fuel tank to deal with that old fuel line. Hope you didn't fill it too full...
Dang it!!! Gauge says 1/2 tank now. I got a pump I can hook up to the fuel line and pump it out. Just hate working under stuff. To cramped. Need a concrete slab to work on at least. A Guy can dream!!
Ron, I have a 12 almost 13 year old Four Winds. I've had it for 5 years now. I'm finally nearing the end of my modifications and upgrades to make it my home. I've put nearly 60k on it and it's been fun. But I was wondering who sells those chrome wheel covers.
Hello Vern. Sounds like you have made a lot of upgrades on you RV. Ive picked up a few sets off of Amazon. Just type in chrome wheel simulators for what ever size your rim is. 16", 16.5", 19.5" etc....
The original owner bought it new and planned to winter in Florida in it. 2nd winter he had a stroke and the thing sat in a poll barn for 3 years, until she passed, and he went to a nursing home. Put a bunch in it to start with, including solar and now I'm catching up will all the small things.@@RonsClassicRVs
I paid 7000 for 89 Toyota dolphin. It’s going in for the safety inspection next week but it drove 50 miles without any problems. And it doesn’t stink. I really didn’t have to ask about it. Paperwork from when it was like I said in another comment inside where we done 2005 to 2006. I’m trying to find someone to take the toilet and black water tank out so I can put in a cassette, I want the booth taken out with put storage in it with a lagun table in the refrigerator replaced with a 12 V upright small one. And a new countertop. there’s a tiny bit of water damage between the stove and the sink from the water from the sink. that’s kind of overwhelming just to find someone to do those things so I can deal with it as someone who wears a leg brace. Wish me luck. I bet that’s gonna be a nice RV when you’re done. I’d love the old ones and I never thought I’d be able to handle one, then I saw the dolphin. I do like the post in it because I’m kind of a shabby chic type person and it will go good with my vintage bark cloth that I’ve collected over the last 15 years. I am a mixed media artist and I can’t wait to get to work on it. Wish me luck, but I can find someone to make those little changes without costing a fortune. I was the first person to see it after it was advertised and three people were waiting to look and went home unhappy . I knew it wouldn’t last so I bought it after through it. The seller told me not to be surprised that someone ask me to sell it. If I can’t find someone to do the work to make it easier for me to use I might have to sell it. But I don’t want to. That was a comment, apologies. I’m kind of nervous and excited. Painting it next week..
Your probably wrong about the millage. Older vehicles only had 5 digits, and reset at 100k to 0, always do a vin check, and the best clue is the numbers on the odometer do not line up.
Most mechanics will say it's a "5 hour job" because they're burning time to make money. It's a complete rip off, especially if the job only takes 45 mins, car dealerships are the same way, since they often work off commission.
You're the most entertaining guy on CZcams. From trains to RVs. Great restoration. I can't wait to see more.
Thanks so much Dale :-)

Very cool RV, great to see it back on the road.

Return line is most likely to prevent vapor lock, and helps the pump cool better.
Thanks for sharing. Keep plugging away Ron. Lots of work ahead. Enjoyed the video.👍
Thanks, will do!
Yer a real dude Ron! I like how raw and genuine this video is! 33%er !
Thanks Rick :-)
Let’s help Ron to achieve 10,000 subscriber on his other CZcams channel, Ron’s Classic Model Trains. Ron deserves it!

Older Rv's parts are built better but hard to find. Fixing up a older one the money spent will be a lot less than buying a new one. that's for sure
Hi, Ron, it's Ken, you're doing a good job. Keep it up.🚂

Now all you need is a boat (or maybe a horse, or two) to drain the rest of your bank account! Lol Thanks for sharing

Glad you enjoyed it!
That’s a lot of work to bring it back to life. Excellent job Ron. Very cool channel.
Yes a lot of work and $$$. want reliability while on the road. Get to them Train shows :-)
Like to see all types of RV's keep up the good work 👍👍👍

And you thought model trains were expensive... ;)
I did think that. I could have bought that BLI Hybrid brass Bigboy DCC and still been money ahead :-)
Should have done the timing chain while you had the water pump off
I wasn't in the mood to pull the pan and harmonic balancer. BUT.....the pan has a leak at the front of it so im guessing I will have another chance.

Have you ever rebuilt a starter? I used to, well around 50yrs ago. ;)
Hello Lynn. They don't offer rebuild parts for starters anymore. Well at least I cant find them. Maybe I should look into it, give it a try :-)
@@RonsClassicRVs I still have my books from college (1967-8) on how to rebuild starters, Generators and water pumps if you need to use them. ;)
What is your recommendation for rebuilding radiators and heater cores?
I use my local radiator shop for radiators but buy new heater cores.
