Corneal Topography is non-invasive imaging technique for mapping the curvature and shape of the cornea. It could be reflection based or elevation based imaging. Its diagnostic value in ectatic corneal conditions and as a screening tool prior to refractive surgery is of paramount importance. Hence, basic knowledge of reading the topography is needed.

really well made presentation, wanted to ask what value difference in corresponding points on the both pachymetery and the saggital map must there be for you to say there is asymetric thinning or steepening? thank you

In reply to your question if there is a inferior / superior asymmetry of more than 2D btwn 5 points taken in corresponding points both in the superior n inferior zones then it points towards ectasia in pachy any point below 470 is suspicious

What are the findings in corneal topography in a post refractive surgery patient??

In a case of post myopic LASIK , the cornea will be oblate with flatness in the centre corresponding to the ablation zone and relative steepness surrounding it. In hyperopic LASIK , it is the inverse , that is flattening in the periphery and steepness in the centre hyperprolate cornea.
