Right T. W. At 53 seconds in that production, a lady is putting gas in her old 1950s car isn't right. Nobody had to put gas in their car back then. LikeT.W. said, there would be someone taking care of Mama. Good old days, I wish I was there tonight.

In 1964, in California, even with the state gas tax, gas was 30 cents a gallon. Filled up my VW once a week for $3. The good old days. I wish I was there tonight.
    T. T. Hall was a good old guy. He wrote songs and sang for us. God Bless Tom T.

I was paying 25 cents a gallon from 67-73 when the gas scare come along to double prices on gas overnight and no complaints then all of a sudden we had plenty of gas. 100 octane gas was 33 cents a gallon until 73. This was in Texas.

you REALLY knocked the ball out of the park on this slideshow...this song is relatively new to me, and it is quite simply one of the best songs ever written...can you imagine yankee schmuck Bob Dylan trying to belittle Tom T Hall's talents? (he's got no alibi, he is dwarfed by Tom T's writing)....

WOW..........WHAT a FANTASTIC Job on this video......MY FAVORITE Tom T Hall tune along with OLD DOGS, CHILDREN and WATERMELON WINE....I hope you have a video for that tune too...WOOF.....
I remember growing up in this era so well like YESTERDAY....me and my girl ...this was us in this video...like countless thousands of other teens.......I will NEVER EVER forget the 50's and 60's and all of those FINER and INNOCENT ways of living. A CLEAN MINDED Environment and social network was STRONG and ALIVE....and no one had EARS full of cell phones and ear buds...and exercising only the fingers. We were still all out playing REAL COUNTRY HOME Baseball with neighbor kids and sliding down hill in winter up near Niagara Falls...all the neighbors came to ours...central located all the parents loved it..in central view of their own homes....My mother kept good eye on the kids....but back then...You get in trouble with the Neighbor lady, you sure ANSWERED for it again when you got home. NEIGHBOR adults were well respected and counted on for each other to watch over everyone's kids... THIS IS THE BEST song that describes my life and adventures growing up..."BACK WHEN GAS was 30 cents a gallon...and often times LESS.........we didn't have much money for dates but a dollar or two could go along long ways....Drive in and some 15 cent hamburgers / w fries....WOOF and some PEPSI or COKE in a nice cold...."BOTTLE" back then.................never seen a can for many many years later. THANK YOU for this fantastic job on this video. I hope you get this message.
KEN from Orlando, Florida, originally from near Niagara Falls, USA side.
