    Real journalism would point out that every home and business impacted by flood waters are located right next to and near a major waterway. Its not like this is happening in areas many miles from major waterways. It's frustrating to see all of the repeat flood reports then see a big river in the backyard of the homes & businesses destroyed. All of this makes me think of the weather channel reporters standing in a ditch reporting waste deep flood waters and then see people walking without a problem with water barely covering their feet.

    • @Debbie-henri
      @Debbie-henri Před 6 dny +1

      Do you realise what a 'tiny' amount $70 billion dollars is - when compared to what is spent on the US military every year, even in peace times?
      Or how about that 'trillion dollars' that Trump printed during the peak of the economic crisis during his term? I'm talking of that famous trillion dollars, which vanished in an hour as the stock markets continued to plummet regardless.
      A trillion equals a 'thousand billion' dollars. All gone in an hour, having done nothing, no good at all, not for the US economy, not for a war torn country in distress. Just another disastrous decision flushed down the economic toilet, and slapping another trillion on the US Debt Clock.
      So, America can well afford $70 billion - because I'm quite sure the current administration has already made a good deal with Zelensky for some deals on those famous mineral rich deposits in the Ukraine (which you wouldn't be getting if the country was to fall into Russian hands. That will all go to China, I have no doubt).
      Therefore, you must see the bigger picture by now.
      $70 billion is dream money to the likes of you and me, who couldn't even envisage what that much money could do. But to a government that throws many billions per year into social security, many more into the military, the war against drugs, education for all children, the building of infrastructure, justice and policing, fire and rescue services, goodness knows how much religious-motivated rubbish (and in turn, doesn't tax the church, allowing some of its various leaders to live on disgusting levels of wealth that rival even the Pope), and an increasing amount into the environment - $70 billion is next to nothing these days, especially considering the massive leaps in inflation on almost everything in recent years.

We see the jets that are nowhere to be seen , suddenly show up in big numbers, but the only place they fly is back and forth in front of the sun. The Dem leaders just proposed that we start "blocking out the sun" . They have been doing it for years . Every now and then they allow a blue sky all day, so does that mean all the airports have shut down? Sure think that would be on the news . I remember how the skies used to be . Contrails dissipate within minutes, Chemtrails hang in the sky all day. Plus you might try to explain the numerous times I have seen jets with huge white trails that suddenly stop and the jet continues to fly across the sky with no trail at all. FYI Climate change is very real and there has been a trend toward more extreme weather over the last 15 years. Temperatures have averaged over 1.5 C above the average of 100 years ago every month for the past 14 months. That has never happened before. Consequently, there have been an increasing number of heat waves that are breaking records all over the world.
      And because the climate is warming it holds more moisture and consequently extreme flooding results.
      With the increasing temperatures also brings increasing drought. With increasing drought comes worsening wildfires. We just had 2 fires here in New Mexico a week a go that almost destroyed the town of Ruidoso. The cause is suspected arson, but the cause doesn't explain the explosive nature of the fire which happened because of drought conditions, higher temperatures and strong winds.
      Climate change doesn't depend on you believing in it. But when countless agencies, scientists and countries are all saying we need to get more concerned about climate change than maybe it's time to start listening!!
