It is finally time to have my first jump on Jammy since we took a tumble at Bicton. The weather added an extra element of difficulty, so we headed to Solihull Riding Centre to hire the indoor.

Great job Meg!! You learned so much from each of the horses you rode!! Especially with Simon telling you to sit up and let the horses shoulder be free to work for you. So chuffed you learned so much!! So pleased with how much you learned throughout your vligmas of not riding your own horses. Love from a Retired Paramedic, a S&R Dog and Handler Team Trainer and Horse Trainer in Ontario, Canada, Jenn. 💖 🇨🇦🇬🇧
My horse definitely does back off more in an indoor than outside, so it’s not just you! I can see a massive difference in how much more forward you’re riding now and it’s great to see you and Jam back at it!
Well done meg! Everyone has those moments where they lose confidence and mess up. Once, twice, for a week. It's what you do after and how you overcome it that matters. Rebuilding confidence takes time, it won't all come back in one day. Keep going, we're all here for you!
Aww, good to see you and Jam jumping again after your fall! You are so brave and such inspiration to me ❤
Your videos always make my day better
Ur relationship with ur mum is so special, she's so involved in ur life. Can tell her life is all about making sure both u n the horsies r happy, really lovely to c. ur such a fab rider.. just love ur vids. inspiring me to get back into it at 40, so ty!!
i’m not a jumper or even a english ride, but sometimes there are barrel races in a indoor arena and my gelding slows way down he doesn’t even open up at all..i totally agree when you said sometimes they feel claustrophobic! it’s not just Jam!
Well done Meg! Congratulations! Seriously, you keep amazing me with every video you post. The new saddle is GORGEOUS. And those boots look fantastic on Jam!
Well Meg, just look at your last round, you didn't interfere with Jam as much so she gained confidence from YOU and never looked like stopping so keep watching it if you have time, also it was great to see Hobbit again, I've missed her lol 😆 xx
Lysm Meg you are such a incredible rider and a inspirational rider too definitely the person I look up to
Wow, congratulations Meg!!!!! I have been watching and following your journey and it was so heartbreaking to see you take that fall of Jammy at Bicton. we are all SO proud of you
Meg all things considered, you did so well. If I get a launcher of a distance I panic about what *could* have happened. Add on the fact that indoor riding is very different to outdoor riding which is a thing. You did great. Jam did great. Vlogmas has made a great difference in your riding because you were so mindful of this riding which is great. Hopefully the confidence slowly starts coming back.
Well done! Love the voice over because it really gives us insight into your inner process! I don’t have horses, I have working dogs (Newfoundlands), but I can really relate to you asking more from yourself and getting out of your own way…especially after you’ve had “bumps in the road” (you falling off). Great video! Thank you!!
U know your early when there are more like than views
I don't understand how that is possible though? 😂 I don't know if I'm being stupid but how can there be people liking more than once 😅
@@cerysmurphy4676 no same i can’t comprehend that 😂😂😂
It’s just that CZcams magic
@@sliperstone.ponies we love you tube magic 🪄 🤭
I saw a hack on tiktok of mixing softener salt in with your substrate to keep the arena from freezing -- bet it would work well in the UK where it never really gets super sub-zero lol
Good luck in London!
Horses absolutely go shorter in the indoor. My trainer always says she sets strides shorter in an indoor even for horses that go indoors all the time! Great job Meg!
Well done both of you! Super positive first jump back. Don't be too hard on yourself about feeling anxious, you had a big fall and it's only natural to feel a bit apprehensive. You did great!
Great school! What a difference in your confidence on your own horse!! You looked amazing! And fabulous piping😍
Well done megs
It was really great to hear you talk about the horse jumping you did woth Simon and Co and use the ideas from them . Wish they was more
Think this is my favourite I’ve seen you ride- you can really tell the change in mindset well done Meg ❤❤🙌
Hi! Meg you have always been such an inspiration for me. I’m a bit low in my riding right now but seeing you work through it makes me feel so much better ❤️
Wait omg I’m first!
MEGG!! you absolutely SMASHED that! so proud of you and jammy, gaining that confidence and going around a course 🎉🎉 this really gives me confidence when going around with my fresh winter mare 😅
You should be really proud of everything youve accomplished this past year, youre doing so well
That was so good for your first time back! I know how hard it can be after a bad fall. All the best at London tomorrow. I hope you and Jam have a blast.
MEGGGGGGGGGG
OMG HI IM SO EXCITED
It’s such an inspiration to see you get over this fall❤
I just in march got bucked off for the first time and my confidence was definitely shaken so it’s good to see someone else is having this fear as well😊
Can’t wait to hopefully come and see you and Jam in London on Monday. Very big well done :) x
It was so great to see you jumping with Jam. The new saddle looks amazing. You both did well, and such a confidence boost for you and Jam as well jumping in an indoor arena 😃
You both did really Well! A Fall like that Can be scary and a mental Block for a Long period of time! Proud of you both
I love how much jam enjoys her job 🥹
I recently retrained a mare who had only done arena work for the first 20 years of her life, and had never done trails before. She was going to be a kid's horse, but needed to get over her fear of wide open spaces. I definitely understand that Jam would feel different in an arena.
Well done Meg, glad you got back on!
Aww, so good to see you and your pony's again! I was so scared when I saw you fell!!
Well done Meg! Your back on Jam and jumping beautifully too!
Meg you smashed it! I just recently starting jumping again after I had a pretty nasty fall and this just inspired me to not give up because I was really beating myself up over it
I get you with the frozen arenas, such a pain. I had a dressage test to practice and all of the arenas were rock solid. Soo amazed by you doing jumping again. ❤
That last round was awesome Meggy!!! You know what you need to do and now you just work at it, 1% each day love 😘
Ahh I can’t wait to watch! I swear you are one of the best riders I’ve seen in my life!
I’m in Canada. The past week has been basically blizzards. To me there looks nice for winter! 😂
I just got back from Maui though, so I haven’t experienced it till today.
Very happy you got your confidence back, you and Jam looked very nice! 👏
Jam was very speedy and forward.
Well done Jammy and Meg! 👏 ♥️ 😀
Great to see you and jambam back your such an amazing team ❤️ love you two 🥰
Wow you both did great! I loved it. Jam has such trust in you. Well done. I want to see a lesson on her with Simon. Good luck in London
Slay Meg it’s great to see you getting out there and doing something you love even though you had a confidence knockdown
So happy to see that you are better☺
Awh Meg that's amazing!! You both looked incredible!! So much better than face planting the mud! Honestly that's one of the best ways I've seen you ride!! Well done, you should be proud of yourself
U did very well especially after a fall u looked very confident and forward ❤
You have been so brave riding these huge horses who are alien to you. Visualize success now with Jam et all Deb
So great to see you and Jam back at it again! Looking great. My horse is so much easier to ride outdoors versus indoors since she really "shrinks" indoors; it's definitely a thing!
Good to see you and jam back jumping you are so good ❤❤
I hope this has helped get some confidence back on her you and her are such a good pair ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ love thissss volggg
Looks great Meg! I can tell you are keeping your upper body more upright after your session with Simon too!
Well done for jumping Jam again! You did amazing when you got back on at Bicton ❤Love your channel Meg , love JambAm too 😂
She looks speeeeedddyyy ♥️
Good to see you back, can't wait for you to get flying changes established on her for the jumping, she'll find it so easy
Nicely done! Jam is so amazing and your saddle is gorgeous!
Well done meg! I actually ordered air up because of you! So exited to get it!
im so glad to see yall back ♥️
Literally all of your vids put a smile on my face! ❤
Can’t wait to watch and see u at London horse show!!!!! Ahhh am so excited 😆
At home, I have an outdoor and indoor. We don't use the outdoor much (that's my goal for this summer, trailering out to more places) to ride in both indoor, outdoor, and trailride/hack my horses get tense outside and need to be held up more.
Well done, Meg and Jammy.
Its so hard or me to try be confident after a fall or do something challenging, well done!
Well done Meg!!! That was amazing considering that scary fall at badminton!!!
I used to have that problem with my sand arena and iv got some tips for you to stop it becoming un- ridable I brought some magnesium chloride, a form of salt, that really help. Magnesium chloride helps to pull moisture from the footing, lowering the footing's freezing point so it stays usable longer.
But i found it wasn't enough when the temperature dropped below -2/-3 and with snow. So i brought a huge swimming pool cover (actually 2) and covered up the whole arena in these temperatures when i wasn't using and it worked great!
It's worth a good try!
Well done, good job for first jump since Bicton.
I love your channel! first time commenting, Alaska just got a huge freeze and it was -30--40 and everything is covered in snow and taking care of my two boys is fun! Not really
Watching this from bed after I just had a pretty good fall today.
So happy to jam back
Well done Jammie and Meg. Just thought I'd let you know Meg that here in South Australia we are about to have several days in high 30's/low 40's °C. I would love to send some of this heat to help thaw your yard. Yes/No !!!!???
Well done meg! You really are brilliant! And Jam Bam was an absolute star 🌟❤
Love that Han is back😊❤️
Your last round was lovely! 😀
Well done meg I love your horses
So proud of you Meg!
Something I look up to is the quote “if you are scared to do it , do it scared
Hi Meg, so nice to see you in my neck of the woods, I’m just down the road in Solihull. I go to Solihull riding school occasionally my friend has her horse there, my yard is fin wood equestrian centre, rowington. it has a huge indoor arena for hire and the staff are amazing. You should try them I think you’d like it. Who was your teacher at Solihull I might know of them? Thanks. Rachael. Hope you enjoyed Solihull
Oh deary me, your first haul is going to be to London in Christmas traffic on possibly slick roads. I feel like pulling a Hobbit, ‘Get down out of that drivers seat! That box is too big for you ! ‘. Seriously though, be careful, have fun and don’t forget to take piccies. I live vicariously.
YASSSS team🤩 Meg you rode Jam beautifully 👏🏻
Think you pull out when you stop thinking of the rhythm. Remember Simon saying rhythm, rhythm rhythm into every fence! Good job Meggy.
Can't wait to watch
After watching vlogmas with u on massive horses u look big on these lot
Next time your there I will come and say hello if ok with you , let me know as it would be great to meet you. I’ve followed you for years and always loved your vids. You Emily Tina and Lucy. Such inspirational people. I’ve learned so much. Especially after a 25 year gap of riding again. But that’s another story. X Rachael
YAY YOU HAVE BEEN CRUSHING IT BUT LOVE SEEING YOU HOME ❤❤❤❤❤ SO INSPIRED BY YOU CUTIES ❤❤❤❤❤HAPPY VLOGMAS EVERYONE ❤❤❤
With regards to pulling out of fences maybe think of it this way, you teach the horse that until they are up in the air they don't actually know if they will be going over the jump or not, so they learn to expect that you might pull out. It's not ideal for that reason and kind of messes with their head.
Lol, our arena is like concrete all winter, no defrosting happening.. it is also usually covered in a lot of snow... (not canadian btw)
I used to pull on the reins going into jumps, then I rode a horse who freaked out if you did that, so I hooked my thumb through the neck strap, and pulled on that instead of the reins, problem [mostly] solved!
Jam is looking so small after those big horses you have been riding.
sooo excited to watch your first jump on jammy after the fall! your confidence has come so far x well done meg x
I'm in maine USA and we are currently in a 3 day long blizzard and we lost power for 5 hours and it's -14 degrees f outside
well done meg!!!!!! and jam!!!
He he good you say for Uk..... We have had around minus 15-18 dergees celcius the last week but to day only minus 7 so it felt really warm ha ha ha 🤪
Amazing job Meg love your vids
Love watching your videos
Time for a renovation on the arena? Maybe an extension too?
Great video Meg.
“90 just keeping it fairly small” girl 90 is massive for me 😅😅
I love you meg!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🥹🥹🥹❤️
Well done!
Well done meg❤
SLAYY meg i love you and jam slay
it snowed down south a couple days ago😂☃️
❤️❤️❤️
Meg. It is time to start looking at long term goals and finding ways to free up time and energy to get you riding at least 2-3 hrs a day with lessons at least 2x per week. DIY is great but exhausting and it takes ppl longer when they aren't focusing on their skills. An intensive internship is going to get you more connections, more opportunities, more experience. (And exciting content!) ✌️😁
