Hi Guys and Gals
Welcome to the channel, My name is Loren, My house on wheels is a 2006 Ford cutaway chassy Ex Ambulance with a 6.0 diesel that I converted to a tiny home on wheels! For this tranformation I did a 4X4 conversion, and best of all I converted it to run on waste vegetable oil!! Ok I almost forgot the bigest question I get asked is about my background.
that thick accent you guys hear is Hungarian! So know you know.. What to expect from my channel is a mix videos like vanlifing, camping outdoors activities and lots of wrenching, along with some offroad and overland. There is a project that im most exited for and that is building out the Dodge Dkota and hopping that this fall ill be able to continue the work on it. So far its been mostly just waiting on parts.. You wouldnt believe the waiting time its just incredible..

It’s always refreshing to see you work Loren,showing everyone how to do it correctly,even if it costs a little bit more up front it saves you much more in the end! Not enough mechanics take this much care in this craft today and when good enough seems to be the norm you exceed all expectations!

I've been watching your channel since pretty much the beginning and I am constantly impressed by the depth and breadth of your mechanical knowledge. I wish I lived nearby! I have a mobility van (e250) that is low miles and in good shape, but have trouble getting any of the mechs around here to touch because they just don't have the kind of breadth you have. I'm so stuck! You really are a mechanical genius! You are so skilled and what is more, you are such a generous man sharing your skills with your friends and with people in trouble that you meet. Bless you.

I had a welder build a CAT TRAP around my shuttle bus’ Catalytic Converter for $300USD 3 years ago.
I bought 2 CAT TRAPs for my pickup truck over EBay for about $25USD each.
Spray paint the Cat Converter With High Temperature Florescent paint, and ETCH The Vehicles VIN Number On The Converter So wherever There being Sold don't want the ones with the VIN numbers etched on it, and spray painted because they can be tracked easier

Cats are stupid expensive. I work for Mitsubishi now and the RVRs are prone to cat theft. $4800 for a stock cat - just the parts. We fabricated some metal shields to rivet across the cat and they stop further thefts, but insurance won't cover them.

??? 2 questions:
1. Did someone steal the converter or did they just remove the bad one and, due to the expense & difficulty finding a new one, replace it with a straight pipe?
2. In either case, what damage does it do to the engine and performance to not have the catalytic converter?

Hi Loren for a"cat" that costs $1100 with discount i thinj a protective cage would be cheap insurance to help ensure that the new owner can maje it back home to New York state without having to repkace another one at full retail. That would certainty hurt the schedule and fuel budget. These higher clearance vehicles are a magnet for cat thieves. Have a nice day. Tom in the Maritines at the NB-NS border

Loren. Bit of advice. I'm looking at a Milwaukee Impact wrench for the van to take the wheel nuts off and on. Should I get the medium torck tool or the high torch tool. What do you think?
The medium will doo just fine The higher torque is ideal for heavy work like the bus and so , but if you spend the money get the bigger one It will be more versatile. ✌️

Loren I noticed you have an inside rim on the outside of the rear wheel. I didn’t know until they were working on my F450 but the inside and outside dually wheels are different. There not interchangeable so you might want to double check

It has been kotic couple weeks bu6t i been away as much as i cam .it has not bad up north coast finally got some fires out just north of terrace opened up the area again was out all over the kitimat river Just got back home base to process fish get restocked on some kinda food and laundry maybe do up some candy salmon and more fissing

Boy those leaf springs look really flat
its crazy that all those leafs rely on just the one layer on the hanger too.
ALL of the big girls have the same reversed springs. Just stole a pair off of an OBS Superdury Ford frame for my ambo. Positive arch, even used cast iron mounts (won't rust out). They were perfect reactivity.... had the ambo garage in my area do the work . They are good buddies. SO , mush easier on a rack like he's working on. Alcan Spring quotes me 1500 plus shipping, that wasn't helpers or mounts. . ... there is ALWAYS a cheaper way to do things . Be resourceful.
