    One thing I noticed abt ap's snake is that when he can't camp with his explosives it's a wrap.

      Frame 10 nair, -11 on shield.
      Frame 7 bair, -13 on shield.
      Frame 10 up air, -10 on shield.
      Frame 3 dair, -16 on shield.
      Frame THREE dair.......And all his aerials are pretty damn strong, do tons of damage and/or knockback. Frame 10 is not that slow for an aerial, its a little on the slower side, but its not crazy slow, and frame 3 and 7 just flat out arent slow at all. 3 is insanely fast. And while -10 to -16 isnt THAT safe on shield, its still safe ENOUGH for a lot of situations.
      The only bad aerial is fair, which is slow af and super laggy.
      The issue with snake's aerials are that they have a lot of endlag, but they're still pretty insane. Snake is a pretty good character even when he has to scrap. This is why a matchup like Ness is even rather than REALLY bad for snake, because even though ness can heal off grenades and stuff, snake can still somewhat scrap with ness with just his normals, so its not too bad.
      But yea, his aerial frame data is good, not bad. great startup, not super unsafe on shield, strong as hell, its just laggy if you whiff, so you cant spam it.

      @@eragon78 I mean, I see where you're coming from. His aerials are definitely strong, and they have their uses. I think the main issue is just that nothing is ACTUALLY safe enough to consistently pressure shield with unless you're crossing up.
      Most characters in the game that don't have a tether grab have a frame 6-8 grab. There are some notable exceptions (Belmonts, Zelda, greninja, etc.), but that's pretty standard. Grabbing OOS adds 4 extra frames if you were just in shieldstun, so most non-tether grab characters in the game effectively have a frame 10-12 grab OOS. If snake lands a fresh nair on shield at the perfect height, that's at best -11. So right away, any option that's 11 frames OOO or better would be a true punish. And since shield loses to grab, Snake's fastest option after landing that beats grab would either be his frame 3 jab or frame 3 spot dodge. He's already -11 (at best) after landing, so jab/spot dodge won't come out until frame 14, meaning any character with a frame 13 or faster shield grab (frame 9 or faster standing grab) can just get a guaranteed punish on any snake arial on shield.
      Now of course, you can still space/cross up to make his moves safer, but snake also has the lowest air acceleration in the game, so jumping in and drifting back to space just doesn't work all that well. So even though I agree that frame 3 Dair is amazing as an OOS option, and I hate the way his Bair is so huge and active, he doesn't really have a way to pressure shield from the air which is something that most of the other good characters in this game CAN do.

      ​@@austinwallestad1113 Snake has pretty solid range on his aerials like bair, and Dair he can move quite a distance while doing it, that makes them a lot safer spacing/cross up wise.
      Also yea, thats why I said like -10 to -16 isnt THAT safe, but its still safe ENOUGH because a grab OOS for most characters isnt a HUGE punish, just a moderate one.
      Snake also has an AMAZING tamahawk, because if he decides not to aerial, he can just land in front of your face and either grab you, up tilt you, or even sticky you with C4. (He can do that THROUGH shield too).
      And yea, Ill agree that Snake isnt like, super insane at doing this stuff. There are tons of characters who can pressure shield WAY better than snake in the air. But the point I was basically making was that saying he has BAD aerial frame data just isnt true. His aerial frame data is pretty good for what it is, and while its not the greatest ON SHIELD, it still generally can get the job done, and its safe ENOUGH (especially with spacing/crossing up) where he isnt usually getting hard punished.
      But yea, I mean at his core he's still a trapper/zoner character, so he's obviously best in that playstyle. But his framedata is good enough to scrap when he needs to. This is why he doesnt lose the match up to characters like ness. and while a character like hero may be hard, he still has SOME tools to deal with hero when bounce is up.

      @@eragon78 Snake has the worst air acceleration in the game, he cannot really mix up his aerials and cross up or fade back. -10 is pretty bad, that is shield grabbable by over half the cast.
      Now onto down air and neutral air, they are multi hits and you cannot consistently link into them if you are trying to rise and hit someone on platform, neutral air first 3 hits have very low priority and lose to everything. Neural air hit box doesnt even cover snakes hip so people fall out of the move all the time and because snakes air mobility is so bad you can't even drift around to catch people or mix people up. Down air lifts snake up so that on characters with a slim knock down/trip profile like joker the hits don't link consistently either. It's like saying bowser neutral air comes out quickly and does a ton of damage - the move has no disjoint, a ton of landing lag, ton of end lag, and has to rely on all parts of a multi hit move connecting. The only time you can really use down air is out of shield against players who don't drift back.
      Back air is pretty good, I still think the landing lag is a bit outrageously long (unfairly so compared to the rest of the cast, I am not sure there is another back air with this much landing lag)
      Up air has such a narrow hitbox that you have to absolutely thread the needle to hit someone with the strong hit of the move, and if you hit with the weak hit I have had opponents live past 150 at the upper blast zone
      Forward air is just a troll move, I think it is the laggiest aerial in the game (start up and end lag).
      While frame 3 looks fast on paper you are never going to be able to use down air in neutral and space it on someone's shield as a pressure tool. Same goes for all of snake's aerials.
      Snake is bottom 5 in the air

      @@robjones823 If "Slowly move and parry" Isn't in your arsenal of tricks, then maybe it is simply a skill issue... Different characters require a different approach. Unless you're Hero, in that case run to each side of the stage and choose from your list of moves I suppose. Liking your own comment is cringe asf btw...

    God damn snake is just the most unsatisfying character to watch. I'm a nobody so my opinion doesn't matter much, but anybody who mains snake deserves the L. They're not good, they just a well fortified camp.

    I have 1000s of hours against a high level Hero main. I can count on 1 hand the amount of times him being out of mana actually cost him a match/stock.
