Arrau went to play Bach on a modern grand piano after listening to his own recording of the Goldberg variations. The was in 1987 . His last recording was 4 Bach Partitas . That was in 1991 , 3 months before his death.
I hear that Arrau called it the roadrunner in reference to the 1st two notes.
