  • Uncut clip of Laszlo's coaching in the coaching seminar for Durham University Fencing Club which continues from Part 1: How to give lesson to Absolute beginner. Part 2 is How to give lesson to experience fencer.
Laszlo demonstrated how to give individual lesson to intermediate performance fencer who have learn basic actions in epee. By composing the basic action to be more advance, he also showed tips how the coach should assist the fencer to perform the actions commonly used in epee. Also, when the fencer was struggling to do the action, Laszlo also shows how to help the fencer to do correct action.
In this clip, it shows the sequence on how the exercise will be build up step by step. Laszlo also intentionally did not choose the perfect fencer to demonstrate the exercise because he wanted to show what would be the real problems when all coaches will meet when giving individual lesson.
The fundamental actions that epee fencers need to learn in order to use in their fencing such as Hit-Remise, Renew attack, Engage the blade and Filo.
This clip was made in November 2022, so you can see Laszlo in Movember :)
**Unfortunately, the clip cannot finished properly due to technical problem but we will put the last action to the next clip for everyone.

I fenced for 11 years, and stopped over a decade ago, and these videos are making me want to pick it up again. Please keep making and posting videos like this.

@@adriansaw8329 Yes Agree with you. It was frustrated to teach too but it is a coach job as most of our fencers will be like this. That is the reason why we did this video. It would not be useful if we choose perfect fencer to demonstrate as the real life, the coach job is dealing with this kind of fencer most of the time. Lots of videos on you tube mainly choose the best performer but for us we try to choose the imperfect one and show how to help them :) Also this is the demonstration for the coach how to deal with the problem that fencers have. I hope you like it even though it is frustrating to watch :D

I really appreciate seeing imperfect students.
As a coach I often am overwhelmed with what to work on. It seems to me that the best coaches know just how picky they need to be, and when to let things go so they can focus on one thing.
