  • I built a General XP 4 1000, took it out for a couple shakedown runs, and now I'm taking it apart, tweaking it, and making videos putting it back together. Just about everything I do on the General will apply to the RZR as well, they are essentially the same machine except for how the body is constructed.
In this video, I discuss what I did on my SXS in the interest of improved fire safety, since I lost my RZR to fire.
This video is technically part of a build series, but I'm treating each one as a stand-alone vid, so it will be easier to follow if someone is looking for something specific.

I don’t mind learning hard lessons from someone else. I was devastated your “memory maker” burnt up and the damage and hardship it caused to your home and family. I’m glad you bounce back better than ever and can’t wait to see it hit the trails 🙌 Best of Luck ~ Josh

Thanks man, it's definitely been some trying times, but as you say, we're better than ever 😁

Great video. I am glad you are getting things back together. For your trickle charger, I would like to suggest installing a Tecmate OptiMATE Cable O-40, Weatherproof SAE socket, panel mount instead of just having the pig tail sticking out and possible rubbing around. They are like $15 on Amazon. Polaris makes a Pulse Battery Tender Adapter that is fused and plugs into the bus bar that is very handy, but would not work if you have the cut off engaged. I have my Optimate on the hood of my Ranger going into the bus bar. On my Sportsman I used the Optimate in put it in the headlight pod to plug my tender into.

Why Positive cutoff and not the ground

I was always taught that the way electronics are designed, if they lose ground, there is the potential for them to become damaged, right at the moment of connect/disconnect. Losing 12v positive doesn't have that risk.
