- If you have multiple diagnostic tests for the same disease, how can you know which one is better? And if you have to choose a certain point as a cutoff for your test, based on what you will do that? The answers to these questions seem to be really complicated, but trust ATP, it is not! In today's video we will discuss The ROC curve and its applications, and how you can employ it to better deal with diagnostic tests. Enjoy!
Content:
0:15 - ROC curve introduction
0:55 - How ROC curve is built
1:58 - Sensitivity & specificity in the ROC curve
2:49 - ROC curve: screening & confirmatory tests (how to choose the optimal cutoff)
3:46 - How to compare between to diagnostic tests
4:25 - Accuracy
5:07 - How to calculate TP, TN, FP & FN using the ROC curve
5:41 - Summary

This was stellar. So clear and pleasant. Thank you so much!
Glad that it was helpful!
Thank you so much! Now i understood clearly!
Simply AMAZING🌹. In my book, there is something about flipped ROC that I could not understand. I appreciate it if you can shed some light on that part too. Thanks and JAZ.
Amazing thank you very much
Great explanation
But could you please clarify the meaning of “cut-offs”?
Amazing work, thank you so much ❤
Our pleasure!
EXCELLENT AND CRISP!!!
Thanks for this great explanation
Thank you for your kind words!
وعليكم السلام شكرا على الشرح❤
It is the best. Thank you
this is the best explanation 👍
Glad it was helpful! Thank you Meliantha!
Nice explanation, focusing on sensitivity and specificity rather than on TPR and FPR
Glad you liked it!
Well explained
Thank you 😊
Thank you so much this was so good
Glad you enjoyed it!
good job!
THANK YOU
Thank a lot 👍
No worries!
Thanks ATP😍
Sure!
Don't know how to thank you brother 🙂
It's our pleasure brother Ehsan! Keep us in your prayers!
MSA
Thank you
You're most welcome!
👏👏
How is the specificity 100% in the bottom left
What atp stands for?
Adenosine TriPhosphate, the energy molecule of the cell!!
👍👍👍👍
Walaikum Assalam
Can we say that
when I have a point A more shifted to the right and top on a ROC curve than an another point B
Then the cutting point use for the point B is always Higher than the cutting point of A ?
Or in other word can we say that the function Specificity (cutting point) is a decreasing function
for the algo
I don't know how to thank you.
