    Just got my Thunder out of the box last night and it's fully charged. I weight 165 lbs and the Thunder has more power than I needed around San Diego around 40 to 45 mph up hills ---wow!!! It's a beast with too much power for this scooter. This is my third electric scooters I owned, the first one is Ninebot D4, and the second scooter is the Qiewa QPower dual motor and my third is the Dualtron Thunder, is the one I just rode on today and it much faster smoother more power than the other two scooters combined. The Dualtron Thunder is a much superior quality made product in my opinion. I love riding my first two scooters and there is nothing wrong with it, but the hydraulic brakes and the power on the Thunder is amazing.... LOL... Peace.

    I love my dualtron thunder too. Took my first fall on the first day. Got too cocky and took a hand of the bars to wave at a passing scooterist. After that I went straight to the motorcycle shop and got a jacket and helmet. Bike helmet is not enough. Due to speed your body carries the momentum will cause you to smack your head. Luckily I had on a rinky-sink bontrager helmet for road bikes, but it was enough of a smack to wake me up to the possibility of a worse fall. One thing I wished theyd make better on the thunder is how wobbly the steering bar feels. It's not reassuring at over 40mph. You must check before each ride on streets over 15mph. Also, tip from my experience. If your going double digits, find a comfortable riding stance and stick with it. Shifting weight constantly can eventually lead to disaster especially on windy twist hilly roads with changes in elevation as we have here in winston salem.

    • @AlienRides
      @AlienRides  Před 5 lety

      Raynell Holmes oof, sorry about your fall and I’m glad you’re geared up. I haven’t fallen on the Thunder yet, but I’m sure I will some day. I’ve heard other datapoints about wobbles as well. You can try changing up your stance and getting lower. I think some people are also selling a steering stabilizer for dualtrons.

    Your Dualtron is a beast. I recently bought a 600 watt Speedway 3 (same manufacturer as Dualtron) for my commute in SF from BART to the Marina. It is a single motor but is still really fast and can do 20mph up smaller hills (I.e. Polk St. I’d be afraid to commute on the Dualtron- too much power and crazy drivers. Falling off at 40mph is almost certain death. Be careful out there.

      The Rion is nice looking, I’d love to try one!
      The 10X is most similar to the Speedway V I believe. Deciding is always the hardest thing to do, don’t forget to take local service, parts, and repairs into account when deciding on that.

      It generally depends on the state, but most states have legalized electric scooters now. In California for example, we are allowed to ride in bike lanes and in the road if there is no bike lane. So far I have never had a problem with the police.
