    The Fryette Power Station 100 builds on the success of the Power Station II and adds some useful features. This PS100 is an attenuator, but it is also so much more! From helping smaller amps compete in a gig scenario, adding a foot-switchable FX-loop to amps that have none, to allowing great quality silent recording, the Fryette Power Station 100 is a simple and powerful box that every electric guitarist can benefit from owning. This latest model in the Power Station series adds an extra level of control sets and footswitch control over the FX loop, making it an indispensable part of your live rig.
    You don't want to spend time and effort working on your tone, only to have it tampered with when gig time arrives: neither does the Fryette Power Station! It'll let you tame your large combo or stack in terms of volume, but leave all of the tone and dynamics in place, right where you need them!

    I was really hoping to see the DB difference with the ps100 fully attenuating.

    Isn't it true that whatever is in the effects loop doesn't get sent through the XLR out?

    This looks great but isn't it weird to have a 100W EL34 70's Marshall, where much of the fabled 'plexi sound' is in cranking those EL34s, and replacing that with (in the case of a PS2A) a 50W 6L6 power section? Doesn't it totally change the character of the amp?

      Thanks for watching!
      In regards to your question, as the Fryette sits in between the Amp and the Cab, all the work those EL34s have done will be going in to the Fryette... The power amp section of the PS2A simply amplifies the signal coming in which has been 'unloaded'. If anything, the Power Station would be perfect for pushing a Plexi to it's limit to achieve the tone you're looking for and then bringing it right down in volume!
      Hope that answers your question.

    So the power station is gain staging controller ?

    • @bjhale542
      @bjhale542 Před 2 lety +2

      In a roundabout way...yes. If one is pinpointing the extra gain saturation of the power amp tubes within your head amplifier by turning your master up and demanding an extra toll on your speakers...the fryette power station interjects the signal.... then takes that energy and consolidates it by harnessing that saturation of both the power amp and pre amp stages of your guitar amplifier into the harmonic gain characteristics of those tubes being pushed hard at a more reasonable volume.
      In addition to volume control... there is a depth and presence knob along with some additional toggles for warmth, bite, all of these knobs can color the gain characteristics. However if you don't want any of that additional color, the Fryette allows you to send a transparent signal of only the actual original tonality and harmonic bliss occurring in your amplifier without applying the additional color it offers.
      I have one and opt to use the additional color features. Additional I use the effects loop for pristine time based effects placed after all of that guitar amps preamp and power amp distortion harmonics. It really is an incredible sonic tool. Cheers. I am just trying to offer clarity and be helpful. I dig mine. It's a game changer.
