- Gorilla Makoua gave birth to her first baby on 24 October 2013. This video is filmed by me on 25 October 2013. She is a great mom!!! Even though she is hand reared herself she's taking care of the baby like a gorilla's supposed to do.
She is really good for a first time mommy......you could tell when you started the video she was nervous.....didn't know if she should lay down? Hide behind the wall? The cuddling when she is on her back she looks relax and so does baby he is looking up at her.....she is very protective....thank you another great video!
She reminds me of human 1st time moms- super careful & staring at the baby.

Saw a video where Makoua was rejected by her mother and how Staggart hand raise her. Makoua's baby is so quiet and just mellow. Love how the baby's eyes follows mum as she picks up her head . Great video Cindy T. It is so great to see a new mother and a new baby. Your write up on the video comes in handy when you want to know something. I was about to ask if the baby has been drinking when you showed it and put it on video. Hope all will be well for Makoua and new baby. More video's please when you can. Gorilla Mom Moja of Zoo Cabarceno is young and she is becoming a great mother thanks to her mother Kiji of Prague. Moja's baby is going on 6 months old. .

I'm going again tomorrow. I hope I can film Makoua and baby again then. Depends on where she's sitting. Inside she can be out of sight a lot. Outside she was too I've been told. Don't know if the weather will be good enough for them to go outside.

So glad to see the baby finally drinking towards the end. I thought something may have been wrong with the baby because it was so calm and relaxed almost lethargic. She seems like she's a little nervous but I think she'll be a good mom. The baby is cute. Do you know the sex of the baby?
Moja isn't 9 years old yet. She is 8 and will be 9 on 13 December. Moja already moved when Nuru was born. Nuru is born on 22 December 2012, Moja moved on 29 November 2011. So she only saw two baby brothers.

I thought I put it in the beginning of the video 'Makoua with her baby boy' but maybe not ;-) So it is a boy. I saw him drink a couple times during the 6 hours I was there.

Prague's zoo Moja that went to Zoo Cabarceno had a baby almost six months ago and the baby boy is thriving. Moja is only 9years old also isn't she? Cindy T. It is so fun to watch baby boy Kidude. Moja had the best teacher when her mother Kiji had 3 baby son's after Moja.

Did you already looked at more recent videos of him? His name is Madiba, so you can look in recent videos (well, recent ... I'm months behind, but there are some of him when he's older than 1 day ;-) )

Lord lets just hope she isn't like her mama eat all the extra food but won't nurse much at all.

What a nasty dirty cage. Is these the best they can do? Not even a fresh place to lay down with her baby. Shame on these zoo. And it look like she gets to eat tree bark, and what ever little things she is trying to eat.
You're so wrong. Very easy to sit there in the other side of the world and base an opinion on one video. I could tell you what's it like over here, but the way you state your opionion I'm not going to. Just stay ignorant for the rest of your life!
