Full highlights as China's Wang Hao beats Chinese Taipei's Chuang Chih-Yuan in the Men's Table Tennis Singles Semi-Final during the London 2012 Olympic Games.
In 1926, meetings were held in Berlin and London that led to the formation of the International Table Tennis Federation. The first World Championships were held in London in 1926, but the sport had to wait a long time before it was given its Olympic debut at the 1988 Seoul Games.

Because both players used to play for the Chinese army team "August 1st team", they are "soldiers", for the coach Liu Guoliang, he has a military rank "Colonel". In China, the "August 1st team" plays important roles in many fields like badminton, volleyball, basketball. etc., many famous Chinese players got trained there, like Lin Dan. Hope this answers your question~

.......
I love the reaction of Wang Hao's coach. He celebrated every point Wang hao got in the final sets
Wang how handsome !
Why is the winner spoiled in the title for those who haven't seen these before?
Maybe people who really care about the result would've watched it live.
+Hank ”王航” Wang That's really unfair to say. The point is that I feel it is just unnecessary to tell the winner in the title. Preferably the title would be the names of both competitors instead. Further information should be in the description.
What is the name of music at 36:15 ?
45:15 what's the matter ? What's wrong with WH's serve ?
he hides the ball with his free hand
One of the service rules is, that you must throw the ball up nearly vertical.
But in this case Wang Hao threw the ball to much to one side. So this is an illegal service and his opponent wins the point.
@@johannesferrer-wolf3701 Yeah, I think you are right. He repeatly threw the ball sideways into his body while serving.
he's been using viscaria for awhile. one thing that surprised me is he's holding the bh side on the fh like i used to
Very very good match! Thank.
amazing
amazing rally at 47:55 :P
Wanghao and liu coach is work in army
the slo mos make em' look so cool
Wang Hao `s ball is so powerful and has more spins that Chuang Chih Yuan can`t win him in multiround balls!
43:58 Looks like Chuang switched to Viscaria
With Want Hao it’s more of a battle of the Cho-Le’s than a ping pong match
audio sync 7.1 seconds slow
You don't want a new ball cause that would mean they had to play a couple of balls before they could go on with the match.
nice..
47:54
Oh come on Olympic, you know that the "spoiler" title makes this video so boring, and title like "player 1 vs player 2" is much better
I feel like Chung Chih Yuan looked scared to hit a strong forehand at times. There were several times he did a passive backhand block when he could have stepped around and been more aggressive.
Why does every Chinese Athlete salute the flag?
lol its just because they were in the military, i feel like china is even more of a capitalism country than the entire europe these years.
@@nickola1775 This comment really didn't age well.
