The exhaust sounds great and looks great with that tip. I'm a fan of the Optima. I do have it's little brother, the Forte. Thinking about changing the muffler on it. Did you have to get a tune after you changed your muffler? I was just wondering. I have no experience in that. Thanks for making this video.
Awesome I used to have a forte before my Optima! I didn’t get any tuning done after my exhaust work. For just minor exhaust work it shouldn’t require a tune since you’re not really doing much except changing the amount of air blow back the engine is getting. With no muffler you’re just getting less air blow back.

This tip added a little bit of pop to the sound of the exhaust. The tone is still the same but it makes little pops now.

Handling is great! I suggest putting it on some lowering springs and performance shocks or coilovers to give you better handling too. It feels like a race car now haha!

Around 30-60$ depends on the place you go to, cheaper places are gonna have cheaper welds, n more expensive places are gonna have better welds or the wire they use
Would it really sound louder if I have already straight piped my car and deleted my muffler and just add the exhaust tip?
It may not be a lot louder but it will change the sound a little. For me it added a little crackle and pop when I rev real high because the air is having to split between two pipes now.

I still have my catalytic converter attached but the rest of the exhaust is straight piped. I also switched from the stock tip to that UPower one.

Yeah it should sound pretty similar.
Do you think a muffler delete and catless downpipe would sound the same instead of deleting the resonators?
It will probably be a little louder if you take the cats off but leave the resonators but I’m not 100% on that since I never removed my cat.
Pleasantly surprised actually, I thought an Optima with no resonator or muffler would sound really bad but it's actually decent, little too much rasp.
Same here, for a non-sports car it actually has a decent sound to it. I am however thinking about adding a Vibrant ultra quiet resonator back to it, I’ve heard it can improve performance a little and get rid of the rasp/drone when you get up to cruising speed.
@@KDMCurt I think that’s the right move. A vibrant resonator won’t make it too quiet but it will get rid of the rasp and drone.
Is it 2.5 inch diameter pipe stock or did you have the shop change it from 2.25 to 2.5

KDM_Curt I already have an injen Intake on it and it sounds amazing bc u can hear the turbo spool up . But next I want to cut off the mufflers bc I heard your car and watched other videos and it sounds really good. Then either wanna bag it or get coil overs but they’re both expensive options so saving atm
Awesome! You should check out a blow off valve for that turbo too it’ll add another nice “whoosh” noise. If you don’t want to spend a bunch I’d suggest lowering springs and just some performance struts/shocks. Bags are nice but really expensive and the install is hard from what I’ve seen and coilovers are more for if you’re going to be taking your car to race on a track, yeah it’s nice to be able to adjust them but if you’re just driving it like a daily on normal roads you won’t need to adjust anything.

Yes, they also sell a bolt-on version of exhaust tip where you just tighten a few bolts around your current exhaust pipe.
Hey I got a 2013 v6 charger and I was wondering what exhaust tips for it. I just got 2 flowmaster super 10s and deleted the resonators, would these be a good fit and sound for my car?
I would check the paperwork or manufacturers website to see what the outlet size of those super 10s is. You want to make sure it’s the same as the inlet of the tips you buy. If you’re not sure just run out to the car with a tape measure and put it across the opening of the pipe, not the current tip because that could be bigger like mine was. They make this tip with different size inlets so just find the right size for you and it should sound great.
I bought similar one but cheaper they are dual aswell and look exactly the same do you think it will affect the pop and the back bressure because mine have a little holes to let the water get out what do you think ? Do you think it will affect alot ?

I didn’t get any special type of pipe or anything like that, it was just what the muffler shop had. If you take it to a shop they should have spare pieces of pipe to install.
Is it straight piped with the deletes?. I did a straight pipe with 2 and a half inch piping from the cat back but I want pops and crackles any suggestions?
Try a different exhaust tip like the one I got from UPower. It added some nice crackle and pop since it’s a dual exit tip. Yes it’s straight piped from the catalytic converter back now.

You’ll want to find out what size the outlet of that muffler is from where you bought it or online if you still know the specific model #. Then just match up the size to whichever tip you like they sell tons of different shapes and color options.

No, you can put an aftermarket tip on without a muffler delete

They do have tips that will just go onto the existing exhaust but they are just held on by bolts. I know people who have had theirs stolen before because it was just bolts instead of being welded on.

Will these fit a e90 bmw 328i 07. I know people mention sometimes you have different pipe sizes but all I’ve read online is most people have a 2.5 inlet & 3 outlet but I measured mine & got 2.5 inlet & 2.25 outlet. Did I measure wrong or is every car different ?

I actually just did a video a couple weeks ago where I added an air intake haha. Exhaust projects usually require cutting or welding so idk if I would call any of that simple. But other simple mods for the car could be a blow off valve for the turbo, an oil catch can, air intake, upgraded spark plugs, LEDs stuff like that.

@@nicklopez3728 only one way to know for sure, try it. I’ve been told putting a Vibrant brand resonator back on really sounds good but I haven’t heard it yet for myself.

As long as your exhaust pipe is 2.5inches in diameter you should be fine. I’m looking around online and can’t really find any definite measurements of the Forte’s exhaust pipe so you may have to get under there with a tape measure and see if it’s 2.5inches for sure.

They were $80. CZcams won’t let me copy the direct link from my description but if you go to the video I linked below check the description box and you’ll see the link for the lugs, they have a few different colors too. If you go with a different set just please make sure you go with FORGED STEEL and not ALUMINUM. The aluminum ones will break off on you. Also make sure the bottom of the lug is the same type that you currently have so they don’t loosen on you overtime. The ones I used are an “acorn” style.

What is the exhaust called
This is just a “dual exhaust tip” that can be found on Amazon.
If my exhaust tailpipe is 2in but the inlet diameter of the upower exhaust is 2.5in would they still be able to weld it together ? Is there a piece that can be put to enlarge my pipes
You should be fine. Most exhaust shops have a tool that spreads out exhaust pipes to fit tips. So going from 2 to 2.5 will be okay. You just wouldn’t be able to go down in size, because then you’d be crushing the pipe and there’s no way to weld crushed pipe and get a seal.

@@ddanielnavaa yes and they are still holding up really well. You can still see the blueish/purplish discoloration on the very end like it’s almost brand new.

I want a new exhaust tip and I want to delete the muffler on a 2012 Ford Fusion. Does anyone know what size inlet I should get for a tip? I think it’s 2.25 but I’m not sure and I don’t want to get the wrong one.

Yeah it should fit pretty good. I had the guy make mine stick out a little so you should be able to have whoever welds it make it sit however you want pretty much.

This can work for any exhaust system as long as the pipe is 2 1/2 inches wide.

Mufflers and resonators shouldn’t mess with emissions they are mainly for sound and airflow. As long as you don’t mess with the catalytic converter(s) your emissions should remain the same.

@@ridinwitjerm yeah most places will pass you with no muffler although sometimes they can be jerks about it, I would call around and ask before going.

Not really sure about that. If I were you I’d go to Amazon and put in your vehicle make and model in the “my garage” thing and see what comes up.

Hey quick question, does the 2015 Kia Optima EX have the same exhaust tip size as your car?
It should be the same size pipe (2 1/2in). So a tip like this one in the video should fit it nicely.
Tell me why I went to my local meineke shop to see if they would weld my tip onto my exhaust and they straight up told me that it couldn't be welded because it was stainless steel and they wanted to charge me 300 plus to have extra piping welded on to my muffler delete🤦🏽♂️
That’s a bad shop that is trying to take advantage of you. Take your hard earned money elsewhere.
@@KDMCurt yeah when I get paid I'm going to one of my local lower end auto shops because the lower end auto shops are usually way cheaper than going to the big name auto shops and they do the job just as good as the ones who work for the big name auto shops
I have a question with my muffler delete on my car if I bought a aftermarket exhaust and had it welded on to the rest of my factory exhaust would it make a sound difference or would it sound the same as it did with just the muffler delete?

Muffler and Resonator both deleted and this exhaust tip are giving me the pops. It’s a stock 2.4L engine, no big performance mods yet just an upgraded K&N air filter.

Nice, yeah I’m pretty sure since this tip splits to two that’s what’s giving it that extra crackle. It’s like $45 I think thru that link in my description if you want one. They also have other styles and sizes.

It’s not paint. The discoloring is from the way the stainless steel is brushed/polished. It shouldn’t fade.
