Experiencing luxurious haircuts around the world has become one of my favorite pastimes when I travel. I’ve done it in India, Pakistan, Armenia, Trinadad, Oman, Nicaragua, and others, and I couldn’t wait to get one in Iran! Come with me on my Irani haircut experience in Tehran, Iran!
Each haircut experience I’ve had while traveling has been completely different. The haircuts are more or less the same, but some also include head massages, body massages, facials, waxings, or hair washings, or a combination of them.

My friend Hamid, a.k.a. Mr. Taster, my guide Ali, and I headed to Master Cut in Tehran so I could get a full shave. The barber shop was really luxurious.
First, the barber quickly patted my ears with a flaming tool to burn all the hairs off my ears! It smelled like burned hair! Then, he added shaving cream to the top of my head.
He used the blade nice and slow. He was nice and thorough. I loved the feeling of the metal blade against my scalp. After he finished, he added more shaving cream and used the blade to give me a closer shave! Then, he applied alcohol to the my scalp!
Then, I asked for a full shave. He took clippers to get my beard, mustache, sideburns, and neck. He followed that by applying hot wax to my ears and nostrils. Those hairs grow faster as you get older!
Taking the wax off my ears hurt a lot! But I felt clean! Then, they applied wax to my nose to get the blackheads. While it dried, they pulled the wax from my nostrils.
Next, he washed and massaged my scalp, which felt amazing. Then, he also massaged my shoulders, which felt incredible. It was great!
Then, he added aftershave to my head. It tingled but I felt so good! I loved it. What an amazing experience!

David: just watched today's video. OMG Dr Evil (Mr Taster) is wickedly funny. We saw the agony and ecstasy of having a shave, the waxing and then the massage. Wow. Did you know that he lit the cotton before he burned the hair around your ears, because I could see the flame. Good video showing the difference between what they do there to the other countries. One tip for your blackheads and for your whole face: grate a piece of ginger and use it to scrub your face. Leave it on until you are ready to wash it off, with warm water only. NO
SOAP. Ginger is the most natural astringent and cleanser and it doesn't burn. Skin will become soft and clean like baby's skin. Watching and laughing give me so much jaw pain from beginning to end but it's probably nothing compared to what you felt in this one. LOVED the video. Glad I got in on the "live" earlier this morning. You really looked beat, so try and get some rest and wishing you and your family, daughters and ex a peaceful and restful Sunday 🙏🕊️🇹🇹🇨🇦

Bridge : The face forward the way he did it is better because when you lay backwards the part of the head and neck that rest on the hard porcelain sink is too near to the brain stem and that's not good. Forward washing is better than backward washing.

@@bridge2499 I don't know what sinks they use now but before I go for a haircut I always wash my hair at home and wash it when I return home. I have seen on CZcams that some people put a towel on the sink for the client to rest the head on

I want to ask you if Iran is modern?
Iran is a mixture of extreme modernism dotted with some traditional spots. Ever since the revolution some extra attention has been given to refurbishing traditional architecture. Even some people are reverting back to traditional design of new buildings. You have to see Iran to know what I mean.
