It's why those with the awareness to see through this constant and cyclical bullshit and come together is so necessary and dare I say, inevitable 🙏🏼
How much control, manipulation, lies, corruption, fallacy and delusion must it take before the conscious able build community again without fear of that which only wishes to obstruct and own freedom within this grand charade.
Back into van life next month, even if I wanted another option I can't afford it or am willing to sacrifice so much else to attain it.
Pockets of land to collectively share, grow, rest, be, must be the focus as this madness we inherit as 'reality' rapidly intensifies towards it's inevitable demise.
It's not easy right now for so so many, perhaps it never has been.
Boy this place is one heck of a fuckery.
Another lovely soul here, willing to not accept the crap presented to us by the program 👌🏼

It was also lovely to know I could go wherever I needed when I needed. I worked in health food stores and had many friends with children . We camped at the base of the Tetons for one summer. I am a landlord and some of my tenants are more minimalist parents, that also travel! They always joke how they get harassed for basically having a tiny home and not buying a home, yet they get to live the life of their dreams because they’re willing to live a little smaller and more flexible life. Obviously, financially it would be wiser for them to have a condo, but one bedroom apartments seem to be just the right size for a particular type of person who isn’t sure where they want to settle down. That said, most of my one-bedroom apartments has people staying for about seven years and when they do move out it’s debt free because they didn’t need to pay for an extra room and all the “stuff” to fill it. One tenant in particular was a single mom who love to camp, she wasn’t van life, but she take her car, canoe, and tent and they would travel constantly when she wasn’t at work.

    • @SRose-vp6ew

My encouragement is people can find a unique space. Something like an apartment over someone’s garage or next door to an elderly couple, there is the best of both worlds when you can travel and have a place to call home.

We mainly visited national parks, so bush and beach camping, 70 in total in 2 years and I constantly had to put the tent up and down, blow up the mattress etc and same with the bedding and cooking stuff. Constantly packing and unpacking everything. That was 20 years ago. I would have loved to have had a van in those days.

I regret giving my van away on one level, but a couple needed a home and i couldnt live in it back then due to my health ... I really really miss being in a van and hate being in a bungalow in an over 55's complex. Admire this young lady for going out and living on the road with a little un... Wishing her the very best.

I’m to the point where I’m going to get a bigger bus so I can have a kid and still be rent free! It’s so worth it with the amount you save and the time you get to spend with your child is priceless.

That is a nice big vehicle!! My van is the short roof version cause I can stand up in it with no problem. Lol! The midsize.
I'm so happy for her that she can provide for her & her child with this lifestyle. It's definitely not for everyone as she said. Nobody should be unhappy where they live. That happened to me so many times that I had to move often. 12 times to be exact.
Love that it has all those windows! I tried finding a passenger van for that very reason but had no luck at the time.
    Really love the layout!

I have virtually the same van as Beck (former mk7 minibus), so was intrigued by this one. There's still a fair amount of exposed bodywork internally, e.g. the back doors, which could do with insulating and boarding/carpeting otherwise they will condensate badly in the cold. But it looks like a great build and an interesting layout. Good on her for creating a more viable life for herself and her little boy.

People are programmed robot slaves of the system thinking happyness starts with extern factors like status, money, material things that means nothing and its relativ and an illusion create by society....working and buying stuff out of emptyness.
If your happyness depend on extern factors you will never be because extern factors are endless.
Happyness starts inside you. Sounds cliche but its true.
The more people around you, the more expectations, talk about others, comparing out of insecure, judge, negativity, jealousy, double standards, violent, sneakyness, own benefits etc..... reflection of their broken empty souls.
Alone or in solitude you have more strength, peace, power, happyness, freedom and time....

& so the very simple non materialistic life started. I've still got loads of stuff to get rid of, but I'm getting there slowly.

If she decides to keep the Ford Transit, would be good idea to de- rust and wax the underside if it hasn’t already been done as they are prone to rot . engines are bullet proof and easy to work on. I personally wouldnt go down the 7.5 ton horse box route. Running costs jump up & manoeuvrability options vastly decrease general freedoms. Just go longest highest van ie Ford Transit Jumbo would be my choice. Don’t go Merc sprinter, lovely but will bite bank balance down the road. Happy travels !

I agree. You just have to do what makes you happy & not care what anyone else thinks. They aren't living your life!
I get this often because I became too ill to walk without surgery almost a year and a half ago now. They would rather see me in an apartment but I cannot afford it & my van and apartment living was he|| for me living with CPTSD noise related. The Van was my answer to prayer from God. Its such a small space I don't necessarily "need" to walk far. It's challenging for me but living off grid is so utterly blissful. I need that silence to thrive unlike most people. I hope to buy some land one day I can live on legally.

I've been contemplating this for a while. But I can't find a van within my means. I just want a van as a safety measure, so that when things don't go as planned with my roommates, I'll have my van. Shelters have so many restrictions. Someone had found a decent job while living in the shelter, but the schedule of the job wasn't coinciding with the shelter. They couldn't cook they're own meal, no fridge.
