Sweden didn't have the borders it has today, and there were many chiefdoms and petty kingdoms where modern day Sweden lies today. The Gothic/Geatish kingdoms for example. But yeah, you shouldn't say one country only went that way or that way, since there are runestones in Sweden that claim that somebody died in England or whatever

Swedes travelled both west and east. And we weren’t one single United Kingdom either. South was dominated by Geats, Gotland by Gutes and the middle by Swedes (Svear). Most famous Swedish or partially Swedish Vikings were ingvar Vittfarne, Rurik, Ragnar Lodbrok, Björn Ironsides and some more. The Kievan Rus were only dominated by a Swedish/Norwegian elite, not populated by many Swedes.

The selection theory doesn't actually hold any weight since it would show up in genetic research, but Scandinavians are one of the most homogenous genetic groups in the world, not much changed since the bronze age which is when the cultural desire and value of blond hair gained status, causing many people to develop it.
If they did take a susbtantial amount of people from other parts of Eruope (not including germany and other nearby germanic peoples) then their genetics today would not show that much indo-european dna, but the freshest research from just a couple weeks ago shows that scandinavians hold the most indo-european dna in the world still, norwegians even hold the most yamnaya specific dna which would be mixed out very quickly if they mixed with anyone else in any substantial numbers other than the irish since they too hold alot of yamnaya dna. But they also hold alot of neolithic farmer dna which would show up very easily in scandinavians today.
Thats not to say that they didn't mix alot, they just didn't bring the people home to scandinavia. Those who mixed usually settled their own communities in other countries like half the known places on the british isles, a bunch of places int he baltic, and the start of russia itself. They just didn't bring those genetics home.

They are WRONG about the "Allemansrätten" (Right of Public Access). You HAVE access to be on private land!
This is how it works; "'the public has access to private land where no damage is likely to result and prohibition would be unreasonable"'. You can camp anywhere you want....in Sweden for one or two nights. (Not caravans dough....that's not real camping anyway) ;-) You can pick berries in the woods, climbing or hiking, fishing is free with rods along the coast and in the five largest lakes, you have to buy a "fishing-card" in many smaller lakes but that doesn't cost much. The nature is available for everybody.
With a few exceptions like peoples gardens, military areas and suchlike of course and with these "right to roam" come responsibilities; that is, an obligation neither to harm, disturb, litter, nor to damage wildlife or crops'"

Russia is a secondary power at best. Their population is declining, their economy is shit and their government is a corrupt kleptocratic mess.
So the biggest problems for the West are immigration, social & health related issues, crime and economics.

@@franzjoseph1837 unfortunately the bad comes with the good and we have learnt from our mistakes but you also have to realise that we aren’t the only ones who have been killing each other for over multiple millennia’s in wars, we aren’t the only ones who have enslaved others, we aren’t the only ones that have done horrible atrocities, we aren’t the only ones who have colonised other land. But at least we’ve owned up to these wrongdoings just like other European countries. So yes we aren’t perfect, nobody or nothing is, but tell me this if it wasn’t the Europeans who colonised it could have been Africa, if it wasn’t Africa it could’ve been the Middle East, if it wasn’t the Middle East then it could’ve been any part of Asia. It was just that we had the intellect, the knowledge, the technologies and the resources to be able to colonise and so we took advantage. So yes we did good things and we did bad things but at least we have the guts to admit to both unlike others. Tell me who is perfect?

@@amargwari2431 No, it is not per capita when you measure the state where the only thing that matters is the income of the state which mostly relies on population numbers unless we're talking about an uncomparably poor country.
Per capita shows us what people actually reap from that which is what determines population wealth.
You can also of course measure based on equalized percentages like what country is doing best based on their GDP compared to their population number then compare that to others. For example, would Sweden have a better GDP if their population was cut in half to match that of Norway and Denmark? Probably not.
But to actually answer the comment. GDP per capita is for the whole population. What pollution has to do with this I don't know.
