Seems I'm forced to leave this comment: In case I was not clear enough in the video - PUBLIC PARTY PLAY for acts 1 & 2 was a RECOMMENDATION ( & not a mandatory thing! ). If you followed my channel before, you would had known that I recommend party play on league start for most builds! ( especially for new POE players ). I will do after the patch notes an updated video regarding party play & all its benefits
first of all, good job. I will test the chaos resistance part as I hate chaos damage in POE but it seems that i will league start with your build. Maybe stating with rolling magma over HF is a better option and just switch from rolling magma to EA

I always have 4 or 5 league starter candidates on my list and pick one when I log in on league start day. Not this time. Had such a blast with siege/sharpnel ballista last league that I have to see how it performs on a league starter scenario. Let's just hope GGG doesn't do anything stupid in patch notes.
I’ve done this build before. It’s great if you like the play style, and with investment can be a great bosser, but I’m not sure how you can call it “tanky” by any means, regardless of budget
There are multiple versions. Are you sure you did my Siege Ballista version?? Its quite tanky for its investment and there are plenty of gameplay footage videos on my channel showing this. The regular Siege Ballista for example does not have dodge chance! My version can reach up to 83% dodge chance
Since i testes tha Ballista, and used your siege ballista twink level, for my alts, and it was fun ! i want to try this starter too next league, since i should play with other !

Played poison balista last league, will give siege Balista a try in 3.24 (love Balistas in general). In super late endgame I'll switch from Hiero to Inquisitor and get the "Ritual of Awakening" via Forbidden Flesh/Flame, so I'll have the best from both worlds. 🙂👍

Maybe was because of the WISP JUICING MECHANIC that we got in affliction league. Taking too many of those wisps can make the monsters 1 shoters or mega tanky! Good thing is that these wisps will be removed in the next league

Also do not worry about this build being nerfed! Few players play Hierophant, fewer play Siege Ballista. Is not even close to the META builds.. & GGG tries to promote build diversity. Usually they nerf broken meta builds. I posted my league starter now -> so that people have time to make the build and test it in T16 maps! If I was to post the guide few days before the launch, than few players would want to test it..

It can do ilvl 75-80 tomes with crap gear. But for ilvl 83 tomes you need better items! Siege Ballista is not a Sanctum runner for league start scenario. And is normal because you need specialized Sanctum runner builds if you plan doing Sanctum on the first days of the league. MANY BUILDS cannot do Sanctums on league start; especially high ilvl tomes. The good thing is that you can transition later to Shrapnel Ballista from this & it simply melts Sanctums ( even on a budget ). why dont you start with a sanctom runner ? just go pyroclast mines till maps -- do 50 maps , use essence farm within 3 hours you will have basic items for hexblast and you will blast sanctom on day 2 also i am thinking of Eye of winter mines deadeye as it is so strong on no investment
Really fun build to play, but there seem to be a ton of map mods it can't handle. Was hoping to play it all the way from league-start to endgame but the tankiness is just not there. I could see it maybe doing better with 150+ div invested (Progenesis, perfect 3 mod Watcher's Eye, double-corrupt chest with +1 levels and crit damage reduction etc) but at that point.. basically any build is fine. Have I missed something? EDIT: There are map mods that become problematic when your maps are fully juiced with *wisps*, sextants, scarabs. Alch+go map mods seem fine.

50 div is a lot for league starter dude n I m on console so it will be even more. I enjoy ur builds but 50 d is maybe too much for start. Will see. And the hirophant class hm? Seems I would need to start new Char if I start with him cause mostly I don't use this class for other builds.
No regen is the only one, but is doable with flasks. Less life regeneration is a bit harder, but also doable with a big life flask. Other that that, you're good to go

I tried this build and it's nowhere near the level that POEGuy is hyping it to be. Damage is average, maybe a bit above average and survivability is also average. This might be an A tier build but certainly not an S tier in my book. Play it if you like playing totems. I won't be league starting with this.

Many players rush just for the POB and miss essential build interactions thus breaking their build. Happened so many times that it drives me crazy already! Why not….i seriously don’t expect siege ballista to be nerf and its a safe start. And most of the time when they nerf a skill it’s still viable for starting its just not op anymore. But yes it happen a few times they broke a combo that makes a skill not enjoyable to play. But most of the time its players crying their op skill is not op anymore😂.
Man, literally no one plays this. Only 5% ppl play Hierophant, from that only 3% use Iron Commander. This was, is and will fly below radar, so chances for nerf or sth, we can only get buffis like in Affliction.
@@jakubmucha6629Precisely. This build had little changes over past years, last league even boosted it with the gem changes. Most totem hierophants are str stackers/dedicated sanctum runners or some boss cheese specials, so this is really an underground thing built on items noone else really uses. Atm there is 90 siege and 150 shrapnel balista toons on poeninja, compared to 1000+ toxic rain pathfinders. On day 6, there was 0 hierophants vs 7200 pathfinders at 90+ (1300 of which played toxic rain). As someone said, all poe builds suck, until some tastemaker decides to try it and then everyone follows. So far, tastemakers do not play hierophants or totems for that matter so we can enjoy this relatively cheap.
If you use your brain slightly when the patch notes drop then you can tell how buffed/nerfed it will be. It's good to have a baseline before the changes happen
confused. you make this video and claim it's your best league starter but in the first video you mention watching you talk about how you do 1% damage and you just get carried through the acts cause you do the campaign in a party. What a joke. If anyone is thinking of league starting this, just don't. He even says its almost mandatory to league start with a party so you can just get carried while doing nothing with this build.
That is your problem & your personal opinion. Build is great, was tested by a couple hundreds already. Don't like, don't do it. Also party play is a suggestion and NOT A REQUIREMENT

This build is great. You have to play it on trade due to the uniques needed. I've played it first for 4 leagues and enjoyed it each time.

Craghead + widow hail ethereal knives of massacre IS pretty good aswell for blasting but i think Will be nerfed in 3.24

My biggest sticking point in going to red maps with this build, I got a wall at 1200 Dex

I tried this build and it's nowhere near the level that POEGuy is hyping it to be. Damage is average, maybe a bit above average and survivability is also average. This might be an A tier build but certainly not an S tier in my book. Play it if you like playing totems. I won't be league starting with this.
Go on my Discord channel now and show me your POB. One thing is to play it, other thing is to make the setup right. Many players rush just for the POB and miss essential build interactions thus breaking their build. Happened so many times that it drives me crazy already! Tag me with your POB and tell me your youtube name

This is a common question; Ill copy paste a previous comment: "It can do ilvl 75-80 tomes with crap gear. But for ilvl 83 tomes you need better items! Siege Ballista is not a Sanctum runner for league start scenario. And is normal because you need specialized Sanctum runner builds if you plan doing Sanctum on the first days of the league. MANY BUILDS cannot do Sanctums on league start; especially high ilvl tomes. The good thing is that you can transition later to Shrapnel Ballista from this & it simply melts Sanctums ( even on a budget ). No. This build was made for softcore. Is fairly tanky on a budget, yes. But it is not for Hardcore! ( it will die )

Why not….i seriously don’t expect siege ballista to be nerf and its a safe start. And most of the time when they nerf a skill it’s still viable for starting its just not op anymore. But yes it happen a few times they broke a combo that makes a skill not enjoyable to play. But most of the time its players crying their op skill is not op anymore😂.
Man, literally no one plays this. Only 5% ppl play Hierophant, from that only 3% use Iron Commander. This was, is and will fly below radar, so chances for nerf or sth, we can only get buffis like in Affliction.
@@jakubmucha6629Precisely. This build had little changes over past years, last league even boosted it with the gem changes. Most totem hierophants are str stackers/dedicated sanctum runners or some boss cheese specials, so this is really an underground thing built on items noone else really uses. Atm there is 90 siege and 150 shrapnel balista toons on poeninja, compared to 1000+ toxic rain pathfinders. On day 6, there was 0 hierophants vs 7200 pathfinders at 90+ (1300 of which played toxic rain). As someone said, all poe builds suck, until some tastemaker decides to try it and then everyone follows. So far, tastemakers do not play hierophants or totems for that matter so we can enjoy this relatively cheap.

If you use your brain slightly when the patch notes drop then you can tell how buffed/nerfed it will be. It's good to have a baseline before the changes happen

confused. you make this video and claim it's your best league starter but in the first video you mention watching you talk about how you do 1% damage and you just get carried through the acts cause you do the campaign in a party. What a joke. If anyone is thinking of league starting this, just don't. He even says its almost mandatory to league start with a party so you can just get carried while doing nothing with this build.
That is your problem & your personal opinion. Build is great, was tested by a couple hundreds already. Don't like, don't do it. Also party play is a suggestion and NOT A REQUIREMENT
