    You might want to put a barrier between those pavers and the pool liner. Like a piece of tarp, to keep the paver from rubbing a hole in the liner. The motion from swimming and such causes movement and will rub a hole in it. Great pump and filter upgrades. That Hayward skimmer is the only way to go.

      The dirt is leaveled even around the pavers to pad the liner from rubbing.
      My oregional plan was to use insulation foam. Dirt was easier and I had plenty of it.

    Nice filter/pump upgrade. Yeah the filters that come with these pools are junk.

      Agreed I see pol that up north where they don't see 100 degree weather always saying how great the pump is that comes with it lol and I'm like yeah Tn is humid and hot the last pool I ran with the original pump it stayed green a lot even with good phone and chlorine the pool walls got slimy to

    I just got a pool in mid May, same design as yours but one month out it has faded alot. Do you condition the outside vinyl on your pool? It looks good.

    I love the pump where you get the pump

    I didn't do the pavers because I believe the sharp edges will cut through the vinyl eventually...

      Most likely will, that's why my pool is on a concrete slab.
      Yeah it added a lot to the cost, but it gives the pool (which is close to 130K pounds full) a solid base and it looks better than having a tarp under it

    So I’m about to turn my new pump on and was curious do I need to ground or bond the new pump to a Coleman pool like yours?

    • @DefinitelyNotSpam
      @DefinitelyNotSpam Před 3 lety

      Yes, and all metal within 5 feet of the pool should also be bonded.

    Nicely done, I just finished up something similar, but have a question for you. Where did you find the screens for the return inlets?? Ive been looking everywhere for something like that with no luck.

      I'm working on a similar project and I've decided to just 3D print screens. I'm using shower pan drains for my outlets and the original Coleman inlet modified with a directional elbow to cause a clockwise rotation in the pool water.

      I found them on ebay under hayward safety grate fitting.

    Those Coleman poles are super thin. Mines bending too easy and already starting to rust. (One month)

      Mine is best way same design and did the same.

    What is the name and part of the strainer connected to the Hayward 1 1/2 fip fitting? Searched everywhere couldn’t find one.

    How is your skimmer working out raised to the level that you have it? I am going to be putting a skimmer on my Colman Vista Pool, and all the other videos that I have seen people have them lower below the brown area. I also want mine as high as possible.

    • @paul5276
      @paul5276  Před 3 lety +1

      thanks for asking. Its 1 to 2 inches to high I did this on the cheep. if i could do it again i would use a wide mouth skimmer and find one taller if they make them
      To answer your question it works great. Cant let the water get to low.

    • @DefinitelyNotSpam
      @DefinitelyNotSpam Před 3 lety +2

      It should be all on the white, not partially on the woven design, as per Hayward's recommendation
