    I like scarves. I do most of my knitting at work and it's easier for me to put down a rectangle without dropping a stitch.

    Thank you!! I credit you for so much! The growth of my knitting confidence!! All the projects I’m working on (mittens, baby blanket, squares for an Afghan) and the new stitches I attempt to learn. Plus the patterns that I’m attracted to as I’m searching for my next fun project - I think after 20 years I feel comfortable thinking of myself as an experienced beginner! - and it’s mostly due to you and your videos!!! THANK YOU!!

    This was a great video. I remember it took me two years just figure out how to cast on. And other year before I finally found a video and realized that I could not learn knitting by reading a book. Your point on when you are an "adult", you think that you are supposed to be a pro right then and there. I know for myself that was the case. And I know that if it was not for my child like wonder of a taking a bit of essentially string and making something totally different, I would not kept trying and growing to love knitting, having multiple WIPS, and my Holy Grail project, a Cashmere Blanket, King Size. Thank you!

      Hi Komy Kom, I'm really glad you enjoyed the video and found some points you could take from it. It's great to hear you stuck with knitting through the growth period and now you have lots of WIPs going! Best wishes on finishing the Cashmere Blanket! 😀

    I learned Eastern European Continental in the back of the loop knitting. I also purled backwards. I didn’t know that, it was how my mother taught me to knit.
    It was so frustrating to re-teach myself how to knit and purl.
    My first sweater is a DISASTER!!! But I still persevere because I love knitting!!!
    Thank G-d for CZcams videos!!!!! Keep them coming ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

    These were wonderful tips and this video is a great demonstration of why I sign up for all of your bootcamps. I first found your videos as a very, very new knitter and instantly felt safe and welcomed into this new community. You helped me fall in love with knitting and I will be the first to tell you that I am not very good and still make crazy mistakes but happily every knitting session becomes a comforting opportunity to learn and improve. I'm hooked and am so happy to be able to do an activity just for fun and the bonus is, I get to be in a new community. Thank you Nancy!

    As a beginner I struggle with being able to fix a mistake on the same row while i am knitting. I watch video's on tinking, frogging etc but just can't seem to figure out how to fix it right as it happens on that row.

    • @nobleknits
      @nobleknits  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Dianne, I completely understand your frustration! When you are new to knitting, it's difficult to see what is happening while it is on the needle. However, the mistake is down a few rows, it's obvious to see that something went awry. That means a lot of TINKING in the beginning. As you improve, you won't make as many mistakes and when you do, you'll be able to catch them much quicker. My biggest recommendation is to count the stitches when you finish EVERY ROW. It will save you a lot of ripping. Hang in there...it gets better, I promise! 😀

      Hi Nichole, I'm so glad to hear you found the video helpful. Yes, when it comes to knitting, we are way too hard on ourselves. I also was a crocheter first and then learned to knit. Have you tried continental knitting? The way you hold the yarn is like crocheting but with knitting needles. When I learned this method it was a game-changer. czcams.com/video/852OwkobTPc/video.html

    Good advice. I would really like to knit. I took a class 20 years ago at Joann’s and made a scarf. I’ve purchased lots of yarn and needles but always give up because I make a mistake and can’t figure out how to fix them. Can you make a video on common knitting mistakes and how to fix them? There are lots of videos on how to knit but not many on what to do when you make a mistake. I even learned how to crochet so that I could fix dropped stitches. Personally, I prefer crochet because mistakes are easier to fix. If I frog I don’t need to be afraid of ripping out too many stitches as I would with knitting. I do love the look of knitting and would love to make socks.

      Hi Jas 262, Yes identifying and fixing mistakes is a problem many new knitters struggle with so a video about it is a really great idea! I also have beginner knitting courses that help with that: www.nobleknitsu.com/courses/advanced-beginner-knitting

    Thank you! I am a crocheter for a while and I just started to learn to knit. Getting very frustrated and feeling pressured. Why? I don’t know, maybe just a lot of expectation on myself. I think I am also goal oriented and want to see the finished project quickly. I love the feel of a knit project but it seems so much more time consuming and slower than crochet, and when I make a mistake so hard to correct. I have only a few projects under my belt. A plain knit scarf, a rib scarf where I learned the purl stitch, an eyelet scarf where I learned to do k2tog, and a pair of fingerless gloves where I just learned to do the stockinette stitch. Anyways, I’m so glad I found your channel and your voice is very calming. You put everything in perspective for me. So, again, THANK YOU for your tips! 😊💕

      Hi Laura, I also started out as a crocheter so I understand the adjustment from crochet to knitting. Have you tried continental knitting? It's like crocheting with your knitting needles! My knitting really took off when I changed to that method. Here's a link to it: czcams.com/video/852OwkobTPc/video.html Also, I have quite a few online courses that are geared towards your knitting level. You can check them out at NobleKnitsU.com - I think you'd get a lot out of them. You may also want to join my private Facebook group...you'll meet hundreds of knitters going through the same challenges. facebook.com/groups/nobleknits PS. Thank you for your reply. Yes, that’s how I knit, continental style and I have seen that video. I think I just have to relax and loosen up my tension. I see in your video how everything is loose and relaxed. I am not on Facebook, but thanks for the invite. I will definitely continue to practice and to relax and just enjoy the process. Blessings! 💕

    • @nobleknits
      @nobleknits  Před 3 lety

      @@laurasalgado934 Here are some of my tips for loosening up. 1. If you lean your right hand back as you knit, it will make it easier to work the stitches. 2. Make sure you are getting each stitch up onto the widest part of the needle. 3. Don't tighten your stitches after you knit each one. I hope some of that helps! 😀
