We were very happy to have had the super alternative Phat Bollard over to Bahrain for one of our 2 Seas Sessions. Phat Bollard are a travelling Cornish busking band. Hailing from Cornwall, England, they survive by busking the streets, touring the UK and living out of their van. Generally a five piece unit featuring two guitars, mandolin, washtub bass and percussion, they raise a ruckus with joyful noise and highly nuanced songs that deal with some of today’s most important issues. They travel around the country playing in different towns and cities as they go. They sometimes take bookings for festivals, gigs and private functions if they like the sound of them and it seems 2Seas Sessions was something they liked the sound of.
They shot into the public eye in may 2015 when a video of them busking ended up on the BBC and they haven’t looked back since gathering quite a following around the world.
Other 2Seas Sessions include Neil Cowley Trio, King Size Slim, Wizz Jones, Muntu Valdo, The Leisure Society, The Rising Souls, Digby and the Lullaby.

I had the privilege of meeting this amazing team of Phat Bollard in Exeter City Centre on 28 April 2018 . They sing with meaning and passion against issues on injustice! Best among street singers. They are brilliant. Please watch all other videos by them.
They all have such an original sound, and the vocals are so beautiful and unusual and raspy. Love it

YES! Sadly, they broke up. But the good news is they have a new group called Slack Mallard. Check them out on Bandcamp. I've been trying to bring them to Brooklyn & the US to tour for a while, just need some funding...

This is a great song but the young skinny guy whose name I do not know is the vocal soul of this group. I like this song, but if he is not the vocalist it just doesn't have the same impact.
