I was struggling to buy a Thruxton, because I had only super sport motorcycles. Now I’m looking for a classic one. I just saw maybe 20 reviews of the Thruxton 900, all they were made by old people cruising 50mph. I was thinking that bike is that slow 😂 thank you for showing me, I was wrong. Now I know this will be my next bike. I really like your driving style, we’re the same type of motorcyclist. Dynamical cruising, without unnecessary breaking rules. You’re top 👍🏼
Hey, thanks for you kind comment. It is definitely not the fastest bike out there, especially when you're used to super sport bikes. But it can still get you in trouble 😅 Torque wise you might be disappointed though, considering that you're used to quicker bikes. You might want to testride a Thruxton 900 before actually buying one. Also, I would recommend testriding the 1200R or 1200RS model as well, they have more "oomph" and way better handling. On the downside, these newer models don't have the same classic look as the 900. They still look sick and retro, but a bit more modern. Hope that helped ⚡👍

Amazing video! Its just the best feeling in the world carving up a long twisty road in the forest.
My Yamaha makes exhaust noise similar to your Thruxton when ridden vigorously....it gives you good feedback . Being a 1900 cruiser it is not a cafe racer though you can still visit a barista and buy latté . My other bike is a zx14 R and despite having no baffles is way quieter. It makes great air cleaner fairing induction noise at high revs, though by then you are going that fast your senses have a narrow focus,basically two things....stay free of traffic and squeeze down under the screen. On that bike you rarely not need to change down a gear and you never see any scenery. The motor is so flexible you can approach a road train , hang back a 100 metres and with slight amount of extra throttle overtake and easily be travelling at 180kmh. 3/4 throttle will see excess of 200+...by then its just body feedback and holding your line for rentry into visual senses and coping with turbulence from the truck and its two trailers. The road surface is usually uneven but no potholes and invariably straight as they tend to clear all the trees as they widen and renavigate the routes from their original paths around field boundaries or massive trees or approaches to rivers or creek beds.

I like that you have a proper brake fluid reservoir and not a clear plastic. My '08 has one and the plastic has become old and brittle..

2013 Bonneville here. The matte black and cranberry SE with 17" cast wheels, speedo and tach, TORS mufflers, Thruxton fly screen painted to match the bike. I agree with Rory The Red. Ride the torque curve, listen to the music that motor makes.

Thank you but no more or less awesome than yours. Just trying to show the similarities in our bikes. My bike also has the 20507 tune, center stand and a short backrest to give my wife a more secure feeling behind me. In fact I bought "Bonnie Tutone" because of the relatively flat seat and upright riding position. It's perfect for our type of riding which seems similar to yours although at a more relaxed pace. "Olive Thedieselduc" is another of my bikes.

For my taste it's also to fast. Especially in some situation...01:54...right side parking slots. It wouldn't be the first time that a stupid car driver drives back directly on the road. At 03:22 younsee the situation I mean. White car drives backwards. I assume you didn't see it really (because you speed up) These are some of the typical accident situations

Pipes are by REMUS, they're the ones for the air cooled Thruxtons. I installed racing baffles to enhance the sound 👍⚡️

Sounds great and I'm sure looks great too, but how do you spot your barends? Mine I have upright. I like being able to give a glance without having to twist my arm just so. Sounds sweet though.
It works surprisingly good actually. I can see the mirrors without having to move my arms or wrists out of the way. I do have this problem on my 1200R, though, which is why I will switch back to the stock mirrors next season.

Thanks! They're generic mini bar end mirrors from eBay. All you need is slightly longer screws for the install, it's pretty straight forward 👍⚡

Great video! One word of advice though - get some better gloves/gloves with wrist bands/etc - anything that will keep them from immediately sliding off in an unlikely event of an accident.
