The costumes were not entirely historically accurate- least of all the corset scene.
They were so amazing! They even won an Oscar for costume design.
I actually bought the patterns for the dress she was going to jump in and the gorgeous (and my favorite... the blue dress). I had the jump dress made and wire it to a costume party because I could not find the right material for the other one!!

Such perfect directing by James Cameron. He didn't have Jack just look up at Rose but it was the doubletake...that first glance then the look. Perfection.

I was 11 or 12 when I first saw this movie. And I was saddened for the whole week I couldn’t accept the fact that Jack died. Oh my young heart was shattered 😅

I liked how this scene ties in with the ending which is my favorite. After she passes, she rejoins Jack in a gorgeous white gown as everything comes back to life. This time she climbs the stairs. Everyone clapping. A beautiful meaning of meeting again after passing.

Titanic is back in cinema in 3d !!!!! And 4k !!! Even here in Germany! Ive watched it last saturday with my girlfriend but after 30 minutes a wiman and i quess her nieve appeared and he was always talking so everyone above him started popcorn attacks on them ahja btw his aunt used her smartphone to capture some pictures during the movie but we was able to teach them a lesson :D
So i decided to go to another Cinema in my town Hamburg.

Still love the hidden symmetry in this movie. If you caught it, Roses walk down the stairs, is the time that their relationship started with. Then at the end, her walk up to Jack. A completely symbolic ending to their life as mortal beings. 🌹
Because at their meeting, meeting jack could lower her position, but turned he ''raised'' her by telling her all his values and made the independant woman she became
At the end of the movie she again "meets [him] at the clock" as she did before they went to the dance etc.

There is so much chemistry here. This is my favorite part of the film. Second is when they first see each other on the deck. Third is them below decks dancing. So much fun. I love attraction. And you could feel it throughout the movie.

One of my favorite movies, saw it in the theater at least 25 times when it came out. My sister and I would ditch work and go have a "Titanic" afternoon. Leo and Kate's chemistry melted the screen-what a beautiful couple.❤
I was 9 when it came out but convinced many different family members to take me back then. Now, I'm ditching work age and just came back from a Tuesday morning viewing (my third for the re-release). I'm definitely going at least once more before it leaves the theater. I'll never tire of this movie no matter my age 😍
@@survivorellie I had such a hard time going as a young adult, and also watching because of the horror of the ship going down and knowing what that meant, I do not know how young people were able to watch this. I had so much dread, as lovely as it was. Now I could watch again, but it has taken all these years because of the dread, and I was angry at 'KW' for not rescuing 'Jack' from the water because I was always a woman who wouldn't give up. I don't know if her heavy clothes saved her life, protecting some heat? You would think the heaviness might have pulled her under from exhaustion. Anyway, I know there is artistic license but I was so upset she didn't save Jack right back. He loved her so. Of course, love at first sight.

This dress is my favourite of all Rose’s outfits in the film - I think it perfectly encapsulates her character…shiny dark and subdued on the outside as any ‘polished society woman’ was expected to be at that time, and underneath a lush floral pink that represents her passion and love and everything else Jack sees in her

I thought everyone by now knew what a nickelodeon was and it still surprises everyday that they don’t. You’d go pay a NICKLE in a big wooden box and and there was an eye rest where looked through and essentially watched a view master show you a short “movie”. Crazy how many people never listened in history class and let their televisions be their education. (They’re not the same).

Does anyone think there’s some design there that Jack is like a divine angel? Right throughout he’s encouraging her and giving her hope without hesitation and that she’ll be fine. There’s a quote from him at the dinner also where he says he currently lives on the Titanic and after that he’s “on God’s good humour”. The slogan of the film is “Nothing On Earth Could Come Between Them” too. Quite a few details that could be interpreted as him being one.
I love how after Cal and Ruth passed by and ignored Jack, Rose came down and lit up, looking at him like he was the only reason she is there all dressed up.
I know that feeling of going somewhere only because you know that special someone will be there and your whole night being made when you spend all night together, those are memories that last lifetimes. I felt that passion back when the movie came out and have always had love for Rose/ Winslet.
Got the chance to watch it in cinemas..it was such a dream come true.. loved it

she's nowhere close to fat. that said the camera angles in this scene were weird and unflattering. made her look 40 and made him look 14, when in reality i think they were both like 25. literally in every other shot of the movie it's not like that!
