    Hello Shane,
    As Usual Great video (already saved it for the future ;) ) .
    I don't know if the others would be interested, but me for sure: when u create an app the first step is to decide Tablet or phone layout, but in the size settings you can turn of the fixed size (as per the crisis communication template app of Microsoft). I've created alreade a "Dynamic" sized and object positioned app, and it was quite painful, to make every object x,y,w,h in with formulas. I think it would be a great subject for a video from you :) no pressure (pleeeeeeeeease show how you would takle this :D )
    Cheers !

    Hey Shane, at first thank you for all your videos ... I learned all about creating PowerApps with your tutorials. BEST MAN :) But now I have a Problem with the SVG's ... I will use the SVGs as Icons, so on my PC everything works fine. On AppStart I create a collection with all SVGs, I give them a name and load them into a gallery on the Menu I need... As I said on the PC everything is fine but ob the mobile device the SVGs are not shown. Also I have the problem hat the Gallery height will be reduced to minimum (i think because of the missing SVG Picture) Do you have an idea what should I do now ?!

    Awesome as usual Shane! My app looks nice, but it could definitely stand a spruce up! On a side note, I know you don't generally cover Power Automate very much, but I just discovered today there is such a thing as a 'trigger condition' for a Flow, hidden within the settings of the Trigger, and you can specify that the flow only run if a particular column is set to a specific value. I have jumped all sorts of hoops, using lookup conditions within PowerApps, combined with a reference list separate from my main list attached to galleries in my app, to stop the dreaded 'When an item is created or modified' trigger from running every damn time anyone makes any edit to a list item in Power Apps, only to discover trigger conditions are a thing. Would you consider doing a PSA video for the community on this?

    • @ShanesCows
      @ShanesCows  Před 3 lety +1

      That is brand new. I will see if I can't add that to my list to cover. 😎

    • @threewiseman1
      @threewiseman1 Před 3 lety

      @@ShanesCows Awesome! It has saved me a bucket load of wasted flow runs, and simplified the logic for for my flows (and by extension, my app). And right now, at least, if you Google 'How to stop my flow from running by adding a condition' most reference material, blog posts and forum posts still say 'You have to add a condition as an Action *after* the flow has started running' which doesn't solve the problem.
      You have to Google 'Flow Trigger Conditions' for it to appear as a top result, which of course means you have to know what it's called in the first place.

    • @threewiseman1
      @threewiseman1 Před 3 lety

      @@ShanesCows Oh - bonus tip to avoid a problem I created in my logic (and very obvious in hindsight). My trigger condition looks for a 'true' value in a Yes/No Column in Sharepoint. In most scenarios, you likely need to append an 'Update Item' Action to the end of your Flow that sets the value of that yes/no column back to 'false', after it's done everything you need it to. Sharepoint will warn you that you may be creating an infinite loop, but you can ignore the warning. If you've set it up correctly, it won't be a problem.

    • @Hoserzzz
      @Hoserzzz Před rokem

      @@threewiseman1 you can also just add a conditional statement right after the trigger, If column = yes, [do nothing in that branch], else run the rest of the flow

    • @threewiseman1
      @threewiseman1 Před rokem

      @@Hoserzzz Yes, I mention that in my 2nd comment, but that means you could be running a flow that does absolutely nothing every time an item is modified or created in a list. You don't want that. That will eat up your flow run allocation attached to your licence in no time. Trigger conditions are absolutely the way to go in this scenario.

    Hello Shane. I have a questions related to PowerApp Generated emails. I have created an HTML message that is sent when the customer clicks the submit button. In the HTML message I would like information from the problem ticket they submitted that is from dropdown table fields. For instance. The priority they assigned it High, Medium, or Low. The Device hat has the problem A, B, C, etc. I know this is probably the easiest operation to do but I cant find anything on it. Can you point me to which of your videos explains how to pull out the selected vaule from a dropdown table and display it please? Many thanks in advance.

    I am a subscriber, so I was able to download the app and import it into my environment. When I change the percentage of Chewy exercises, the animation (green circle) flickers which is not the case in the video.

      Hmm... Not sure. When I use this for customers they usually aren't manually changing it, so we don't get the flick of OnChange. If you want them to change it themselves you might have to think about a variable for telling it not to process until all of the data has been updated.
