Stripes have to stay on the FJ 100%! This will be way cooler than another JK.
Those are TRD stripes they need to stay on.
True words, thanks.👌🇿🇦🇿🇦
They got to stay
That era is those stripes. And bell bottom fender flares!
And you're missing an opportunity if the stripes aren't Blue, Grey and Black.
Of all the recent times that someone has done gears, Colt is the first one that has actually shown us the gears and the pattern while explaining what it's all about - thank you!! Colt is an excellent instructor!
Fab rats has done it multiple times
Stacey David - GearZ
Colt makes a great special guest. He's always happy, and fits in well. _And_ he has some skills.
CZcams advertising radicalized me
Lab made
Elite released
Do you comply?
Shhh, don't say gay
Was Colt a teacher/professor at some point. I know nothin’ about gears but his instruction was clear as a bleepin’ 🔔.
Yes Colt is off the wall funny, I follow him and Matt on Bleepn Jeep
@@johnrazor8720 yes👌🇿🇦🇿🇦
Yes the stripes need to stay! Awesome of Colt to come and help with the gears! Keep up the great work guys!!!!
I dont think he will come help again, Hillbilly needs to shut up and learn from The GEAR guy they asked to come help.
Yes! Put the FJ body on the JK frame!!! I’m a big Jeep fan, but the vintage Toyota stuff is great. Slam them together for a unique and awesome rig.
Definitely bring the stripes back!
Stripes all the way! Early Toyota was the king of the stripes.
Colt had that - “Boy you need to listen cause you are getting on my nerves look”explaining which side is the ring side - this is one of the better walk-thru video of redoing gears and how all the pieces word in general.
Colt deserves special recognition for working with Hillbilly for two days.
Amen!!
Sparkyofsocal yes, sometimes Hillbilly can be a little over bearing at times when someone is trying to teach him something. But he's still young.
He looked like his patience was a little tested at times.
Hillbilly wasn't arguing -- he's just engaging in a philosophical discussion about the terminology. He accepted that's what it is called, he's just talking about the logic of the term. Hillbilly is smarter than people realize. That's how he learns is by asking and exploring the topic with someone that knows the topic.
@@davepelfrey3958so true, When I was teaching my nephew I would explain it to him and his response was always why not do it this way!? My response was, I've been doing this for a long time and what I'm telling you is the best, fastest and easiest way to get it done. I would let him do it his way and he always came back and said you are right! He grew up and started his own company and if he ran into a problem I would get a call to solve it. Now he gives me credit for teaching him how to fish. If you know what I mean!
Everybody loved Colt being in the shop working on something as heavily indicated in the comments. Colt working with the Hillbilly on the Broncstar and also smartly, cooly, wisely pushing for the Landcruiser body to go on top of the XJ frame to make a really neat, unique, nostalgic-looking rock crawler was great. We can't wait to see that entire project, in detail, and all of the cool, subtle and not so subtle modifications you do to the body and interior to make it look good, ride good, be comfortable and very safe to play in.
Colt does an excellent job of explaining what and why in regards to the axle rebuild
Yep, that was a good vid and he is a good actor/teacher.
Colt’s appearance made the video awesome! Love his distinctive laugh. 😂
Hillbilly seemed to be wee bit argumentative with someone who really has the experience and knowledgable. Kudos for him working with him for 2 days. Colt's walk-thru shot was perfect.
No, that is only foothage for Robbie, but Colt handled everything like a gentleman, that he is. Man he knows he's stuff. Cheers Cape town 🇿🇦👌
@@rudiekeyser2495 I don't understand...footage for Robbie? I saw that Hillbilly was being really negative. Had nothing to do with Robbie. Colt had to deal with him.
Yeah like when colt said if u know what ur doing I’ll just go home lol
Hillbilly has some qualities that would make him hard to work with for very long.
He's adamant and stubborn, to deal with those personalities you just has to say what Robby say "ye, ye, your're right" and move on.
Robby and Crew...YES, YES, YES...put the Toyota Landcruiser FJ55 body on your Jeep XJ frame...it would be so unique and cool at the same time. You guys can make that body look SO GOOD because you are body and paint experts (and you're getting pretty good at custom fabrication and restomodding too). It will be awesome, what a project!
In Australia we call the FJ55 Iron Pigs. They are always full of rust. It's gonna look way cooler than a JK body, especially with those old school stripes. Can't wait to see final product.
That is the thing that is amazing, it's relatively rust free. Hang on I wonder how much bog is on it?
Cruiser guys know them as Iron Pigs here, too. Waaay cooler on his build than a jeep body.
I think Robbie will put end to that rust. The 55 is a classic and it's going to be awesome. Cheers Cape town 🇿🇦👌
Mine was 10 years old when I brought it. It looked beautiful, but I found out 4 years later why, when the bog that was holding the roof together started letting go. Finally sold it (1990) for scrap value (roof was ready to turn into convertible, just being held in place by the windscreen and a few places along the side) to someone who was going to "fix" it and to "sell" it in Derby (NW Australia). Motor was shot no compression on 5 & 6. 😁
I love how much fun Grandpa was having hanging out with you guys.
I’ve watched a dozen DIY re-gear videos and this is the first one that all of the explanations make total sense to me. I had basically resigned to the fact I’d need to pay someone to do my gears but now I’m feeling confident I could do it with a couple special tools.
After watching this video with Colt I will have to be subscribed to his channel now! Great....my wife thinks I waste enough time online but at my age it is one of the simple pleasures of life! Colt you are great at explaining the what and why of what you are doing and making it understandable! Thanks. Looking forward to your content now too!
Can’t believe how rude Hillbilly is to Colt in this video. It may have been all in fun, but I’m not so sure. If it had been me, I would have told Hillbilly to do it himself and left.
Exactly, and Colt was even taking time to teach Hillbilly and all he wanted to do was be obnoxious. Reminds me of a ten year old kid that does anything to get attention.
Colt has great patience and an important sense of humor. South Dakota folks are generally smart and laid back, and they know how to work on gears!
100% the stripes need to stay… won’t be cool without them.
And yeah, Colt is rad!
Colt was very patient with Hillbilly. Looking forward to the JKruiser build!
Gotta keep the side racing stripes!!! Keep that 70's vibe going.
If people start sending their regrets when asked for help, refer back to this video. Colt exemplifies a graceful guest that’s lending a hand. Not sure I’d be as patient.
I have a ton of patience, but it gets stretched to a limit with some people. If you are telling/showing me something I have limited experience with or I know nothing about, I am going to keep my mouth shut and listen to your experience and knowledge and hopefully learn from it. I about shut down the video due to getting irritated listening to this hillbilly.
What an awesome video! Bleepin Colt is so funny and so smart! Hillbilly is such a hard worker and fun! And as always, Robby is so much fun to watch! Thanks to Grandpa, can't wait to see the transformation! I say yes to the stripes! Great job of filming to Dinner and Demri! I laughed outloud on the outro!
The fj55 is affectionately known as the iron pig
Well stated . Sounds accurate. They all great guys & 1 snow bunny filming.
BleepinColt is the man! Bringing that FJ back to life is awesome.
Colt from Bleepin' Jeep is a cool guy...I'd drink a beer with him, go rock crawlin' and trail ridin' with him and break pizza or steak with him (not necessarily in that order, no drinking and driving)! That was a good confabulation, collaboration and cool chassis construction video.
Shocking!!!
Would never have imagined the old FJ turning into a crawler. Great challenge.
Paul may be interested to see how it goes as well.
Best of luck. You deserve a stand out “family” crawler.
Hey Hillbilly, when someone comes too you, to help you with your project, what you should do is say, “Thank you very much. I really appreciate it.”
Colt is brilliant. Great at gears and spotted the best body for that frame.
Hillbilly should learn not to argue with people who know more than he does
He will never learn, it is just part of his personality. Perhaps as he ages he will settle down.
Keep the vintage color and stripes! Keep as much of the body as you can. This will be a great video series!
Colt is always a welcome sight, I'm sure he gets upset but he never shows it. Always a great guy.
I was kinda underwhelmed with the jeep build but now the 78 Toyota body...wow. It's gonna take some work but it should be awesome.
24:00 Colt is showing he plays softball and hits dingers! My man was swinging for the fences!!
Great job. Colt patiently tries to teach Hillbilly how to install a rear end.
*_I thought for sure that Colt was gonna bolt when Hillbilly asked him if he knew what he was doing, Colt replied "if that case I'll just leave" Cudos to Colt for keeping cool and staying on the project with a great attitude!!_*
they call him hillbilly for a reason.
Can't believe Colt put up with hillbilly.
Great episode!! Colt was an awesome guest, and it was nice to meet HillBillies' grandpa, HillWilliam....
Grandpa and Bleepin' Jeep are two cool guys to be around with. So excited to see the videos of that Land Cruiser/Crawler build from start to finish!
I would say the stripes and vintage look would be awesome!
How nice of him to help. Finally someone took the time to show the contact pattern.
Colt seems like a great guy. The LC rock crawler is going to be epic when completed. Finally, keep the stripes, but maybe go with some different shades of Robby Layton blue in the stripes so the boss doesn’t get too unhappy!
Great tutorial from Colt
And yes, you need the stripes. Really cool to see Hillbilly's grandpa.
Looking forward to the FJ build. Colt is the man. He has a lot of patience.
YES to stripes... very TRD-Pro.
And Hillbilly, mind ya mannahs. Colt did a great job, explained it all clearly, and deserves the respect. 😉
Colt knows what's up. You should totally do the stripes!
I enjoy how Colt and everyone else breaks things down for people like myself. Good stuff each week! Keep the stripes
Colt show us exactly how things should be done and be a gentleman at the same time. Cheers Cape town 🇿🇦👌
This was a fantastic episode! Every part of it was great, but my favorite was the decision to put the FJ body onto the JK frame. I’m convinced Demri will love it when you’re finished with it.
Colt made this episode entertaining.
I ve decided I like Hillbilly, I watch more than a dozen off roader channels, and Hillbilly is the only one who blasts and paints his stuff, everyone else just installs rusty mud covered parts under their 50k Riggs, and it drives my crazy, thank you Hillbilly.
Definitely needs those retro stripes. Without fail. Keep up the great work 👌
Get another lift, then you won't have to move them back and forth. Good to see Colt helping out! Keep the strips.
Complex - its the word for today! Robby never does a simple job. Thanks for showing us how to do complex projects - one step at a time. . . or TWICE!
Yes it needs stripes. Great to see Colt there he’s very skilled. Good job I can’t wait to see the rest of the build. 😊
G'day from Australia Robby.
I'm not even interested in spray painting, 4x4's, panel beating or Chryslers.
I just find Yourself, Hillbilly, Big Dinner and the greatest camera woman so entertaining.
Thanks for the great content, I'm so happy I came across your channel.
Cheers from an old Bloke in Australia.
Putting that toyota body on the jeep crawler frame is probably the best idea you've ever had and BTW you absolutely need to repaint it the way it looks now. Those 70s stripes automatically add 50hp🤷♂️
Truffle Shuffle!
This is a fun project . Whatever happened to the Bulls in the snow rescue or they waiting for spring?
This build of the JK is going to be so awesome! Keep the stripes for sure
2:03 - I think this is exactly the type of welding setup that resulted in Paul from FabRats having to completely re-build his Ori's..
That shock is surely the shortest path, I'm sure the seals love it.
LOL, oh man. hindsight 20-20. electricity takes all paths of continuity, and yes, most likely most of the current went thru the ORI. Paul? what do you say
yeah. you get on to building and forget things
I knew there was something wrong with that picture, but for different reasons. I thought to myself: "I would've taken the ORIs off before welding around them..." just thinking about the sparks flying causing cosmetic damage to them, (I know they aren't cheap, so I would protect them to the max), but now that you all mentioned the electricity going through them, that would be the main concern.
I like hearing and watching hillbilly work. Does a great job of explaining himself.
That was a great episode,, with Colt 🎉🎉 it’s good to have friends that lead you astray 😅😅 ,
Colt is a cool Guy like all of you and yes please bring those lines back❤
Awesome to see colt and his opinion is correct robby it will be epic stripes definitely what's with the wrecker 😉
I enjoyed seeing Colt on here! I LOVE the idea of putting that FJ-55 on the JK frame!!! I’m for puttin the stripes back on but I know you could do them in a sexier way!
FJ55 with stripes and 'surfwagon' look on an epic crawler chassis. I'd put a fake surfboard on the roof just to drive Paul from Fab Rats nuts...
This Toyota build is going to be epic!! I can’t wait to see you guys wheeling your rigs and having fun on the trail!
Oh and you got to keep the stripes!
An axle case spreader would be a great investment!! Love the show guys!
The stripes have to stay! It screams 1970s. It's the coolest thing about it.
This is going to be an amazing adventure that you all are doing. I can hardly wait to watch you guys put that toyota on a j k
I can't wait, it's going to be awesome. Cheers Cape town 🇿🇦👌
Very nice few days in the shop working on the Broncstar and the JK build and seeing Colt there helping. Those SD boys are pretty awesome.
Oh man, I'm love seeing Colt put Hillbilly in his place. Hillbilly actually believes he can't be wrong, he needs to go to therapy to learn how to admit that he might be wrong and made a mistake. Seeing Hillbilly try and convince Colt the names of the parts aren't what they actually are is just hilarious.
Wow
Are you a brain witch?
Why go see a mind shaman?
The only people that are qualified to talk about brains are anesthesiologist. Only they can turn off the brain and turn it back on at will.
Do you even understand humor? Grow up.
You can tell that Hillbilly doesn’t mean it in a humorous way. He is being serious for the most part and then plays it off as a joke when he realizes someone is going to stand up to him. It’s cringeworthy.
Hey Robbie, please do yourself and everyone that works on your JK a favor. Put antiseize on all your adjustable suspension and steering components. I am an alignment technician for a company in salt lake city called Alignment Specialists. I see jeeps all the time where the trailing arms, toe bars, drag links, etc... are just seized and rusted solid.
I'm excited to see the current projects that you're working on done! Especially Hillbilly's Broncstar! Hit me up if you need a specialized, computer alignment when you get them done. 😉
All you guys are amazing!!!
Rebuilding the Broncstar is entertainment I know. Hillbilly has the perfect job....he puts in many hrs of o.t., and gets to do what he loves best. Working on his baby, in a well equipped shop. Robby is a really great person and boss. I enjoy watching the family, the crew working together, and the banter talk. I'll be back this spring to visit again. Met Cody, Dinner and Hillbilly last spring, pics w/Nugget and Ed. Need poster like Ed's so I can get an Expert pic of Ernis and entire crew. First test drive of the Broncstar by BRONCOBILLY! Hello from Oregon.
Keep the stripes for the "sleeper Toyota". Totally unassuming! You are an artist Robby, you'll make it look pretty!
Thought for the day: when you have an expert come in to help, don't argue with them over stupid sh!t. The bleepin jeep guy seems to know his stuff, fall back to a supporting role, and support.
Yes, whether Hillybilly thought he was just being funny or not it was completely obnoxious and annoying to hear him pester Colt.
That Land Cruiser body will be awesome on the JK frame. I would vote for the vintage color and stripes to remain though.
You have to preserve the look...strips and color.
Yes, Stripes back, yet, changed to Blue & Silver. Ty for taking us along
THIS WAS A FANTASTIC VIDEO !!! Thanks Robbie for a show long enough to enjoy yet not to long so you can't sit and watch it. Some of us... especially since I am retired... can sit and enjoy these all day long lol. But just a lot of fun as always watching. If you're a car nut this is what makes good entertainment.
Great choice on the Land Cruiser over the JK. As to the stripes... just use a different shade of blue along with the silver. That will work with the Blue base ... figuring your going with your trademark Blue silver combination paint scheme. This ups the game... going to turn up the pace to get it all done. Including the Broncstar. Reminds us of the Golden Nugget build...
Thanks, true words 👌🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
Poor Hillbilly, he’s cool, nice to see more of him in the video.
That would be such a cool swap instead of just a normal jeep! I am happy for you to get it done and see how it comes out but to have that body swapped on I’d be hyped to see it done!
Totally go with the FJ - w/Stripes of course!
Colt has such a great attitude! Great laugh too!
I am 55 years old and that's the second Toyota that I've ever seen I seen one years ago on 44s I wish I had a picture to show you it was wild looking
Hillbilly needs to settle himself. He argues too much, especially when he is wrong. But Gramps was a great guest as was Colt!
Colt has made a great call, use the Toyota ! Gets my vote !
Coming along nicely guys. Can't wait to see more videos soon. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friends. Fab on. Weld on. Keep making. God bless.
Colt needs to head over to Owen's place and help him out 🤣 I wish I had a teacher like colt. I'm so excited to see another classic fj on the road!
Colts a better man than I, hillbilly and i would have had a man to man talk about entitlement and gratitude.
Hillbilly, well done, you're an excellent mechanic and able to teach it too. But, so many words. I assure you, the target audience of this channel knows how lock washers work.
Getting to do so much serious work to your Bronco has got to be a blast. 😎
Hopefully Hillbilly will keep getting better at interacting with people. Hs combative humor could rub some people the wrong way. But Cole handled it very well per the video.
Yeah, feels like watching a small child doing anything they can to get attention.
Everything about the idea of putting the Toyota Body on is YES! It will look Amazing.
Hillbilly needs to listen even if he thinks he knows. People that argue like that can wear a man out
Oh yeah put the stripes back on! And awesome seeing Colt getting it done with Hillbilly.
I glad someone one finally proved Hillbilly wrong, He thinks he knows everything
Yep, gets old.
Glad to see the bronstar getting some much needed attention can't wait to see the fj55 come to life gonna make a sweet build! Definitely gonna have people turning heads maybe you and Paul at fab rats can have a fj flex off after everything is done! Can't wait for the content to come!
Definitely have to keep the stripes! As much patina on the outside as possible would be cool.
1) DEFO use the Land Cruiser 2) DEFO bring back the two lines. They are super classic. 3) GREAT episode, an absolute wrenchfest!
For a veryyy long time I've wanted to comment about, well practically what everyone is pointing out today. Great work ethic, but there's no need to try sounding smarter than you are(causing jumbling of words) or trying so hard to be funny at every turn when you're not. Just be yourself.
What a GREAT video!!! As a Mopar guy, I say SEND IT with the Land Cruiser body!!! Looking forward to seeing the end product!!
Please keep the stripe!! 😁
Send the stripes! Make it look like the classic Toyota Landcruiser from back then. Please do that build! I have been dying waiting for you guys to do some kind of a Toyota build. Restoring Tuckers 4Runner was awesome, this restoration would be impressive to watch for sure.
Hey, good to see ya here Colt 🙂
Bleepin' Colt is a good dude.
