Nebercracker literally broke out of the hospital and stole an ambulance just so he could get back to blow up the house.
That's why he gets out on the driver's side.

This reaction is possibly the FUNNIEST reaction I've seen from you guys. On top of loving this movie (one of my childhood favorites), I never realized how many adult jokes were in this. And how Chowder basically steals the whole show. More people need to watch this.
I loved their reaction to The Mask but their editor left out the "Cuban Pete" scene which was a bummer.
I remember my mom took my brother and I to see this, and we loved it. I would watch this all the time when Cartoon Network played it during Spooky Season.

Fun fact a lot of people don't know about with this film. All of the actors playing the adult characters were envisioned by the director to play said roles so he didn't bother casting auditions initially. The odds are so rare for that to ever happen, yet he got his wish and all these actors agreed to start in the movie as the characters he envisioned them to play.
Another great video and I agree Steve Buscemi is not only a real gentleman but an actual real life hero. Did you know that not only is he a former firefighter but after 9/11, he actually went to go to try help the survivors and cleanup in the area around Ground Zero and he still tries to raise awareness of those still dying from the side effects caused by the collapse, etc? He has definitely earned my respect, too so I agree - having a meal and chatting with him would be an honour and very cool.
not to mention from his interviews, comes off so based and down to earth, Steve is one of the great ones

Theres some huge foreshadowing when Nebercracker returns from the hospital, with the box of dynamite on the lawn. Even before it got to the point where the house pulled itself out by the roots, Nebercracker was already at the breaking point. Whether she snapped or not, he'd made up his mind this was going to be the last year, once and for all.
Exactly. And even worse, if DJ and Chowder hadn't become his friends, Nebercracker might have blown himself up inside of her and just ended it all. Because in spite of it all, she was still all he had. In his mind, how could he go on without her?
Fun fact this movie was actually mocaped so these are both voice and physical performances from the actors, there is a behind the scenes that is really cool
this movie is criminally underated, it's such a fun and creepy movie with laughs, dark themes, heart and some pretty good jump scares

This movie is so goated and I will not hear otherwise, the characters are good and funny, the story is enjoyable yet scary enough and the animation is pretty decent

Monster House is one of those movies that’s not winning any awards but is still a very fun film to watch at least once. The titular Monster House has an incredible design. There’s actually a video game adaptation where you go through the entire house. You should look up a long play if you’re interested in seeing more.

Rip Fred Willard 1933-2020 he played the dad in the movie, the actor who played Nebbercracker his name is Steve Buscemi he was a firefighter in New York City from 1980 to 1984 with Engine Company number 55, the day after the September 11 Attack in New York, he returned to his old firehouse to volunteer, he worked 12 hour shifts for a week, and dug through rubble looking for missing firefighters, on May 25 2003 Buscemi was arrested with 19 other people while protesting the closing of a number of firehouses, including Engine 55
Fred was one of the original kings of comedy. Miss him every day.

So interesting tidbit: the house's victims turning up alive at the end was added later. Initially, none of them were going to come back, but the directors were told that the MPAA would have to up the rating to PG-13. They wanted to keep the PG rating, so they added the new scenes.
Those two dogs are too cute! I think this movie does not get enough credit. I loved it!

Whoever animated every single wooden board on the house when it turns into a monster is really impressive and how they keep their exact length and not stretch or squish the boards, that makes the house look physical....

I'm the oldest of 4 boys and my youngest brother (I was born '95 and him '04) loved this movie so much that every weekend that he came over he would watch this movie on repeat. It was annoying but looking back on it this movie now holds a special place in my heart
This movie is amazing this is definitely a yearly Halloween watch. Animated Halloween movies are some of the best like Nightmare before Christmas (October thru December lol) , the corpse bride and Frankenweenie, Coraline, Wallace and gromit, It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, Perfect Blue, Kiki's Delivery Service, sausage party is a new tradition for me lol hell ill even watch james and the giant peach During this time 😅
This was always great to me, animation models included and if you guys want more of the House explored and more scary & dark, I suggest playing the console version of the tie-in game because man was that very scary to me as a kid, never finished it though.

This movie was made in 2006, I just wanted to tell you I read a novel by Stephen King (& Peter Straub) back in 2009 called Black House. The novel was published 2001. The point is the novel has a character called The Fisherman, and in my mind he looked exactly as Nebbercracker, so for me watching Monster House reminds me to read the novel again, which was my very first novel (because I wanted, not because the school made me to).

Steve Buscemi is a hero. He used to be a Volunteer Firefighter in New York in the early 80s and was one of the volunteer firefighters that assisted after the 9/11 attack.
I've heard this story before, Steve is literally the goat; absolutely love him in anything he does!

Great choice, I often do a Double Feature of Monster House and ParaNorman.
I took my 11 year old nephew and my 8 year old niece to see this opening day. About halfway through, my niece grabbed my arm and said, “Why did I come to this movie!?” 😆 my nephew loved it. It was very entertaining and now, niece is 25 and nephew is 28; we try to watch it every October. We just watched it on the 17th with their kids and yes, it scared them just like it did their parents lol. Love this movie, love these reactions. 😁❤️
