Dam been on a run of childhood and it's crazy how the way u do it is making it so much better, respects
D.O.C used to have a normal voice, but his voicebox got destroyed in horrific accident that left his teeth embedded into the tree that he was flung into, that's why he sounds like he does. If you hear him talk, its actually impressive this sounded as good as it does. Em, Dre, and D.O.C like family, made this collab extra special. EM always seems to find even one more gear higher for Dre as well
He had one of the dopest voices and his pen was crazy...f'ed this happened to him

Yo, so that’s DOC on the hook, his vocal cords were damaged back in the day, it’s not Dre.
The alias/athiest bar is my absolute favorite line from him man. When i first heard it i had to pull over. I had a gospel moment. Now sometimes when I doubt myself, i hear this bar in my head followed by the high pitched "wooah" in the background after and it snaps me back in. This song is pure fucking gold. Suprised you didnt get the "lookin for my next gold digger " bar because of dres divorce settlement. Also ive noticed - Ive not seen even ONE person acknowledge the part where he says " I cereal kill and your kellogs" is refering to Young Kelly. Young "Kells". You even hear "bitch" in the background after it sounds like Kelly.

The gritty sounding rapper in this is the one and only, D.O.C., followed by Dre right after. The D.O.C. put out one of the BEST albums, his solo album, "No One Can Do It Better." He was an amazing rapper and is still a great writer and producer. Until he got lit and drove his car into a cement obstacle on the 101 freeway, if I recall. If not the 101, one of the others. He fucked up his vocal box and was told he could never rap again, or even sing. He has been hard at work and this "new" husky whisper voice is pretty dope.

Xzibit was part of the Up in Smoke Tour in 2001 or 2002. Younger generation should watch videos of that tour. He was also in 8 mile, the scene when they battled during lunch break. if that helps too?? He may have said something similar in Rap God, but he makes sure not to repeat the same words in rhymes. Lookup a Lil wayne show(maybe podcast) when they both spoke about checking their own lyrics from the past to make sure they don't reuse same ones.

I've seen a few reactions like when it dropped..people were were caught up in the words and theme that they missed the cadence and how long the "ih" "it", "ish", long o like goat throat all went on for. Up down up down, smooth, then fast with emphasis, then effortlessly back into it...he's so sick with those cadences and punches on point, it's almost like hearing Ariana Grande do Arpeggios and scales in vocal warm up...just rap syllables instead of notes/vocal tones. Wow. Just wow. It's almost hard to describe. We barely into Em's verse and I already got a damn headache up. Lol
