When my current neighborhood was first built (1960's), each lawn had flowering crabapple trees lining the street. Every spring I wait to see the perfect moment, committing it to memory for an art piece some day: A gray overcast sky, lit up by the gentle pink and white blossoms glowing from the crabapple trees. The subtle pink Prima named 'crabapple' seems to capture that color.

Both of these palettes together would work brilliantly for seascapes. Thanks for showing them!

Even though I do use professional artist paints, I still love my Prima Marketing palettes. The colors are vibrant although the older palettes seem a little chalky. These two are gorgeous!

Green & black are my fav colors too! And I hate the new swatch cards too!

Thank you showing these watercolors... it is very helpful for me ... so much competition for my crafting dollars.. haha. :)

The second reviewer who doesn't love the greens in Terrain. LOL, I LOVE them, understanding that I can use the blue, purple or red to lower the value. I want "natural" earthy greens, as I will be trying painting outdoors this summer, and it will be easier to build up than water down. I am super excited for Terrain, and may buy Currents, after Oddessy...geat darks in that one. Thanks for the swatches.

I use my crabapple to make pectin for all my other preserves.

The colors of the Currents palette are the same as the older Odyssey palette from Prima (even the names are the same). I'm not sure if they've been reformulated.

I don't know for sure if they have been reformulated, but they feel like they have. I really enjoy these watercolors and it's fun to collect all the palettes. 😊

I just got both of these. The numbers are actually printed on the side of each pan if you get confused. I just realized that. Lol

Thank you for your video. The only thing I'm sad about is that you can't buy the colour individual. I bought the currents and pastel dreams set. So when I run out of 1 colour I hope to find a similar shade from a different brand.

Crab apples need to be pickled. :) Raw they are useless. Thank you for sharing the new pallets.

That was our mistake. We were trying to eat them like a regular apple. Thanks for the info. :)

My Art Supply Obsession, I have never heard of crab apples being pickled. They are not an eating apple and cannot be used in cooking apple pie and other apple based dishes, but it IS the most amazing fruit for jelly, a kind of very clear golden jelly that you can spread on bread and butter and it is way nicer than jam, or you can put it in baked deserts. Google crab apple jelly for recipes if you ever have a tree again. It is also a good source of pectin so can be added to jam made with other fruit to help it set. Making crab apple jelly is not for the fainthearted you have to strain the boiled fruit, but as you would do quite a lot of it in one batch there would be plenty to give away to friends who like it, and they almost certainly will unless they are totally ideological about sugar.

I love the bottom colors; those greens are not my favorite...too many of the same shades
