Tried this on a pasture site and took ten paces, got a signal, swapped to my usual Hot program to compare and it did not pick it up, swapped back and got the repeatable signal, nothing fantastic but it was there. Dug down and at about 7-8" first signal first dig a lovely Edward I 3d Bristol mint hammy. Thanks mate !
Hi Neil You have absolutely right. Went out yesterday and I was on hot, my brother was on hammy programme. My hot programme didn't picked it up and the hammy programme pick up a strog 89 signal. It was a hammered coin.

There's a spot on my mate's permission that has brought us a full hammered and some half hammereds as we were leaving the field a few weeks ago, so it's time to go back, focus and dig the rest of those babies out! Hi bud, not sure if you still answer thes old vids but I just had a henryv111 groat with these settings. My ground is about 75 should go manual GB at about 80 or tracking? Also I use the hf coil so what frequency should I use for that please? Cheers bud. HAMMMERRREDD!!!
If the machines still stable leave the gb at 88, try the 28 khz… if unstable lower gb but bever go lower than the value…. Your know if gone to low as the coil will false when ever you bang it

My mate is running on 5.2 I am on 4.1 The 2 machines behave differently with this program . I have looked back through you old vid's and it gives the same settings for both platforms. The program appears to perform better on 4.1 Your thoughts please?

Nice settings but you should never slow down your swing speed with faster reactivity. This can lose a signal. The mistake people make is that they think fast reactivity means they can make massive fast sweeps, which is wrong. But you don't go slow either. Faster reactivity needs a decent swing speed, its set up for that. I have watched people in reactivity 3 slow the coil down and they can't understand why the target has disappeared. I have grabbed the stem of their detector and moved it at a decent mid pace and they have been amazed to see the target come back. If you swing too slowly in faster reactivity you don't let the program do what it is designed to do and you can miss targets. Try it on a test board mate. Experiment with swing speeds with targets near iron. You will see that faster reactivity gives cleaner clearer signals with a nice confident swing.
I hear ya mate but that isnt the case when searching over a bed of roman nails.... Barley moving the coil waiting for a little beep amongst the grunts... But yeah when in normal conditions i imagine your bang on ;-)
What about setting your disc to 0, and notching out 0-29 , as you know the lower the disc the deeper it will seek . This way your getting maximum depth but with the notch your not going to hear the rubbish even though the machine is detecting it . Maybe I’m wrong in this thinking ? What you reckon matey ?
Yes the hammy programme is a more stable search with less chatter than the pro.... if you want a more open setup use my pro settings.. and adjust the minus discrimination to suit ground... I generally use about -3.0 but will adjust in field to suit
Nice settings Sid.. I've done many tests with the Deus for nearly 3 years, your right, it's a deep detector if set up right. I find a lot of Deus users mess up the settings & one setting is working against the other.. This should help some users... How long have you had the Deus?.. has the CTX taken a back seat? @@boocat5780 if your on a roman site then ignore the numbers... usually there is lots of iron in the ground and that can effect the signals.... dig everything that isn’t a solid iron tone... even the really iffy signals... you will be amazed what your leaving in the ground...
Hot programme (9) if using v4 or above or gmp (2) if on v3.2…. The reason of having first 2 tones set at pitch 202 is you don’t need to have as much or any discrimination on.. on the hammy programme you will now hear a iron tone from the coke range all the way down to 0 disc.. the deus will perform better/faster as less processing needed if blocking 0-30 with disc, so eliminates coke… any signal thats not iron tone is a digger.
Hi sid, I'm looking at getting a new coil. I have the old black 9inch. I was looking at gettin a 11 inch X35. Also is it worth me gettin a new 9 inch HF coil to replace my old black one. And if so I wouldnt no what HF to get what's diffran e between round HF and olypiticle. I just hear so much about the coils.
YNWA96 nit the same but similar but with the x35 you get low khz and also the high khz so dint need to keep changing... in my eyes the x35 have made the other coils obsolete....
Hi ive used the hammy program on my last few outings. The machine seems very chatty beeping for no reason. In the field I have switch to another program and everything is fine really quiet. But I continue to use the hammy program as it seems really deep can anyone help what settings do i need to adjust thanks.

Sid i have used your programm for a while and it gave me a couple of nice hammered coins. But i accidentally deleted the programm by updating my deus from 4.0 to 4.1 ...now i want to set it back again... But wich one should i take ?. I want the normal programm back and not the pro
all depends on the land your on mate..... if on a good ancient site whack it to max khz, reactivity 2.5 or more if need be and the coil will kick ass.... The hf coil is designed mainly for tiny targets and it does this brilliant when on a ancient site, but when used on a area that has modern trash i.e foil, shredded cans etc it becomes a pain as you will be digging the tiniest scrap ever so then id choose the black coil..
I'm already using 2.5 but at 30 kHz ,I found that the 50 kHz can be a little sensitive , have you had the chance to compare the two different hf coils against each other , and depth between the black and hf coil have you noticed a significant. Difference. I have land which is mineralised and trashy with iron mostly , but is ancient site .
i found that if i ran v4 with -6.4 disc it was noisey... bring disc up to about -3 or until it settles to suit the ground your on.... the higher the frequency in theory the deeper your get on the smaller low conductive targets...

What gets me I hear people mention slow swing depending on settings. Will I learn all this stuff eventually mate.
YNWA96 dont try and learn everything at once, put into programme 2 and just enjoy it and get a better understanding, once you have used it for a few months then start to play with settings.... its not a race and the factory settings are very good
Just a quick question. On ground balancing. Should I always be 5 under and never go over what ever the ground ballance is mate. I didn quite understand what harry said in one of his films.

the trick with the deus is to listen to them really iffy faint signals.... if its faint dig it even if jumping around from good signal to iron buzz

Short question: you have made an 202 Discchanal, Why do you put the Disc on 3.2? Just to calm the deus a little bit down?

yeah ctx has been sold and i brought a etrac.... still only use the deus unless going over a good area that has mega deep targets
Got a standard Garret pin pointer and a deus with ws4 headphones no remote but geting interference what’s best option for settings cheers

My prefered coil before x35 was the standard 11 inch but with another 11 inch that has normal khz and the higher it seems a no brainer

Turn your sensitivity down
Keep it as standard. If this doesn't work stick to a program that works best for you

Sid just updated the Deus to V4 going to try your program so pinkies crossed.
