  • On the night of January 12, 2018, Jholie sent the last message of her life to her twin sister, letting her know she would be home soon. Jholie never came home. Savannah explores how police eventually were able to pin the murder on her ex-boyfriend, Nebiyu Ebrahim, with the help of a 13-year-old boy, and how & why Jholie hid the various other times Nebiyu attacked her, before ultimately choking her to death.

I need the closure of a tragic case I hoped those effected get closure, unfortunately there’s far too many unsolved cases. After a couple of years watching true crime, it’s almost worse the cases that are so obviously “solved”, but no one is arrested, jailed or held accountable because of the most infuriating little loopholes.

In my opinion if a child goes missing, and their parents say they didn’t run away they should always take the case seriously immediately. I feel like it always happens in just about every case I hear. You can usually tell when someone is running away and planning to come back..

I agree.. Leticia Stauch called 911 to report Gannon as a runaway and it delayed the case a few days. It ended up where when leo came in to his room days later with liminal (sp) it was a HUGE murder scene/blood bath. Idc if you think that maybe your child ran away you'd always call it in as missing jic.

I personally think that no matter what, if a child goes missing an amber alert should be issued. You could be saving their life, and even if it turned out to be a false alarm and the child was fine, at least you know they're safe and you did everything in your power to make sure that they were

If anyone ever gets the feeling of rage against another go to any hospital and tell them what you feel they'll hold you for at least 72 hours and find medicine and counsel you, feed you, have empathy on you. Don't ever let it get to this point. You'll ruin your life and of course your victims. We need to start treating our mentally ill with empathy and compassion, understanding.. It could be you to lose it one day or your child, spouse, family. The brain is an organ that can get sick just like a liver, heart, kidneys, etc...

The only reason she didn't tell anyone how he really treated her was protection. She was protecting him by not allowing others to know the monster he is. She didn't want others to get mad at him, treat him differently or make him out to be the bad guy.
We all think we can change them and that they're only acting out because they're so passionate about their love for us. We become blinded in a sense, or more like tunnel vision, where we take them at their word. Not only do we want to believe them and believe they'll change, they're so good at manipulation that we trust their words over their actions.

As a man i don't know what it is about that and why women just don't leave. My grandmother stayed in a trauma relationship for 15 plus years with her divorced husband and it makes me so angry for women when they do this. I always tell women defend themselves. If a guy is abusing you, or hitting you or is toxic. Tell someone. Don't hide it. You or someone could be saving your life.

Also, there was a lot more to the story that wasn’t even explained right in the media for it. Honestly Fairfax county police could have done much more. And I’m sad to say they didn’t, as living here for so long I’ve seen this quite too much to be a let down. Even with the schools efforts after. Truly heartbreaking.

One thing to remember about a lot of abusers is they want to be seen as perfect. Many portray themselves as perfect. When this facade starts to fall apart, the abuser will also. I was in a relationship that when it ended, my friends were thankful. Everyone else was shocked. We were the perfect couple. I was not physically abused, but no one should stick around until they are hit. Abuse that escalates does not reverse without lots of counselng, introspection, and work.
Also, parents, especially fathers with girls, need to reinforce that noone should hit them. My father never spanked me because he didn't want me to think any man had a right to hit me, including him.
Also, we need to remember that boys are also abused by girls. Even if the abuse doesn't hurt, it should not be allowed or ignored.

Also, I feel like her race played a role in the lack of action by police and lack of media coverage

      @i6731 Před 4 lety

I don’t think that’s the case... that’s bs of you to pull the race card bc there’s white people that have been counted as a runaway bc there’s no evidence pointing on how or why they were abducted

Amber alert should always be publicised. Who knows maybe her body could have been found earlier? I don't understand how criminals could apologize fully knowing what they're doing. so fkd up.

Thank you so much for adding this young girls case to your channel. Her case clearly does not get the attention that a lot of other cases get. It saddens me to think bad in the world we live in today that young lady can disappear out of her home and in actuality be dead not too farFrom her home and really it was people on the Internet they gave her the exposure to help find what really happens to her I watch this Keys unfold and it was truly heartbreaking her and her twin were beautiful girls that had and still have so much potential for their futures they had very beautiful and head videos of them singing together on CZcams. Thank you again for giving her a little light to shine.

Just found your podcast and youtube channel! I’ve only been listening to a few episodes but I’m already loving it. Only thing is that I’m getting a bit thrown off by the quality of your mic. Even in this video there’s a lot of background noise, so I just wanted to suggest looking into better setups/editing programs etc., if you feel like it. This is just my personal opinion, nothing against your storytelling or anything like that. I love the podcast and am eager to hear more either way :)

I went to the same high school as her and rode the same bus with her and her twin sister. The way the police handled this was horrible. I remember everyday I came to school I’d see her sister so sad and been asked if I’ve seen Jholie. Her and her sister were the sweetest people you can ever meet in the school. They lit up the classrooms and hallways.

when you brought up how he calls her from multiple numbers and that she felt like she was the root of his problems, that she was worried to tell people because she thought she could deal with it herself and how she didn’t want anyone to worry… it brought chills down my spine. i’m currently trying my hardest to get out of a relationship similar to this, and hes the exact same way as her boyfriend was. it’s not funny and i always see people on social media saying they want clingy/toxic S/Os but the truth is, you DONT. it’s not cute, funny, it’s not what love is supposed to be like whatsoever.
