Thank you for sharing, Brad. Like you, I love seeing what other campers pack. I collected quite a lot of gear while stationed and/or visiting five continents. Military gear is quite durable and I still use items from 40 to 50 years old. My two burner Coleman finally took a dump so I bought two single burner units, one for "dirty" cooking and one for clean cooking. Man, I wish I were living back in Arizona especially in some of the rural areas near Sedona. BTW , thank you for your service...26 years is quite impressive. I made it to 23 when I was assigned a desk job supervising 172 personnel it was time to say adios. As an Independent Duty Medical Technician (IDMT) with some air rescue missions under my belt I loved being on mountain tops and in remote areas.

Awesome video, Brad! I think though that you are setting yourself up for a great video on cutting weight in the Jeep. The heavier they get, the more likely to break a drivetrain component, the less fuel efficient, the less power, etc. I'd suggest a couple things. I collaborate with my buddies who are going along so that we limit redundancy. For example, tool bags can be very heavy. If my buddy has a certain kind of wrench, then mine stays home. Same for cooking gear. This kind of inventory taking can save lots of weight in multiple vehicles. I like those soft shackles. There is an example of saving maybe 2 or 3 pounds. Some guys will laugh, but those two or three pounds add up. Both my JK and JL builds have focused on keeping weight down, and I can see the benefit immediately when I travel with guys with much heavier rigs. Keep up the great work on your videos! I always get excited when I see a new one pop up! (Man, I wish I could get the time off that you get to do more trips! Lol!)

Been watching the channel for a few years now. Still one of the best , most helpful Jeep channels. I enjoy this type of video. Please do one periodically. I use these vids not only to help me efficiently pack my jeep jk but also to get good ideas for offroading, camping and backpacking gear. I love my ridgid pro box for storing gear and will likely be getting more as I believe you can stack several pro boxes on top of eachother. Saw them on a past video and they really do work great. Now I need to look up the Kelty chair and KC battery/light. Thanks Brad for another great video. Keep up the good work. We appreciate it.

Just found your channel this week, awesome content and you've got me itching for some more overlanding!
I like that you keep the brake line kit, that was probably the first major break on my 2010 JK. We were doing a big mountain pass and a stick kicked up and managed to bend the brake line at an angle where the sway bar bolt caught it and snapped it right off. By the time I wanted to step on the brakes there was nothing left, but luckily I could switch to 1st gear low range and popped the hand brake to stop.
We had to crawl back down the mountain in 1st gear and drove at about 30km/h to the nearest town to get it fixed. All this happened on a Sunday, 23rd of December, and the only mechanic in town's wife was having a baby so he couldn't help. Luckily one of the other mechanics drove 120km back from his holiday spot the next day just to come help us with a repair. I think I withdrew my entire bank account thinking this was gonna be expensive, but he only charged me about R300, which is about 20 US dollars. As much as that sucked, it's a story we won't forget :)

My groceries for the trail consist of a bag of McDonald's hamburgers (they'll last 2 weeks easy) and some drinks. A change of skivvies for my Sat night shower, and that's pretty much it! lol I do carry a full set of tools, and safety gear though. Gotta make sure I can finish the trail! I'm headed for the mountains myself tomorrow.

On my Hummer H3; which had a completely dead battery on the first try with the Micro Starter nothing. You will notice that there is a "Boost" button; which overrides all the safety issues and it starter my Hummer right up. You may already be aware of the boost button but that made all of th difference in the world. Happy trails

FYI, if you ever wanted to put labels on the clear front of your BROG tool bags it can be done! I created labels for mine in MSWord using a font size that netted me 1/2" tall letters to identify what is in each bag. The letters were filled in with a contrasting color to the clear part of the bags. Cut them out with a slight border, and then secured them down with Crystal Clear Gorilla tape. The tape is extremely strong and flexible and literally disappears on the bag front. Cannot see it or feel it, only the very edges. The tape conforms to whatever the bag does as the tools move around in the bag. Game changer for me!
