Okay try this instead. WD40, Water Displacement. I sprayed my water spot with WD40 and gently wiped with cotton cloth. It worked for me.

I'm amazed... Colgate whitening toothpaste on two old water marks on a pine chest of drawers. Took about 4 goes but I don't think anyone would really notice them now.
