đ Sonic KawariNo is a ROMHack for Sonic The Hedgehog that incorporates many content such as elements from our prototype, concept art, sketches, scrapped ideas, etc.
Previously known as Sonic 1 Delta, the decision was made to make the hack stand out more from other Delta hacks and make it more unique, ending up in an entire and complete restart from scratch. This made the hack transform into a game that wasn't just adding prototype content, but also creating new ideas to make a (hopefully) new and fun experience for everyone.

Sonic 1 Kawarino is a great alternate version of Sonic 1. If it was in any of the Sonic hacking contests, it would've definitely won a lot of things. Seeing it evolve through its development was very cool as well. Hope you enjoyed it!

This is what it was supposed to be like in the Prototype version I'm sure that everything you see here was in the Prototype version and he implemented it back into Sonic 1 if that's true then the Prototype version was better than the final one

I love seeing prototype or beta stuff of video games. There's often a lot of cool stuff in them.
I really liked the music in Marble Zone Act 3. And the idea that each act of a zone has a slightly different theme is also really cool!

This was weird and wonderful, i loved it. I loved how crazy it got, esp with Robotnic's ball just sat there. I loved all the little changes, like the music speeding up and the strange characters they are unique. Also liked the different effects when you end the level. This was a real cook hack, these Sonic hacks just get better and better. Thank you for the awesome upload.
I love all the different changes that were in this game, they look so cool, I would love to see this for the other Sonic games

Also, in one of the builds of Sonic 1 before release, you would not get the Chaos Emeralds in the Special Zone, as you saw. Instead, you would get extra lives from it. The fact the Chaos Emeralds are just littered around the stages of this version of the game, likely was the inspiration for how you would get Chaos Emeralds in most of the Gamegear Sonic games, as Chaos Emeralds you would find hidden in the stages, instead of traveling to the Special Zone to try to get them

Darby, did you notice in Green Hill Zone Act 1 of this romhack, that there was two Motobugs at the start? In one of the builds of Sonic 1 before it was released, there was a Motobug at the very start of the game, near the starting point. But, that Motobug was removed in the final release of the game, to buy new players more time to learn how to play the game for the first time. That is also why Motobugs are so slow, it's to give players time to learn how to control Sonic in this game.
It's nice seeing all the scrapped sprites, like the beta labyrinth background in act 1 and the labyrinth bricks and the old crystals and the beta green hill enemy.

4:48 that is actually the enemy from the tts (tokyo toy show) sonic prototype. It was planned to be in 1990 but the gimmicks and controls is weird. Some worker of sega played it too. And there is some early screenshots of it. Like robotnik shirt is yellow and black. Theres the middle ball hogger. Plus theres a girl which idk.

I like how this particular fangame was inspired by the beata or prototype version of the first sonic the Hedgehog game also I noticed that the percussion of the drums in green hill zone sounds is much more noticeable to hear than in the final non beta

Is a cool rom, seeing some of the stuff left out by Sega is cool, sonic has a double jump too but you need to be going at full speed for it to work and has a cool fast run animation with dust trail.

The context behind why GHZ 3 looks different is because itâs based on an early demo from 1990, which was the first appearance of Sonic 1. Kawarino GHZ 3 takes lots of influence from it.
If the original Sonic 1 had this version of Labyrinth Zone, I donât think people would hate it *nearly* as much.

ghz act 3 is a reference to the look of the TTS (Tokyo Toy Show) thingy that was made wayyyyyy before sonic 1 released. same for the blue egg looking thing. Sega and Sonic Team have searched for it a long time and never found it so its just a lost prototype. Hopefully they will find it and release it to the world.

So have you tried out Frontiers yet? Iâve been really enjoying it, I think itâs the first 3D Sonic Iâve genuinely liked! I mean I had _some_ fun with Unleashed and Forces but I wouldnât exactly have called them âgoodâ unlike I would with Frontiers, you know?
I like it. But Iâm near the end of the game and it feels very same-y and tedious now. I think it was pretty decent and Iâve had fun playing it though.

In the normal Marble is his favorite, always Marble is his favorite. I would like another video of this, I love the prototypes.
