    Imp : You need a minimum of secondary education to be eligible for express entry. Additionally, one year work experience is also required.

    6:51 with NCLC level 5 in French but with a NCLC level 9 in English will you still be eligible for the French Proficiency route ?

    Edit : One year work experience is a requirement for making the Express Entry profile. So for the French pathway, along with NCLC 7, you will need to have 1 year experience because you need to make an express entry profile to become eligible.

    Akshu quick question, why can't we put french as the first language? if we're sure to have a higher french level can we add English as the second language? does the same calculation system apply?

      Hi Ahmed, essentially, the idea is to enter the language in which you have the highest score as your first language. So, if your NCLC level in French is better than in English, go ahead and choose French first. You’ll receive the same points either way. :)

    I guess they do not take into account your outside of Canada work experience for the calculations of points only for the French proficiency stream, hence such low cut off scores overall. Can you clarify this please??

      Hi Akshaya, they absolutely consider your work experience outside of Canada as long as it's a skilled job. You can apply for this pathway even if you've never been to Canada.

      The key tenses to focus on would be Present, Passe Compose, Futur, Imparfait and Conditionnel Tense.

      Hi, you require Canadian Skilled Work Experience, within the last 10 years. You can directly apply for this pathway without having ever worked in Canada.

      Hi, yes. As of now, until 2026, IRCC plans on inviting people for this pathway. In fact, they aim to invite 36,000 people through French pathway in 2026.

      An estimate of 4-6 months according IRCC and various other sources. Again, that depends if you're an inland or outland applicant and other factors.

      Hi Gitesh, correct pronunciation of French alphabets and words are v important for expression orale, as specific marks are allocated for this. They do understand it's hard to talk like a native speaker, so they wouldn't expect that but it's important to avoid sounding like it's an English accent.

      Hi, you need to have a minimum of secondary certificate, but the higher education you have you will get higher CRS points.
      Apart from that, you also need to have 1 year skilled work experience.

      Hey, you need a minimum of secondary education to be eligible for express entry. You'd be eligible with secondary education, but receive only 30 points for Education whereas for a Bachelor's you'll receive 90 points. + like you mentioned, one year of work experience atleast.

      Hi, if your job aligns with any skilled job description in NOC 0,1,2 or 3, your 3 years of work experience will be valid. Please verify your NOC code and with a bachelor's degree (WES equivalency) you will be eligible for the French pathway.

      Hi, you need at least a 7 band in IELTS for your first language. The higher your score, the more CRS points you earn.
      If you have a diploma from a Canadian institution, you usually don’t need an ECA - WES certification, since it’s your highest level of education and will be used to claim points in Express Entry (French pathway).

      Hi Rutik, there's no compulsory work experience required for French pathway. Since the cut offs are pretty low for this stream, you just need to have a NCLC 7 in French and you're good to go. All other things will just give you added CRS points.

      Hi Sanyam, in order to be eligible for the French proficiency draws with low CRS cut offs, you need to get the additional 50 points by scoring NCLC 7. With NCLC 5, you just 4 extra points for second language, but that doesn't make you eligible for the French pathway.

      Hi, CLB 9 is mandatory. Anything lesser will not give you the first language points ! You need CLB 9 in all the 4 bands : reading, writing, speaking and listening.

      Hi Aiden, I totally understand the uncertainty, but IRCC themselves have assured that they intend to bring in more French speakers into the country atleast up until 2026, French pathway is definitely going to be one the major pathways they will invite.

      Hi, I can understand your concern. IRCC has shared their immigration plan where they plan to invite more people through the French invite in 2025 and 2026. You don't have to worry if you start now and will complete the exam by next year end, you will be safe.

      The minimum requirement for an express entry profile for french category is secondary education, the higher education you have, you will receive more CRS points. It depends on your profile :)

      Hey, to become eligible for the Express entry route, you need a certificate, diploma or a bachelors degree. For the French route, you need to make an Express Entry profile and meet with the minimum requirements.

      Hi, you need to score a CLB 9 in IELTS which is equivalent to L - 8, R - 7, W - 7, S - 7 in the exam to attain the first language points.

      Hi Abhinav, you can apply for PR through French language route from anywhere in the world as long as you have the required scores, i.e NCLC 7. Doesn't require you to live in Quebec specifically for this pathway.
