I remember the Darwins when they first released. I never managed to geta a pair back then but I did get the sort of follow up which were the Nike Air Worm lows.
Grabbed the black ones on release day...and while I admittedly don't skate anymore, I can't imagine there's any board feel with these .the outsoles are just bricks. Very durable but crazy thick/rigid

Yhe Darwins were part of Nike's old Ndestrukt line which was really focused on outdoor/blacktop basketball back in the mid to late 90's. There were multiple shoes from the line and yes this backwards swoosh was here on these wayyyyyy before Travis Scott with this lane (which is in part noted by Rodman in his sneaker shopping on complex). Rodman was pretty much the player for this line and the and you can see him wear this line from this Piston to Bulls days until he went over to converse.

It was the Nike SB P Rod Citadel. P Rod 7 sole with the fly wire. Besides the P Rod 7, one of the best SB’s in my opinion.
