Salt is added to the groom's coffee. According to the belief, if the boy drinks that coffee, it means he can tolerate everything for the girl. (In the past, since there were many arranged marriages, the girl threw salt into the coffee of the person she did not want to marry, and this changed over time). 🤗🤔

During this ceremony, the girl gives salty coffee (even black pepper, red pepper etc.) to the groom. If the man drinks the salty coffee, it means he loves the girl. He wants to spend the painful aspects of life with him. Danilo shares his experience in this matter.

Bu seromoni sırasında kız, damada tuzlu kahve (hatta karabiberli ve kırmızı biberli vs.) verir. Eğer erkek tuzlu kahveyi içerse kızı seviyor anlamına gelir. Quando Danilo è andato a ottenere il permesso di matrimonio dalla famiglia di sua moglie secondo la tradizione turca prima di sposarsi. Quando fu servito il caffè, fu sorpreso perché era salato. Armando you got it wrong. Turkey also has a huge salad plate, everyone eats that plate as a family.
We Turks, we share a huge salad bowl, dip the forks into the bowl. As you normally say, everyone takes it on their plate, but instead of doing that, we eat it in the middle. Danilo was surprised by this part and did not have the opportunity to eat.
