The Steelers drafted Wisconsin LB Nick Herbig with their 4th round selection in this year's draft. He is the younger brother of current Steelers guard Nate Herbig. In three seasons at Wisconsin, he tallied 134 tackles, 36 TFL, and 21 sacks. It's possible the Steelers move him to ILB, which is something Herbig talked about during the pre-draft process, but Tomlin said he will start by taking reps at OLB. I said before that Pitt’s first 4 picks are all day 1 starters, Herbig is that perfect interchangeable guy the Steelers need. Now Watt can stop hurting himself taking 300snaps per game.

30 year Badgers fan here, I am just going to give props to the Steelers for knowing who butters there bread in the Badgers defensive players. You guys are stealing all the top tier badgers from my Packers.
Keeanu was the best NT in Badgers history. That dude is a beast and has an incredible first step, quickness and ability to shed blocks.
Nick obviously has the speed and the ability to shed blocks as well and just wreck teams with splash plays. However, he hasn't fine tuned his D moves as TJ Watt did when coming out of college but he can certainly learn from TJ and become the best OLB tandem in the NFL.
I’m a Badger and Packer fan. Let’s just say you got a steal with Herbig. He will be TJ Watt 2.0. What a draft Steeler nation had this year.

Two big monsters to clear lanes for Najee and protect Kenny, a very respectable defensive lineman that a lot of people in Pittsburgh were talking about before the draft, and now a linebacker a lot of people wanted in the 4th.
I can’t see being disappointed in this draft unless Gonzalez becomes the next Rod Woodson and Trenton Simpson becomes a standout all-pro.

Above Average at Best Great Finesse Move and great with using his speed to get around blocker but most of the sacks were mainly blown blocking assignments. Should be in Competition for MLB

We’ve already since glimpse from the players listed to say they are some of our best picks since Watt. We haven’t seen nothing from B.Jones yet.

Herbig is not a day 1 starter - analyzing the film a little closer you’ll see that most of the highlights came from bad Oline play or beating a TE (beating a TE is what you’re supposed to do). He has a ton of potential because he’s fast and shifty, but the talent in the NFL is a lot better. It will take him some time and maybe even a position change, but I can see him contributing in year 1
He has some speed and really good instincts, him learning from tj and highsmith will hopefully develop him into a serious threat, I think he has a high ceiling
