Definitely need to do some more Seether. You two are missing out!
Man, I was so obsessed with Amy Lee as a teen. So talented, so beautiful. Her voice is just haunting.
talent rules.................... always
I'm still obsessed with her 😂
Seether is a very underrated band. I love his voice. They are from South Africa. They have some great fuckin songs. One of my top 5 bands ever
I was lucky enough to see Seether in concert at the Rave in Milwaukee in 2014 I think it was. They were so good!
I feel the same way! Shaun Morgan has an amazing voice! They are one band that are on my bucket list to see live.
I can't believe they aren't bigger! Everything they put out is fire!
@@jamielunsford1 yes it is
Very much so…..
Seether has a ton of great songs, and most of them are pretty deep. Rise Above This comes to mind, Shaun wrote it about his brother Eugene who committed suicide by jumping off the building they were staying at while on tour.
Seether...they aren't many I don't like. There so many I love I'm not sure I could name all in a sitting.
I'd have to roll a playset I have of most of there stuff.
Amy Lee "Call me when you're sober" to Shaun &
Suggest Breakdown by Seether he slung back at her.
Im just greatful it sparked such pain and blow me away music from both.
Rise above this is one of my favorites of any band such a good one!
100% agree! There’s a few bands I like to see live every time they’re on tour.... Seether is one of them.
69 tea
Did not know this fact . Thanks for sharing
if im remembering correctly this song was originally recorded as a solo with just the band seether and was about the singer missing his daughter. . then it was rerecorded as a duet with amy and kinda morphed into a relationship/love song
I can see it making sense in both contexts. Even with Amy I could see a couple that might have lost a kid relating to this song as well. Its all about what emotions hit you for what reasons. Seeing a song in a different light is a big part of why music can be so interesting.
The song was also featured in one of the punisher movie soundtracks
I think I can remember 2 versions of this song one is without Amy Lee
Correct, Shaun wrote the song about missing his young daughter while he was out on the road. Then he started dating Amy Lee and she came in as the duet. Def can give you two meanings if you look at it that way.
In the comment section of another reaction channel someone said that the singer wrote this song for his brother who committed suicide .
Shaun Morgan and Brent Smith from Shinedown are 2 of my favorite vocalists. You should definitely listen to more of their stuff.
FACTS
Brent smith just has that voice that sounds amazing no matter how your hearing it
shinedowns "simple man" is absolutely incredible
Fly From The Inside is a banger
If I'm not mistaken, this was written for Shaun's daughter... Such an all-around beautiful song, and the combination of their voices is just breathtaking
Her voice is beauty and strength. His is pain and anger. A perfect mix.
I love how they mix so well, her voice is extremely powerful and she kinda downplayed a little and matched it up. Its so haunting and beautiful.
Kudos to Asia for opening her heart and mind to another genre of music. Warms my heart and my soul. This coming from a metalhead who loves the sultry sounds of a Bob Seger, Eagles and my beloved SRV. Love the openness. Blessings
Seether is such an underrated South African band 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
The lead singer, Shaun Morgan, is who Amy Lee wrote Call Me When You're Sober about. They were in a relationship during this time, and he had a serious drug problem.
which is why she caught flak for releasing that song the day he checked into rehab
@@angeldown1366 Harsh, but he probably put her through hell, and it would have been nearly impossible for her to coordinate the release of the song with his entering rehab. That kind of thing is up to the record label, and is usually slotted months in advance.
@@IBGECKO song was leaked the same day he entered, her album didn't come out until weeks later... not picking a side but the timing of that song release and the meaning behind it at the time really looked like a "kick you while your down" move which is why she got the heat she did.
@@angeldown1366 that's some bullshit. first of all he deserved everything she said about him. She is the victim of that relationship, not him. He was a sick person who needed help but let's not blame others for his choices. She was all too good by never saying anything bad about him. Plus, as you've been told there's no way, it takes months and months to organize the single and album release. It would take the crystal ball to know his entry into rehab. And anyway TOD would have sold its 6 million copies anyway because Fallen had already become a worldwide hit album of tens of millions of copies. Amy didn't need scoop, she was waaay famous than him.
I'd love to see some Seether reactions. Their big ones to me are "Remedy" and "Truth". Videos are... something, but the music is great!
Fun fact, Shaun Morgan of seether and Amy Lee were a couple for a while but they broke up because of his drinking problem. She wrote the song call me when you’re sober about him, that would be a cool on for you guys to do!
This was a perfect matchup. Still is. ❤🔥
His solo was better
@@schavez5656 nah.
My brother is currently on the road with Seether's tour. They're really good live!
Saw them in 08 with Three Days Grace and Breaking Benjamin... Great concert..!
@@2869may I've met all of them at Rock Fest/Tampa when I was shooting photos(I'm a photographer for a radio station) of their meet & greets and their performances. They're all put on good shows.
@@susanlindner8626 One of the best shows I've seen.
@@2869may I'll be shooting photos of Dirty Honey, Fozzy, Candlebox, Seether & Shinedown on Oct 2nd. Going to be a great time.
@@susanlindner8626 Very cool...! I didn't know Candlebox was still doing it.
Seether is a big part of my 20's they are under appreciated and one of my favorite bands your should listen to more of them songs like driven under, truth, the gift, sympathetic all great
It sounds like a duet of Angels & Demons.
Permanently on the playlist for life, without question.
That sound you are trying to figure out are stringed instruments (cello, violin etc.). And whoever mixed this track definitely did it due justice, because when those strings come in, it takes the song to a whole apocalyptic level paired with the visuals of the video.
I've been a massive fan of Seether ever since I heard Rise Above This back in the day. That song hit me somewhere I don't even know. Also I'm sure this has been mentioned somewhere else, but these 2 dated for a while, and I remember hearing that Call Me When You're Sober was written about their relationship. Can't confirm if true or not.
Seether is my favorite band. There's just something about Shaun Morgan's raspy voice. He has such a uniqueness to him. His cover of Careless Whisper is amazing!
So glad you reacted to this song ❤️ it’s one of my all time faves!!!
Yes, love that you guys are doing this song
Gotta react to more Seether. They're such an incredible. Shaun Morgan is an amazing lyricist and has such a great a voice. They're my favourite band
Got to see them perform this live when Seether opened for Nickelback, many years ago (Hamilton, Canada). Shaun Morgan (the lead singer) was still dating Amy Lee at the time. I love Seether's version of Careless Whisper as well.
Copps Coliseum had some great shows back in the day.
Seether had an amazing list of songs! Try Fine Again, or anything really! His voice is beautiful ❤️
They were dating for awhile. The song you reacted to “call me when your sober” was her song after they broke up. Look up their story… some of her pain and grit were for him. Keep it up. Love y’all.
That's one of my favorite songs/videos. You guys did a great job of breaking it down. Thank you.
Oh Seether are a top notch band. Seether and Shinedown are Phenomenal bands.
Of course I love Amy Lee's voice but I love Shawn's voice as well, it is unique.
Man Seether was great! Every time I hear this song reminds me on my sister, she loves Seether and Amy Lee! She used to sing to it and play the guitar to this song!🤟😎🤘👍
I am glad you reviewed this one.. Music transcends all. There are so many, many great songs that people miss out on because of what they might think it is, just like when we as people judge other people because of the way they look without giving them a chance... Thank you for what you do.
Breakdown is a great song by Seether. It always puts me in a mood!
Seether, my favorite band of all time... Love that duet already.
I think you'll appreciate their song "Wasteland", from Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum.
Keep it up, you're great !
I’m so happy Broken is getting more reactions lately. Such a great song. Thanks guys. Dope reaction 👌🤛
My guys you are reacting to great songs! Props for that! The instruments you heard in that interlude were violins mostly and probably some cello. Keep it up guys! Oh and in those days Amy Lee and Shaun the singer of Seether were a couple. Call me when you’re sober she wrote it for him and in the end he wasn’t happy with that. I mean a lot of things happen. Anyway keep it up!
Great reaction! Absolutely love this song and Amy Lee is my favorite female vocalist of all time
My wife and I have tickets to go see Seether (along with 3 Doors Down) next week in concert here in NorCal.
I'm always happy to see people come out of their comfort zone when it comes to music.
Whether it be Rock, Metal, Rap, Hip-Hop, Country, Bluegrass, Rhythm, Blues, Jazz or instrumental.
If it sounds good I'll listen to it.
One of my favs of all time. I loved your reaction and I appreciate that you are not tied to a specific genre, very refreshing, so many feels on this one.
Thanks for taking me back to my youth 🥰 this came out when I was a teenager and loved it
Great song, they sing together very well. Big fan of Seether they have some great songs. Another good video.
One of my all time faves 💥
Yessss! Y’all are coming through TODAY!! It’s like y’all just breathing air into my lungs! Living ! Love y’all! 💫
Asia and BJ, your commentary is spot on and relevant in today's world. What I'm getting from what you've said about this song and Rock music in general is this: we all have preconceived notions about things but if we OPEN OUR MINDS to unfamiliar things and people, OUR HEARTS WILL FOLLOW. There's beauty that can be found in unexpected places if we are willing to go there. Bravo.....consider me a new sub. 👏
I've seen Seether probably a dozen times in concert (usually at multi-band festivals) and they always deliver. I'll never forget Ben (from Breaking Benjamin) and Shaun (from Seether) teaming up to cover Deftones. Awesome!
So wonderful to see you all enjoying Rock. Great reaction. Most songs are quite deep...
Amy Lee is amazing 👏
Seether was formed in 1999.
They are from South Africa. I've seen them in concert and they're 👍
Amy Lee was in a relationship with the lead singer Shaun Morgan at the time.
Jup. They grew up where I'm from. Pretoria.
@@ebenwrogemann2512 that's cool.
Seether is my all time favorite band. Shinedown is a close second.
Y’all on fire today 🔥💜😎🤘
You guys are taking me on a nostalgia trip today with my binge! 💜
Love this song. Hits my feels.
Definitely check out more Seether! Great band.
Fine again hits home when it comes to great seether music
Great reaction! Highly recommend deep diving into Seether.
Amy Lee has one of the all time great voices, I could listen to her sing Old MacDonald had a Farm lol
This was from the Daredevil soundtrack; I listened to it a lot on my first tour in Afghanistan
Driven Under and Got It Made are my absolute favorites by Seether but I love almost all their songs
Glad u liked it a great song x
Long live Rock!! Witchcraft,is the band(from Sweden). An Alternative to Freedom, is the song, from the album Legend. Seether has alot of good songs. They were called Saron Gas when they first formed, in South Africa. Solid band. Lots of great music to be had. My favs, black sabbath, dio, megadeth, rush, slipknot, iron maiden, tool and 1247 other bands equally as good. Long live Rock!
This will forever be a music staple for me. I saw both bands live and this song live transcended everything you could expect. Amys voice live is better than recorded. It was ethereal.
Great song, thanks for giving it a listen, Amy Lee is amazing
I feel that part where you stopped towards the end of the song might be a string synthesizer. Loved that instrumental bridge towards the end!
Seether are an amazing band they got me through a lot of tough times
Unleash The Archers - Awakening
Featuring Ms. Brittney Slayes, a POWERHOUSE vocalist, right up there with Amy Lee, Floor Jansen, Lzzy Hale, etc...
(Edit - her bandmates are equally as amazing in their own right.)
✌😎
giggles...There ist many different evolution of Rock music using every known musical
instrument, playing every known chord & technique, every singing style, und includes
every other genre of music. But there ist one thing all Rock music has in common.
Das songs tell wonderful stories that anyone can relate regardless of what music they
grew up listening. Good reaction. Have a fun day. Auf Wiedersehen aus Wiesbaden :-)
Rise Above This... from Seether... deals with how suicide affects everyone else... very powerful video.
This song was in one of the punisher movie soundtracks. Great song love Amy Lee
This song just touches me so deep because it’s all about grief and loss. Once you lose someone you love, songs like this just move right through you. 🙏🏼
The harmony is off the charts! I love it!!
Awesome reactions. I’m fan of Evanescence since 2003 🖤 much love!
Seether are unique, they need more attention than most recommendations. Seether do whole albums worth listening to, not just the 2 or less songs that alot of artists do. Met Shaun hes an awesome guy love their concerts too amazing live. Got Seether tattoo aswell 🤟🤟
More Seether please. “ Rise above this”would be a good start. Pretty damn good reactions. Subbed 👍
Seethed is seriously underrated! They put out some of the best music I’ve EVER heard! Y’all should dig into their playlist. It’ll be worth it for sure!
I love Going Under too BJ! Lead singer was with Amy Lee for a while but she couldn’t deal with his drinking. That’s what I heard. I love Seether and Amy Lee both!!
You guys should do more seether! Sooooo many great songs!
Seether is solid! Lots of great songs! My favorite is “Rise Above This” which is loosely about his brother’s suicide
Adore you guys.. thank you for your open minds and hearts.. welcome to the rock n roll life.. You belong too.. xo
Like you Asia, when the strings (not synth) kicked in it made this perfect.
The band Seether have an album/video called "One Cold Night" it's an unplugged performance, and they sound incredible.
Amy Lee is one of the most angelic voices ever
a new subscriber ,love your videos !
I absolutely love this song
I love the song, and I heard it first just with Seether. Now I can't listen to the song without Amy. It just doesn't sound complete without her. Great video guys! ❤
Haven't heard this in a while such a great song amy lee just has one of those voices she can sing the alphabet and it would sound good
There's a ton of legendary music during that era. My highschool days...
More Seether!!! What a great band 😎
I ❤️ This Song And Amy's Voice!🙆🤗🥺🥰🎶💃
I love y'alls reactions n ur honesty...BJ one cool bro n Asia is gorgeous...
I think you'd be blown away by Amy Lee singing w Lzzy Hale..Break In live version..its raw n imperfectly perfect.
I WOULDNT STEER YA WRONG.
Seether’s version of Careless Whisper is also incredible!!
Welcome to the world of Rock, Asia. :) We're glad to have you.
this song brings me baack, if you get the chance watch fine again its my personal favorite from seether
The live version of this is a masterpiece
Every time asia pause at the wrong time bj says "come on man" !!!! He was into it !!!!! Love it 😀
Seether did a live acoustic set called one cold night? or something close. One of the best live sets I have ever heard... ever.
Seether is from South Africa and you guys should check out more of their stuff like Breakdown
You really should check out more songs by Seether. Love you guys, Asia you're beautiful as always. Long time fan/subscriber.
Try Seether "Rise Above This".......great song, deep video.........cheers.....
The Gift for Seether .. its slow but you hear his voice more, even his solo verison of this song Broken ... with Amy Lee Hello or Good Enough
Love the channel ). I don't know if you guys play cover songs on here, but Seether has an Excellent copy of George Michaels " Careless Whisper ". With his voice, its a great unique tune.
i used to listen to this often after falling in love with another that did not love me. only to embrace the feeling so that i could learn life lessons and not make them again. its better to embrace and understand our feelings and circumstances than to resist them and lay/lie in denial
