Daejeon Jungang Market is so large that it is called the largest traditional market in the central region. It is located in the center of the city center of Dong-gu and is known as the representative traditional market of Daejeon. From the front of Daejeon Station to Daejeoncheon, blocks are divided into dried fish street, tool street, fish alley, oriental medicine street, hanbok street, and food alley. Daejeon Jungang Market is a general market where several unit markets such as Jungang General Market, Jungang Shopping Mall Market, Free Wholesale Market, New Jungang Market, and Jungang Wholesale Market are gathered.
Seongsimdang is a bakery shop in Daejeon Metropolitan City, Korea, that opened in 1956. Known for its deep-fried Korean streusel bun or chives bread, it is famous for making Pope's meal bread during Pope Francis' visit to Korea in 2014. It is also one of the top five bakeries in Korea. It is popular enough to line up for long bread.
