i remember when it all used to be about how small the phones could get and now with the fold 4 they are huge, for me i like the flip for going back to that compact size again without having to carry a brick of a phone about
I really am leaning towards the Flip 4 for the small form factor. The increased battery size and fast charging is a big improvement. I will have to get a hands on look at both before I decide. My son has the fold 3 and loves it but I don't know if I can stomach the price tag or the sheer bulk of that phone.
I have the Flip 3. I can't go back to a "big" phone again. The battery on my flip 3 was abysmal, I had to charge it twice a day. However, I always near a plug, so no drama. This phone is meant to be a lot better in that department, I'm getting the Flip 4.

I would chose the Flip over the fold any day. I actually love the size and how I can just fold it into a very small device. But one disadvantage for me is the battery. And a telephoto camera. Aside that, I prefer it to the fold any day.

probably the reason why samsung hasn't dropped the Z phrasing for their phones is because Z is meant too be the folding series where they will have tons of products that can fold in different ways we might see tri fold or quad fold stuff and they wanna have them all put under one bracket or name scheme
Right they have an s series a z series and an a series.
I‘m using the Z Fold 2 as my second device, for films, when I‘m on longer journeys etc
And now I‘m upgrading to the Z Fold 4

I pre-ordered the fold 4. Just to try something different.
For now I'll stick with my Z flip 3 but whenever I next upgrade (most likely next year) I'll upgrade to the fold 4 I think, it really doesn't feel like much of an upgrade other than the chip in the new flip 4 so... yeah anyways that's all I wanted to say, besides I'm pretty pleased with my z flip 3 anyway just may need to replace the screen protector at some point.

they can add a tiny screen on the back of their ultra smartphone just like the mi 12 ultra giving us the same funtionality that the zflip 4 tiny screen can do plus it would be great for quick task as well which would be great
A quick task on the back? Why not on the front. However for a selfie with the main camera it would seem perfect.
@Naeem Bacha we already have quick tasks on the front like our camera AOD stuff and notification we should have a tiny display on the back being able to use as a selfie camera the main cameras and for quick notification like it would be nice to not have notifications turn on the entire phone where u have to long press or unlock the phone like being able to see notification or have quick replies to our messages would be nice and allowing us to use the back screen to show us content we commanded like for example sms and being able to sms using that small display without unlocking your phone or being able to run basic apps on a tiny screen without having to unlock your phone. The tiny screen would save battery life since u don't always need a giant screen this would save significant battery life or being able to have 1 AOD or 2 AOD and being able to costimize the clock face and let's say u want accessory details on the tiny AOD I'd like to have the ability to have my accessory info on the tiny display on the go. We don't need the zflip just add a second screen to their candy bar phone
the flip 4 is cool cause it's smaller and easier to store but doesn't hold a candle to the fold 4 overall

My take on the fold.....
I have the the fold3. I switched over from an Iphone 11 pro max...the reasoning
1-I wanted to learn both spectrums(ios/android)
2-i wanted something DIFFERENT since iphone releases the same shit over and over since the IphoneX.
I am a big content user. Email..youtube..gaming..PH._. Etc. But i came to realize a LOT of apps, pretty much all of them arent yet optimized to fit either of the displays. Ive been waiting for another Ultra because the inner display is actually bigger on the 22U... ive had screen protector issues 7 months after my purchase of the fold3. And the need of a $80 case to house the "Z Fold Pen" is dumb as hell....but i bought it anyway. As of now im wishing i didnt pay for such an expensive phone (512 gig) an astounding 1.9k...
You pay that much to fold the phone. Its no way worth the money.

I have the s20 ultra 5g still and torn on upgrading(phone is fully paid for) but i deal with major hand issuses due to (Rheumatoid Arthritis) and was thinking of the flip 4 but i also watch alot of stuff and play games on phone
I hate my 22U. I had the 3 and wanted a better camera so I traded that in for the Ultra. But I really dislike how small the screen is. I'm on the phone all the time.

They both look like real nice phones but after seeing many reviews on them, I wouldn't buy any of them because of the battery life which to me is a game changer.

Me too, I'm keeping my Z Fold 3, plus it's a Recession here in America. If I do upgrade its to get a Beige color with a slightly better Camera and a smaller & thinner Phone. I Love Larger Screens and Heavier/Premium Phones. I want Google or a Company to Emerge as Valid Competition to the Z Fold line!

Z Fold 5 needs a minimum of 5000 mAh battery 🔋 . The tiny Z Fold 4 which yes its smaller than the Fold 3, does have slightly better Camera and color options. Need a Z Fold 5 Ultra next Year. Give me a inner 8 inch Display, that would be better than a Thomas Crown Edition!

As i was hoping the update would have given us a much bigger outer display (vivo x fold) bigger battery, faster charging and moet importantly the S22 camera system. Samsung was very lazy here though instead, this is a pathetic update overall. The only really thing which is useful is the 1tb option as I am running out of storage on my 512gb fold 3

Do you know if the Flip 4 screen protetor has been improved? Mine, my wife's and various other people we know have all had the protectors of their Flip 3s split across the crease in under a year. Mine is open on the desk most of the day!
The Ultra thin glass and the screen protector are both stronger (by 44% I think)

What does the flip do other than flip in half and make more of a bulkier phone just cut in half.
It's not easier to carry in any way shape or form. It's actually easy to carry the slab or easy to put the flip in your pocket when it's open. When it's open it's thinner and it fits better.
I know you can do the stand thing where you can take pictures cuz it flips in half. Maybe watch a movie cuz it's got its own stand but that's a way too small of a screen that way.

@@soulja12ful it has nothing to do with a weak wrist.... If you're holding something that's over a certain weight. Let's say 265 Grams for instance. After a while of holding it in one hand or on both hands. Eventually it will cause strain. Take boxers for example. The guys that use the heavy gloves. After some time of wearing those gloves. They will start to put strain on the boxers wrists. . . I don't think you've ever been to a gym? I have never heard of anyone building their wrist muscles. More importantly bulking up the nerves they have in their wrists. . Do yourself a favour and delete your comment. Its just a stupid statement.

I was hoping the Fold 4 would have had dust resistance. Outside of the wider(?) Front display, I see no reason to upgrade from my Fold 3.

Talking about you're fold 3, how long have you had it for? How has it held up? I just pre ordered my z fold 4 and i was wondering how the inner screen on z fold 3 was hold up, since they didn't change much this year
@@lowkey2421 I got my 3 the day it came out. Had it for a month after the s22ultra came out. The screen was fine. Just make sure you cut your fingernails down. Can easily mark the inner screen protector
@@lowkey2421 I've had it for almost a year. It's actually held pretty well. The inner display hasn't really suffered any damage. It's not too great in the battery department tho. I can normally get through a day with 35-30% battery life left with average use. Unfortunately any use outside of "average" will kill the battery by midday.

I wonder if the screens are going to start falling apart again after a year. I work at Verizon and screens on the Fold and Flip 3 are starting to bubble and come apart right on the crease line. It sucks to because customers who have insurance have to pay a $250 deductible for a replacement that's has the same issue. The worst part is Samsung doesn't cover the screen coming apart under their own manufacturer warranty.

Buy none of them as they will void your warranty for any little scratch or dent. My fold 3 screen cracked on the crease with no sign of dent and they said there is a dent 10cm away from the crack and that voids the warranty. Asked 500£ for a new screen just 5 months after buying the phone. Just be aware, the warranty does not exist
Non of them if they have the same problems with the screen and Samsung not accepting them in warranty service
